CUNNING FOLK - MY NEW NOVEL - THE LIMITED EDITION HARDBACK

October 1, 2021
NO ONE GETS OUT ALIVE AND THE WORLD.
With the exception of Costa Rica (they're mad for My Little Pony), No One Gets Out Alive is now the top Netflix film in every Latin American country. And it's still the #1 Netflix film worldwide.
A Romanian and British crew, Mexican lead actor, Brazilian/Argentinian/Canadian director, UK production company, British and American writers, cast from the US, Romania, UK, Sweden, Portugal, Honduras, Costa Rica, Mexico.
In such divisive times, it's good to see that the world came together to make a film that the world is now watching together.
In terms of territories and numbers of viewers, I can almost not comprehend it all.
[in 2013 a man sat at a dining room table and remembered his first night in a room in an old London pub, in 1999, in which a mouse climbed into a plastic bag hanging on the rear of the door, producing a noise that both woke him and came close to stopping his heart. True story and the first scene I wrote for this book. Another 600 pages then grew from it. I'm clearly dangerous!]

CRISTINA RODLO & MARC MENCHACA NOGOA INTERVIEW
NOGOA - CAST & CREW, MONDAY 27, SOHO.
Monday's NOGOA screening and party was one of those experiences for me in which being in "the now" wrestled continually with reflections on how I came to be on the roof terrace of Soho House with so many talented folks: the people who made this film.
Last year in itself was an actual horror film. The very world shuddered in fear, the reaper was everywhere. But somehow, against the monumental odds they faced, these folks made a fine film across two countries, observing the strictest Covid protocols, and then did post' in a third country.
My part was easy: I sat down for a year in a comfortable chair, with central heating, at home in 2013, when a pandemic was something that happened in fiction and history. A lot of meetings, zooms and a writer's room came years later but they were all enjoyable, rewarding experiences.
For what they have achieved, Imaginarum, Netflix, the cast, crew and post' have my undying respect, admiration and gratitude. Every last one of them.
I met Cristina for the first time on Monday, who to my eye has produced one of the best female leads in contemporary horror. She's a superb actor and after seeing her in 'Too Old to Die Young', I was so excited when I heard she'd taken the part.

I also met many of the supporting cast but was often too busy yakking to remember to take pictures - I'm at an event like that and take about 8 pictures? FFS. But before I finished my first beer, I managed to remember to get pics with Moronke Akinola (Kinsi) & Vala Noren (the ghost Freja). Victoria Alcock (Mary, who I've seen in loads of things), Mitchell Mullen (factory boss) and Jose Palma (people trafficker) were also there from the cast.
Below, I'm also standing with Todd and Nuno - world class FX maestros & magicians. Will, the producer is photobombing in the background, with Joe Barton, who wrote The Ritual screenplay.
The final work of so many people is out of its stone crate and in the world.
Do you believe in miracles? I do now.

NO ONE GETS OUT ALIVE - THE NETFLIX FILM
Ya'll ready for this?
The film adaptation of my novel, No One Gets Out Alive, will stream on Netflix, 29th September. That's one week away. Apologies for the late post but I've been getting to grips with the new website!
But you can read about the production at Collider.
The director, Santiago Menghini, provided a short interview too:"Director Santiago Menghini, who was tapped by The Imaginarium (the same production company behind another Netflix horror movie, The Ritual), revealed that he was "drawn to the dark and stark world Adam Nevill created in his novel," which led him to want to become involved in the screen adaptation. "I was drawn to the film because of the story's peculiar ominous feel and harsh depiction of the world," said Menghini. "The story had a distinctive tone that progressively closes in on its heroine and an uncanny mystery at its core that I knew I wanted to capture in the film. It was clear to me it was a film I would have great fun in making and one I had to make.""And here's the trailer!Unlike The Ritual, I was involved in this film too, as an executive producer.
You'll be seeing plenty of artwork for the film on your Netflix menu - and you can add the film to your 'My List' now.
Here is the artwork for Latin America.

CUNNING FOLK. MY NEW NOVEL. PUBLISHED HALLOWEEN 2021.
From beneath the ground it rouses itself … my 10th horror novel publishes this Halloween. So here is a first glimpse of CUNNING FOLK.
Cover artwork by the superb Samuel Araya.
No home is heaven with hell next door.
Money’s tight and their new home is a fixer-upper. Deep in rural South West England, with an ancient wood at the foot of the garden, Tom and his family are miles from anywhere and anyone familiar. His wife, Fiona, was never convinced that buying the money-pit at auction was a good idea. Not least because the previous owner committed suicide. Though no one can explain why.
Within days of crossing the threshold, when hostilities break out with the elderly couple next door, Tom’s dreams of future contentment are threatened by an escalating tit-for-tat campaign of petty damage and disruption.
Increasingly isolated and tormented, Tom risks losing his home, everyone dear to him and his mind. Because, surely, only the mad would suspect that the oddballs across the hedgerow command unearthly powers. A malicious magic even older than the eerie wood and the strange barrow therein. A hallowed realm from where, he suspects, his neighbours draw a hideous power.
A compelling folk-horror story of deadly rivalry and the oldest magic from the author of The Ritual, The Reddening and the four times winner of The August Derleth Award for Best Horror Novel.

NO ONE GETS OUT ALIVE PUBLISHED IN GERMANY
2021 appears to be the year in which NO ONE GETS OUT ALIVE disinters itself from a polythene shroud, crawls out from under your bed and shuffles beneath your duvet to embrace you with its thin arms.
As part of the novel’s reanimation, for my German friends and readers out there, Buccheim Verlag/Cemetery Dance Germany, have translated NO ONE GETS OUT ALIVE into a 1000 limited edition hardcover. The edition includes some macabre illustrations by the superb Glenn Chadbourne and a wrap-around dust jacket painted by the marvellous Vincent Chong.
I signed every copy during lockdown and my hand was reduced to a withered, clawed extremity by the end of the process. So now I have four withered clawed extremities with which to feebly scratch at your window panes. Glenn and Vinnie also signed every copy.
“Volume 10 of the series CEMETERY DANCE GERMANY, signed by Adam Nevill and both artists: Vincent Chong (cover & signature page) and Glenn Chadbourne (interior illustrations).
What you encounter on Edgehill Road will shake your understanding of our world.
Publishers Weekly: “A reading experience full of real horror.”
Kirkus Reviews: “A macabre, eerie story about a young woman who is swallowed alive and whole by an insatiable horror.”
Arkham Digest: “This novel throws its readers from the first sentence of pure horror and won’t let up until the end.”
It’s available for pre-order from the publisher (link below) and here are some ghastly samples of the horrors therein.
