GOODNESS ON TRIAL

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

God is proud of you for demonstrating His goodness in the land of the living. His kids are a reflection of Him, so continue to represent Him well. Answer evil with good so people will follow you to the Father.

GOODNESS ON TRIAL

America could use a shot of goodness right about now. Headlines are filled with government infighting, Hollywood elite stomping their feet like children and special interest groups are demanding their way. While it feels good to fight back, there’s something more effective.

It’s called goodness and it’s a game-changer. The Bible tells us God is love and that He is a good Father. So if God is so good, why is America and the world such a crazy place right now?

I’ll tell you why, and it’s the same problem our communities and families have: If there were a trial, too few Christians would be guilty of spreading goodness. There’s very little goodness in most people who profess Christ’s name!

There is true power when the church is the good guy. We see the kingdom of God transforming lives and heaven invades earth. So wake up Christians! Pay attention church of America! Be known for what God loves, not for what you hate and want to judge!

You see, when the church, including it’s individuals, is the bad guy, that’s powerful too. The mob of hell forms and controls folks into thinking they are right and everyone else is wrong. Remember, Paul was writing to believers when he penned this verse, and it still rings true today:

“It is obvious what kind of life develops out of trying to get your own way all the time: repetitive, loveless, cheap sex; a stinking accumulation of mental and emotional garbage; frenzied and joyless grabs at happiness; trinket gods; magic-show religion; paranoid loneliness; cutthroat competition; all-consuming-yet-never-satisfied wants; a brutal temper; an impotence to love or be loved; divided homes and divided lives; small-minded and lopsided pursuits; the vicious habit of depersonalizing everyone into a rival; uncontrolled and uncontrollable addictions and ugly parodies of community.”

-Galatians 5:19-21

Guilty of forgoing God’s goodness? If you’re suffering from a lack of goodness, repent! Change your attitude and actions so you can bring others to Jesus with the gift of goodness.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO BE DECLARED GUILTY OF SPREADING GOD’S GOODNESS! THERE IS NO GREATER HONOR FOR YOUR KING!

PICKING A FIGHT

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

In those places where the enemy fights you the hardest are your areas of your greatest upgrade. Let the enemy know, in no uncertain terms, that you will keep moving forward because Christ is with you and in you!

PICKING A FIGHT

In the movie “Braveheart,” William Wallace walks onto the battlefield alone, directly challenging the British army when his friend asks, “Where are you going?”

“I’m going to pick a fight,” he responds.

He didn’t come there to look at the enemy or wait for someone to make a move. He was there to actually engage and accomplish something. William Wallace was the real deal and we should be too.

Now, I’m not here to pick a fight, but I am here to be the real deal. The name Brewer means “to stir up trouble,” and I’m good at it. Though I hate confrontation, I know that going against the grain – being genuine and real – causes friction.

For me, it comes in the form of hate mail – a steady stream of it. It doesn’t stop me from writing, preaching, rescuing girls out of slavery or feeding the hungry because I’m not here to play it safe. I like being out on a limb.

That’s exactly where we are when we follow Jesus. He likes to lead us into messy, dangerous, vulnerable places. When we go, He brings out our relevance. I am truly afraid of spinning my wheels and becoming irrelevant.

You and I just have to be thick-skinned enough to boldly be who God has called us to be long enough to get good mileage out of his investment.

I knew they were scheming to hurt me so I sent messengers back with this: “I’m doing a great work. I can’t come down. Why should the world come to a standstill just so I can come down to see you?”

– Nehemiah 6:3

When it comes to the things of God, refuse to be distracted. Don’t wait for something to happen. Join the club. Pick a fight with the enemy and take some ground for Jesus. Free a prisoner of war and be who you were created to be.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO SEE YOURSELF AS THE BAD MOTOR SCOOTER YOU ARE. PICK A FIGHT WITH THE DEVIL AND PUNCH HELL IN THE TEETH.

GOD WANTS YOUR TONGUE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

Love isn’t what you think, it’s what you do. Do what Jesus did.

GOD WANTS YOUR TONGUE

Once you get God into your mouth, your head will naturally follow. Consequently, get God into your head and He will make the 12-inch drop into your heart and your feelings, and you will change for the better!

We’ve all read that God’s Word is a “two-edged sword,” but what does that really mean on a practical level? It literally means “two-mouthed” so that when you join God in speaking life, truth and destiny over yourself and others, your mouth becomes a weapon the devil cannot defeat.

When you let God get a hold of your mouth, your life will change, including your mental life – the toughest area to tame. Self-doubt, hatred, past failures and inability to forgive will be defeated if you can just speak right words – the Word of God – over yourself.

There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword,

But the tongue of the wise promotes health.

– Proverbs 12:18

Why? Because speaking God’s Word activates good things in your life. It is like medicine that brings healing because positive words bring life. Negative words bring wrath, and none of us should be looking to bring wrath upon ourselves.

For many of us, it’s like speaking new language. Let’s not forget the incredible gift of simply being able to speak in a brand new way by just speaking life, goodness and God’s Word over things. Doing so will bring the upgrade you’ve been waiting for.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO BE A LIFE BREATHER! SPEAK POSITIVE, GODLY WORDS OVER YOURSELF AND OTHERS, AND REBUKE THE DEATH BREATHERS WHO SPEAK LIES OVER YOUR LIFE.

VAIN IMAGINATIONS

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

You have the mind of Christ. As you cast down evil imaginations, you make your Father in heaven proud. He is filling your head and your heart with eternal things, so have ears to hear His voice and His voice only.

VAIN IMAGINATIONS

While it’s good to learn from your past and prepare for your future, today is the only day you can control. Today is where you fight for greatness and go after blessing.

Unfortunately, if you’re like me – and you are – you’ve found focusing on today is hard. Especially when you consider the conversations you have in your head.

Admit it. Thoughts of past hurts, offenses and slights pop into your head on a daily basis. Sometimes on an hourly basis. You obsess saying, “I should have said this,” “I should have done that,” or “What if…” You start to construct conversations in your head that transport you back to the anger and hurt.

From their callous hearts comes iniquity; their evil imaginations have no limits.

– Psalms 73:7

Then there are the imaginations of the future. You know, preparing for battle by practicing for fights that may never come. But they do, and mostly because you were locked and loaded from a false conversation or an imagined slight.

All day long I have held out my hands to an obstinate people, who walk in ways not good, pursuing their own imaginations—

– Isaiah 65:2

Like Adam and Eve in the garden, you are talking to snakes! These conversations in your head are deadly fruit the serpent uses to keep you wrapped up in your past or undermining your future. You’ll never move forward so you will never be a threat to his dark work.

If the devil can keep you fighting imaginary battles over imagined offenses with real opponents, he can push you into a costly war on a battlefield you have no grace to win. Yes, he’s out to kill your testimony and bring your upgrade to a screeching halt.

Wake up! When you find yourself reliving conversations from the past or preparing for a future skirmish, cast out that thought and the serpent with it. Call on the name of Jesus. Declare you have the mind of Christ, because you do.

TODAY IS A GREAT DAY TO CONFRONT THOSE VOICES IN YOUR HEAD. CAST OUT THE VOICE OF THE ENEMY. PUT ON THE MIND OF CHRIST AND HEAR HIS VOICE CALLING YOU TO DEEPER THINGS.

CLIMB THE HIGHER ROCK

PROPHETIC WORD

Direction by the Divine is always better then what man would define as divine. Be careful not to just hear God speak, but to listen to what He is actually saying.

CLIMB THE HIGHER ROCK

Despite being a flatlander, I love mountains and am amazed at how big some of them are. Pikes Peak in Colorado is 14,110 feet above sea level, while Mt. Rainier in Washington State is 14,410 – the tallest peak in the lower 48. Of course, the tallest mountain on earth is Mt. Everest at 29,028 feet above sea level on the border of Nepal and Tibet.

God loves mountains too, maybe because He is called “The Most High.” There are some high places in the Lord that few people are up to the challenge of climbing. These places are reserved for a very elite few. People willing to get off the couch and be the people God called them to be.

All of us, as people of God, need to be able to find these places in Christ. You have a God-given, very spiritual ability to get up there too. You just have to want it!

Here’s the bottom line: there is no neutral in your spiritual gearbox. You are either climbing higher and reaching toward the things of God or you are sinking into the muck and mire of your flesh and the world, which is waiting to devour you.

There is only forward or backward. There is no safe place. No rest period. No taking a break. You never “arrive” at your destination in Him while you’re here on earth. Again, if you are not going forward, you are in a backward slide.

Go after “the Rock that is higher than I” and find your true identity and calling for the Kingdom. The days are short. God has saved the best of every bloodline for “such a time as this.” That means you!

My taketh my feet like hind’s (deer’s) feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

– 2 Samuel 22:34

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO GO AFTER HIGHER THINGS. CHASE DOWN THE “ON ME” PRESENCE OF THE LORD AND ASK JESUS HOW YOU CAN BRING HEAVEN TO EARTH.

LEADING THE FIGHT

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

Make freedom your cry and mercy your vengeance. The Lord calls you to be a bad motor scooter so continue to fight darkness with the light of truth.

LEADING THE FIGHT

On the holy ground what would be called Texas, a general with the righteous cause of freedom raced across the battlefield of San Jacinto. Vastly outnumbered and in broad daylight, Sam Houston was so far ahead of the rest of his men that he drew all the fire from Santa Anna’s Mexican army.

With two horses shot out from under him, Houston limped toward the enemy pointing a sword, yelling, “Remember the Alamo! Remember Goliad!”

Although never a king, Sam Houston would soon be the president of the nation of Texas. Though he was never actually a king, he was a proven warrior. I love a warrior king!

That’s why I love Jesus. You see, real Christians don’t just serve a king. They serve a passionate, fearless warrior king.

The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.

– Exodus 15:3

Get this: not only is Jesus not scared of the battles you and I face, He actually gets revved up about the prospect of another glorious scrap for our sake! Jesus is no wimp and we shouldn’t be either.

Sign me up to serve with Christians who have the guts to proclaim Jesus in a day where good is being called evil and vice versa.

Is that you? Are you a bad motor scooter for Jesus? If you are, let’s battle together as we follow our fearless warrior King!

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO KNOW JESUS AS THE WARRIOR KING HE IS. LET HIM FIGHT FOR YOU AS YOU BATTLE TO SHOW THE WORLD HIS GOODNESS. TO GOD BE THE GLORY, GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE!

REVENGE TO JUSTICE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

“Vengeance is mine,” says the Lord of Hosts. That means fantasies of revenge for past wrongs or hurts has no place in your thinking. Jesus wants to battle for you, bringing redemption into your wounds and leaving you with justice.

REVENGE TO JUSTICE

If you’re talking to snakes, I have this advice for you. Stop it! Why? Because those voices in your head telling you to say this, do that, or turning you paranoid against people who love you are the voice of the enemy himself.

You know what I’m talking about. Those times when you relive past hurts by practicing a conversation you really shouldn’t have. Why am I telling you not to get some of your own back – a little revenge to get even for wrongs committed against you?

Because they don’t belong to you! They belong to God.

You see, your Father is in charge of handling the people and situations that lay you low, not you. Vengeance belongs to the Lord and He will do battle for you.

Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

– Romans 12:19

You see, the Father is uniquely equipped to bring redemption onto the battlefield. Redemption? Yes!

When redemption is applied to the situation, revenge becomes justice! Isn’t that awesome?

Justice is when the poor have opportunity and the widow security. Justice is when the orphan has a name. When past hurts become ministries and outreaches to lift others out of their misery.

When Jesus rules, His majesty causes us to become overcomers in places we were once victims. Oh, I like that!

Now, the Bible tells us the devil is a liar and a thief. He loves to steal your job, your security, your relationships, your opportunities, your reputation and your territory for the Lord. If he can take your ministry, your friends or your family, he’s got you on the ropes.

Cry out to your Father, the righteous judge for justice. He can return what the thief stole and bring truth where lies once ruled the day. Let Him fight for you because the reward is justice: restoration – getting back what was taken – and restitution – getting compensation above and beyond the offense!

Call on a just God today and keep calling until He renders judgment in your favor.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO THINK OF THE INJUSTICE IN YOUR LIFE. CALL OUT THE DEVIL ON HIS SCHEMES AND DECLARE JUSTICE FOR WHAT THE ENEMY HAS TAKEN!

HOW TO HANDLE YOUR HATERS

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

God is ready to pour out blessings on you so that you may bless others. Don’t be concerned with what others think; bless them anyway.

HOW TO HANDLE YOUR HATERS

Have you got people who hate you, talk bad about you and want to see you fail? Are you dealing with somebody or some group that is envious of you or your ministry? I hope so.

Why? Because there is no way you can be part of the body of Christ without having someone persecute you. If you are doing well, you will have detractors. There is no way you can have anything good without someone else being mad at you for having it.

Sadly, this is the world we live in and you have got to know how to successfully handle your haters. Believe me, haters don’t like to see anyone else get blessed.

A good example is 9-11 when you and I watched in horror as over 3,000 people, mostly Americans, plunged to their deaths after terrorists slammed two planes into the World Trade Center towers. While we cried in despair, Arab and Muslim mobs throughout the world celebrated the massacre. Many of them right here on American soil!

Why would they celebrate and dance in the streets because good people were so gruesomely murdered? Simple. Because Americans are hated, and let me tell you why: because we are blessed.

Get it in your head right now that if you’re going to be blessed, you are going to be hated. Decide to be blessed anyway. Especially in these final days, Godly people are going to be despised. Someone is going to want to take what you have. They want to make you look small so they can seem tall.

Word one: you have to be careful who you share your blessings and dreams with, because some folks can’t handle seeing you blessed. Joseph’s brothers are a good example.

So how do you handle your haters so you don’t abort the blessings God has for you? Know that God knows you have haters. He does. And, get this: you are not allowed to become cynical, scornful or distrustful. You are to turn to Him and the Word. Continue to be a good example, even to those who jealously want to take what you have.

Pray that light would invade the darkness of their hearts and then strive to be that light by going after the blessings and favor God has for you.

He delivered me from my strong enemy, From those who hated me, For they were too strong for me.

– Psalm 18:17

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO PRAY FOR THOSE WHO PERSECUTE YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE BLESSED. ASK FOR LIGHT TO INVADE DARKNESS AND CONTINUE TO GO AFTER GOD’S BEST FOR YOUR LIFE!

GIVE GOD YOUR MOUTH

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

God calls you Holy. Holy means “set apart.” Let your words be holy by speaking His Word and bringing others to a good and just God who loves them.

GIVE GOD YOUR MOUTH

No doubt you have heard, read or know by heart this famous scripture:

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

– Hebrews 4:12

The Word is quick (by the Spirit), and you know it is powerful, but do you know what it means that it is “two-edged?” To be two-edged literally means to be “two-mouthed.”

In other words, when God’s words become your words, and when your mouth becomes His mouth, a weapon is produced that cannot be withstood.

Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

– Revelation 19:15

One of the most important strategies God gives you for overcoming any obstacle – even your own minds – is learning the discipline of speaking right words. I know a lot of junk has been taught on the subject, but don’t throw the baby out with the bath water! You let God get a hold of your mouth and your life will change.

Now, this is a long scripture, but let me take you back several thousand years to General Jehovah’s boot camp on how to win an impossible battle:

“When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt. So it shall be, when you are on the verge of battle, that the priest shall approach and speak to the people. And he shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them; or the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.’

“Then the officers shall speak to the people, saying: ‘What man is there who has built a new house and has not dedicated it? Let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle and another man dedicate it. Also what man is there who has planted a vineyard and has not eaten of it? Let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle and another man eat of it. And what man is there who is betrothed to a woman and has not married her? Let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle and another man marry her.’

“The officers shall speak further to the people, and say, ‘What man is there who is fearful and fainthearted? Let him go and return to his house, lest the heart of his brethren faint like his heart.’ And so it shall be, when the officers have finished speaking to the people, that they shall make captains of the armies to lead the people.

– Deuteronomy 10:1-9

Notice the number of times the priests and officers were told to “speak” to the people? Notice the number of times we are told “do not fear” and “trust the Lord” for victory? The point here is that before anything is set into order, certain things must be spoken.

You see, the stage for your success, your upgrade and your God-given destiny was set and victory assured by the Word spoken over you and directed by God Himself before you were formed in your mother’s womb. When you join Him in speaking words of victory, purpose, faith and life over yourself, hell just has to flee!

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO START SPEAKING GOD’S WORD OVER YOURSELF. YOUR UPGRADE DEPENDS ON JOINING WITH YOUR CREATOR TO SPEAK VICTORY OVER YOUR LIFE AND THOSE YOU ARE DOING BATTLE WITH. FIGHT ON!

THE WISDOM OF CLINTON

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

God has a perfect plan for your life. Align yourself with His will and you will see your upgrade come in. Keep pressing in!

THE WISDOM OF CLINTON

In my opinion, one of the greatest contributors to theological study is a guy by the name of J. Robert Clinton.

A senior professor of leadership at Fuller Theological Seminary, Clinton’s famous study on leaders who finished well is considered a groundbreaking revelation.

In it, he says:

“There are around 800 or so leaders mentioned in the Bible. There are about 100 who have data that helps you interpret their leadership. About 50 of them have enough data for evaluation of their finish. About one in three actually finished well. Anecdotal evidence from today indicates that this ratio is probably generous. Probably less than one in three are finishing well today.”

YIKES!

Clinton goes on to list the major reasons great people do not finish in great ways, but what I find interesting is his six characteristics of leaders who do finish well.

1) They maintain a personal, vibrant relationship with God right up to the end.

2) They maintain a learning posture and can learn from various sources, mainly life.

3) They manifest Christ-likeness as evidenced by the fruit of the Holy Spirit in their life.

4) Truth is lived out in their lives so that convictions and promises of God are seen to be real.

5) They leave behind one or more ultimate contributions.

6) They walk with a growing awareness of a sense of destiny and see some, or all of it, fulfilled.

In other words, people who finish well discipline themselves like Paul so they don’t become casualties. Remember, Paul ran his race, finished the course and kept the faith. He didn’t do it just for him, but for generations of Jews and Gentiles after him.

What about you? Did you check off any of the boxes above? If not, you can begin to forge these characteristics into your personality right now. Destiny and finishing well is a choice. What say you?

but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

– Isaiah 40:31

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO CHOOSE TO BE A LEADER. GO AFTER YOUR DESTINY AND DON’T STOP UNTIL YOU ARE ACROSS HEAVEN’S FINISH LINE. THE LOST AND HURTING ARE COUNTING ON YOU!
