GOD CHASERS

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I have more for you. Trust My plan and climb higher. Come up here where I Am. Listen to My heart for you. I will tell you great and mighty things which you do not know.

GOD CHASERS

Do you know there are things that, if you knew them, they would change everything for you? There’s one thing you could learn that could take you from good to great in your life: The Kingdom has to be sought after and pursued. If you want to know the secrets God has set aside for your life, you have to be in relationship with Him.

The book “The God Chasers” by Tommy Tenney had a profound effect on me. It is all about the relentless pursuit of going deeper and higher in relationship with Jesus to that thing yet undiscovered. Relationship qualifies you for intimacy. You qualify for higher revelation and deeper experience as you conform your life to the image of God’s plan.

When you look up “intimacy” in the dictionary, you find this definition: a close, familiar and usually affectionate or loving personal relationship; a close association with or detailed knowledge or deep understanding of a person.

Even though brother Webster’s definition is true, I don’t think it quite covers the depth and breadth of what intimacy is. Kingdom intimacy is all about the private, privileged, exclusive disclosure of secret things based upon covenant and trust.

Intimacy qualifies you for the secrets to upgrade, identity, purpose and destiny. The kryptonite to this is complacency. Know this: you have never “arrived” at the best God has for you. There’s always more. Your destiny isn’t on this side of heaven so don’t get comfortable and stop pursuing Jesus.

Go after the private, privileged and exclusive heart of Jesus for your life. You’ll never be the same.

“All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.” – Matthew 11:27

WILLING TO GO OFF THE MAP?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Rest in My goodness. Trust Me to always go with you. There is nothing that can separate you from My love for you. I delight in every step you take with Me.

WILLING TO GO OFF THE MAP?

I want to get up and help people. I want to see heaven invade earth. I want to see the Kingdom come into people’s lives! Amen. Am I going to make mistakes? Yes, I’m going to make mistakes.

Why? Well number one, because you and I, we’re a bunch of knuckleheads. Number two, because we’re beautifully flawed. And number three, when you swing for the bleachers you strike out sometimes.

We need to get past this fear of failure because the world around us has been going to hell. I don’t want to sit around worrying about getting into trouble with Father God, especially when I know He’s not going to get mad that I tried to glorify Him.

Does everything go perfect at our food outreach? No. I can tell you a bunch of stuff that didn’t go right there. But you know what? That’s not our testimony. There were many people loved on, prayed for, healed and there were salvations. That’s our testimony.

He tells us to go. Go is a command with a promise. I want you to see this scripture;

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” – Matthew 28:19-20

Jesus is asking you to go out of comfortable places. He wants you to go off your map and look for Him there. You’ll actually see Him when you get out of your comfort zone.

Following and going means leaving the cruise ship. But really, isn’t the most wonderful place being where Jesus is? You won’t do everything perfectly, but you look to Jesus the Good Shepherd. Trust in Him even to “the end of the world.”

THE RIGHTFUL HEIR

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Before time began, I was here. Before you were born, I loved you. I still do. You make an impact for My Kingdom and don’t even realize you’re doing so. Joseph had no idea how important he was to My plan. Neither do you.

THE RIGHTFUL HEIR

The book of Matthew starts off with Jesus’ family tree as if to say, “I’m going to prove to you that Jesus Christ is the rightful heir to the throne of Israel.” That he does my friends.

He begins with Abraham, continues through David all the way to Jesus. He quotes “Abraham begot Isaac, Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot Judah and his brothers.”

There was a lot of begatting going on because they didn’t have radios or television in those days, and it was an honor to have many children. In verse 15, he continues,

“Eliud begot Eleazar, Eleazar begot Matthan, and Matthan begot Jacob. And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ.” – Matthew 1:15-16

Do you see verse 16? Did you know that Joseph was supposed to be the king of Israel? If there’s ever been a guy who’s been ripped off, I promise you it’s Joseph. Despite this, he remained so selfless. He is one of the great unsung heroes of the kingdom.

He’s one of the poorest people alive in the day that Jesus Christ showed up and interrupted his marriage, his trade and his life. I imagine Joseph may have felt that angel speaking to him was also saying, “You know Joseph, this is for you. This is not just for Mary. This is not just for future generations. This is for you, too. You need this to happen and I’m trusting you with this. You are the rightful heir to the throne of David and this is the family God needs to step into.”

This brother stepped-up and loved this boy as his own. Joseph taught him a trade and even went searching for Jesus when he was left behind at the temple at age 12. Joseph had all the attributes you would want in a great king.

Christ was a special gift for Joseph that said, “I see you and I’m fulfilling my promise to you and your generations.” You can see it John 3:16 where it says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only son.”

This popular verse is sometimes misunderstood. He so loved the world! That includes Joseph, rightful heir to the throne of David, and you my friend.

LIVE IT WELL

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

You have been set up for success. I planned great things long ago for you to do for My Kingdom. I enjoy seeing you step into those things. Keep following Me into better. Your destiny awaits!

LIVE IT WELL

Your life is a really big deal and needs to be lived well. It needs to be lived in a way that reflects what the father believes your life should be.

It’s one thing for God to reveal His plan to you. It is another thing for you to conform your life to the image of God’s plan. It’s one thing for God to tell you that you’re set free and you can do amazing things. It’s another for you to act like you’re set free and start doing those amazing things.

These are two different animals. It’s one thing for God to reveal to you who you are and it’s another for you to conform your life to the image of Who God is. This is all about identity and His great big destiny for your life.

Your life is important and it needs to be lived well. You only have a small window of time, a small opportunity to actually live out and personify the heart of Jesus toward you.

You know, God is trusting you with your life. He is trusting you to discover amazing things. He’s trusting you to make an incredible difference in the lives of people who are lost and hurting.

He’s also trusting you to get past your childhood monsters, your failures, your lack of understanding on important issues in your life – like your finances and your relationships. He’s trusting you with that.

“If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.” – Luke 16:10

To live a life other than the one God gave you is to be dishonest, or out of alignment for your assignment. You have a unique promise and purpose that only you can do for God’s Kingdom. He built you that way. Do you know what it is? If you don’t are you going after it?

Remember, you bear the name of Christ. You are His name sake. Your destiny is always tied to Him. Ask Him to reveal it to you and see where the Spirit takes you.

BRING IT TO EARTH

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

My Spirit lives in you. That is one way I have dominion in your life. Take My Spirit with you wherever you go and look after My heart. Give it away to those in need. They are your territory and My Kingdom.

BRING IT TO EARTH

What does it mean that you “seek first the Kingdom”? To seek the first the Kingdom literally means you look to put the interests of the Kingdom first in your life.

Whatever is important to the Kingdom—and to the King—should be important to you. If Jesus is the King and you come across somebody who is shamed, how does the King rule and reign in that Kingdom? How does Jesus treat a person covered in shame?

If you belong to Him, you know how to love on and bless a shamed person, and give them honor just like Jesus. You know how to prophesy destiny over them and tell them God’s not mad at them—that He loves them and sacrificed Himself to free them from the grip of death and hell.

As an ambassador of Christ, you should seek the Kingdom and take away that shame. You should answer evil with the goodness of God. So, if you’re seeking first the Kingdom, that means you’re looking after the interests of the heart of Jesus in every single thing in your life.

When you do that, the King has dominion. That means He lives there.

There is no such thing as a king without a kingdom. There is no such thing as a kingdom without real estate. You are that real estate. You are the land that Jesus Christ wants to have dominion in. How do I know? It’s in His word.

“Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on this earth as it is in heaven…” – Matthew 6:9-10

Remember, you were created from the dust of the earth. You are literally ground, land—territory that Jesus wants dominion in, and He doesn’t want that territory to look like this fallen planet. His goal is for you to reflect heaven in your life.

Are you looking after the interests of the King’s heart? Seek first His Kingdom. Bring it to earth so He can move in and live there.

DON’T BE SATISFIED

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I do not need you. I want you! I want to dominion in every aspect of your life. I will not take it from you. I will only receive what is offered. If you need more of me, you need only to ask. I’m waiting to fill you full.

DON’T BE SATISFIED

If you are satisfied with 30-fold Christianity—even though you are yielding a crop and I praise God for that—that means you’re okay with a 70 percent failure rate. I want to challenge you on that.

You’re not crazy for going after a 100-fold harvest. Folks tell me all the time I’m going to die because I have too many blades in the ground. My friends, that is what powerful Christianity looks like.

I’m not saying I’m a 100-fold Christian. I’m saying I’m going after it. It’s not something you do. It’s a lifestyle you live. Matthew 13:8 tells the Parable of the Sower. Some seed fell on good soil and produced grain, some 100-fold, some 60 and some 30-fold. Let’s go after 100!

What does this look like? How many conversations will you allow God to have with you at one time? A lot of people only hear one little piece of a Word, then another little piece of a Word  and it takes them about a year to get a sentence out of God. That’s normal Christianity for most people, but it shouldn’t be.

You should be having multiple conversations with God in multiple levels of your life. What is God saying to you right now about your thought life? What is He saying to you about applying the Word of God to your life? Is He talking to you about your relationships, physical body, and your finances?

I could go on and on. If God Almighty can only have one conversation at a time with you, it’s going to be a long, time before you begin to see any kind of fruitful victory within your life. We have to let God Almighty deal with every aspect of our lives. Now, that’s 100-fold!

Other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. He who has ears, let him hear.” – Matthew 13:8

GIANTS IN YOUR LAND?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am always with you. When evil hunts your health, your children fall into addiction, demonic words threaten your reputation or the gates of hell come against your finances, I Am with you. I Am up for the fight. Stand your ground with Me.

GIANTS IN THE LAND?

Okay. Here’s a quick Promised Land rehash of the enemies God expects you to defeat to get to your destiny. Yes, He expects it because He knows you’re a bad motor scooter and He’s set you up for victory.

The first opposition you have to deal with is walled cities. This is your “in-a-me” or the attitudes, opinions and mindsets that keep you from advancing. The second enemy is making alliances with ungodly kings. These are the hurts, habits, hang-ups, and toxic people who keep you distracted from your battle for better.

Today, let’s talk about the third opposition to occupying your Promised Land – giants. Giants are all about demonic intimidation.

Pastor Troy alert – giants do not show up when you first start off in the Promised Land. Giants do not show up through the middle stages of becoming successful in victorious Christian living. Giants like to show up once you have your act together, so don’t get caught sleeping on this enemy as He comes into your camp.

You don’t have a “giant target” on your back until you start becoming successful, and you’re going to have to fight something. It’s different for everyone, but mind you, hell does not like you taking its territory.

A giant shows up and one of you is going to go. You can’t live with them. You can’t reason with them. You can’t try to get along with them. You have to rise up and slay the giant or you have to go back to the wilderness. That’s all there is and nobody escapes fighting with giants.

Do not fear! I wasn’t kidding when I said the Lord has set you up for victory, because He has. You have the nine powerful fruit of the Holy Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control—at your disposal.

You have the weapons of prayer and declaration that will bring angelic forces running. You also have a very mighty God who will back you up. You see, you don’t have to fight alone. It’s your choice, so choose well.

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. Casting down evil imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ… – 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

CHANGE ISN’T ALWAYS BAD

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am a God who never changes. Your circumstances will, often. Continually seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I will direct your path. It’s up to you to follow it. If you’re not sure, ask Me.

CHANGE ISN’T ALWAYS BAD

Let me tell you, on the other side of your Promised Land is a new experience. There is something in the Lord you’ve never tasted, something you’ve never experienced or something that didn’t happen in your wilderness experience that is waiting. These are things that only happen once you cross into the Promised Land, like this:

“And they ate the produce of the land on the day after the Passover, unleavened bread and parched grain, on the very same day. Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land: and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan.” – Joshua 5:11-12

This is where the microphone drops because eating something that wasn’t directly, miraculously provided by God was a game-changer. Boom!

The manna ceased. Once they entered the Promised Land, the way they’d always lived stopped and they had no choice but to move forward. I think about that so often. What must have it been like when the manna ceased? They didn’t know how it was there, they didn’t even know what it was, but it was there every day and they depended on it.

I can imagine some people must have thought that God must have taken a day off and that it’d be back tomorrow. But it still wasn’t there the next day and they were really hungry. I imagine that by the third day, they figured it’s really not here and the way they’d always done things couldn’t be counted on anymore.

That happens every time you cross a Jordan and go into your Promised Land. All of a sudden, a bunch of people who were with you are no longer with you. Or the way you’ve always done things just doesn’t work anymore. You went from having things figured out to nothing being figured out. God points to the Promised Land and says, ‘Sic ‘em!” Brother Timothy said it this way:

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power and of love and a sound mind. – 2 Timothy 1:7

Don’t be afraid of change. Embrace it! Run into your Promised Land. It’s better, I promise.

YOU DO THE SAME

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

You were never meant to be an island. Islands are solitary, therefore easily attacked. Without allies and community within the body of Christ, you’re like that island. Connect to the mainland. Let others jump into your battles and you leap into theirs.

YOU DO THE SAME

The book of 1 Thessalonians is all about how to have effective life ministry, whether it’s a pulpit ministry, your marriage, your kids, job, prayer team or anything else God has put in your life for you to reach people through.

“For you yourselves know, brethren, that our coming to you was not in vain. 2 But even after we had suffered before and were spitefully treated at Philippi, as you know, we were bold in our God to speak to you the gospel of God in much conflict. 3 For our exhortation did not come from error or uncleanness, nor was it in deceit. 4 But as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts.” – 1 Thessalonians 2:1-4 (NKJV)

You’ll like this. This is how the International Children’s Bible words verse four:

“But we speak the Good News because God tested us and trusted us to do it. When we speak, we are not trying to please men. But we are trying to please God, who tests our hearts.” –1 Thessalonians 4 (ICB)

Paul is saying something absolutely amazing to the Thessalonians because he’s dealing with people who are a mess. These people have a lot of conflict. They have a lot of hurt, confusion and disappointment. They are under a lot of fear and there’s a lot of testing. What he’s saying is, “I know you’re tested. I’m tested, too.”

No judgment. No condemnation or one-upmanship.

The reason God gave us community with each other is to share in the blessings of each other’s messes. It’s a picture of Him. He didn’t wait for us to clean up our acts before the rescued us. He jumped in. You do the same.

21 Part 4: The Weight and Measure of Your Life

21 Part 4: The Weight and Measure of Your Life

Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021

Pastor Troy Brewer, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX

In 21– Part 1

The Number Revealed

January 3, 2021

TWENTY ONE–21

MANIFEST SPIRIT & LIGHT EXPOSING THE DARKNESS

Making things manifest or visible

The number 21 is in the Bible 7 times

* 21 is 7 times 3 and typically when you see biblical examples of the number 21 it has to do with light being made manifest.

* 3×7=21 – When the Spirit (7) has perfectly completed (3) His work, everything is seen for what it really is.

Ephesians 5:13

But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.

This is the year to press into the presence of God.

The 2021st verse in the New Testament:

Luke 6:19

“And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all.”

The word “Frankincense” occurs 21 times in Scripture, as well as the phrase ‘the Father.’

Intimacy, prayer and the secret place with the father.

7+7+7 =21   7X3 =21

Manifest presence

Exodus 20:21

So the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was.

***************

21– Part 2

Totally Legal

Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021

1 Corinthians 13:11-13

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things….

The call to maturity is huge this year. There is a need for grown up Christians to actually grow up and put away childish things.

Samson would not become mature so he became cursed by becoming a blind entertainer.

The lack of fathers as leaders has stunted the growth of the church. We have to have fathers as leaders in the church–people who see the people of God through a lens of example, potential and discipline. This means a big shift of the new wineskin is about the fatherly role of raising and equipping men and women of God. It’s about passing down an inheritance that gives them an advantage and guarantees their successful walk in Jesus.

1 Corinthians 4:15

For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

The 2021st verse in the Bible:

Exodus 18:21

Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:

*******************

21–Part 3: “For Those About to Rock”

January 17, 2020

Proverbs 21:31

The horse [is] prepared against the day of battle: but safety/victory [is] of the LORD.

Ephesians 6:15

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

YOUR FEET ARE COVERED IN BEING PREPARED TO HAVE PEACE.

*******************

21 part 4 – The Weight of Your Life

Numbers are important in God’s economy. He uses them to speak to us in so many ways.

In fact, numbers are so crucial in His messages to us, He even has a special angel whose job it is to number everything.

This Angel can be found doing his thing in Daniel 8:13-14.

Daniel 8:13-14 (NKJV)

Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to that certain one who was speaking, “How long will the vision be, concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression of desolation, the giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled underfoot?” 14 And he said to me, “For two thousand three hundred days; then the sanctuary shall be cleansed.”

This angel gets his name from the Hebrew word for “certain” which is Palmoni.

It just so happens that Palmoni is a contraction of two other words:

“Pala” which means “wonderful or marvelous” “Mone” which means “to count or number”

This is how we come by his name “Palmoni, the wonderful numberer.”

What kind of numbers does Palmoni keep for the Most High?

Weights, measures, amounts, distances, place, order, time, dates

We first see numbers being important in Genesis 1 when the days were numbered and in Genesis 5 when the family line of Adam is spelled out in great detail – including how long each of these men lived. This is how the Jews know that exactly 5781 years have passed since the fall of Adam.

Just like that, weight is a big deal to God:

Proverbs 11:1

Dishonest scales are an abomination to the LORD, But a just weight is His delight.

21 AND THE WEIGHT OF YOUR SOUL

DISCOVER MAGAZINE

In 1907, a Massachusetts doctor named Duncan MacDougall performed an unusual series of experiments. Intrigued by the idea that the human soul had mass, and could therefore be weighed, Dr. MacDougall put together a bed fitted with a sensitive set of beam scales, and convinced a series of terminally ill patients to lie on it during the final moments of their lives.

MacDougall was so detail-oriented, he recorded not only each patient’s exact time of death, his or her total time on the bed, as well as any changes in weight that occurred around the moment of expiration. He even factored losses of bodily fluids like sweat and urine, and gases like oxygen and nitrogen, into his calculations.

His conclusion was that the human soul weighed three-fourths of an ounce, or 21 grams.

It’s hard to imagine these experiments getting any serious attention from the scientific community today. But the lines of thinking that led to them — and the reactions they generated — remain with us to this day.

Here’s the Measure:

FALSE PROPHETS: A media mouthpiece that proclaims righteousness but is actually full of propaganda.

Flashy people with incredible gifts, but live like the devil and produce hell.

Blind entertainers who count on you to be stupid and immature so they can get away with their agenda.

Here’s the true measure:

False prophets/self promoters/mouthpieces of hell

YOU WILL KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUITS

Matthew 7:15-20

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?

False prophets/self promoters/mouthpieces of hell

YOU WILL KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUITS

Matthew 7:15-20

17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

*****************

Here’s where you can find a true individual who loves and follows Jesus.

Here’s the true measure:

THE TRUE FOLLOWERS OF JESUS

John 13:35

“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

***************

The Church:

“I KNOW YOUR WORKS”

Revelation 2:2
“I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars;”

Revelation 2:9
“I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.”

Revelation 2:13
“I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.”

Revelation 2:19
“I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first.”

Revelation 2:23
”I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.”

Revelation 3:1
The Dead Church
“And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, ‘These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.”

Revelation 3:8
“I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.”

Revelation 3:15
“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.”

Every group of Christians need to serve as an army of one for an audience of One. We should all have a tremendous stacks of trophies of grace that we can clearly identify and point to while saying, “the Kingdom of heaven looks just like that!”
