Playlist Tuesday
I’m on the home stretch for The Last Song of the Siren…hopefully, I’ll be done with it this week. So I thought I’d share another song from the Siren playlist.
She’s second in command of The Daughters of Chaos (a bike club of sirens). He’s Poseidon’s top enforcer. They are meant to be enemies. Instead they have a son. The Siren’s want to use his life blood to break Poseidon’s curse. The Mer want to kill him so the curse can’t be broken. It will take everything Tobia and Malcom have to keep their son safe.
This is the theme song.

Tuesday Tunes
This week’s Tuesday’s Tunes are brought to you by Charlie. This is one of his favorite songs.
I can’t even begin to say how many many many times, I’ve listen to this song. Anyway here is the blurb….
Here is the snippet…
For the first time in Tobia’s life fear coursed through her veins. Her heart stuttered as her brain screamed in panic.
This was it. This was the day she’d die. Forcing air into her lungs, she drew her hook knives. Humming the siren’s death song, she ran to greet the mer who were going to kill her.
And here is the song…
Legends Never Die by Against The Current (We are big Troll Hunters fan so this is what he watches – repeatedly)

Thirsty and Tasty Thursday
Sooooo I had the dreaded you-are-getting-old check-up this week. It would seem that I’m the edge of developing some health issues. The doctor is going to monitor me (mainly my blood sugar) and it strongly suggested that work on my eating habits.
Okay, I can do this. First, let me say that my Monday motivation doughnut is NOT leaving nor is my Fri-yay muffin but the things in between are getting switched up. Oh and there will still be vodka – limited but it will be here.
This week’s recipes are on my to try list – over this weekend. They are both healthy and complaint with the Whole30 diet.
Soooo what will be in my glass this Fri-yay? Not vodka….hibiscus tea

Why are we here – #MFRWHooks
Hello and welcome to this week’s….
This week I’m hooking from my upcoming space opera (I’m going to have a free read with two of the minor characters in March)
Earth was invaded in 2587. What followed was a war which united all countries in a common goal to defeat the invaders and save their homes. For over a hundred years the war lasted, until all the resources on Earth were depleted. Then the nightmare began….
The crew of the Jolly Roger, does it best to stay off the grid, unless it means they can steal something the Neuf – the ruling fraction – really wants or needs.
They take a simple job. A grab and run. But it turns out to be far more landing them in direct fire of the Neuf.
In order to survive, they must find out who the Neuf imposter is. But once they do, will they be able to kill him or her?
And this week’s hook…
Aries followed Colven deeper into the maze trying to avoid the puddles of oozing sludge.
“Look Johnny, we have rats.” A gravelly voice shouted from above. She could tell from the dialect the speaker wasn’t human.
Without a word, Colven spun and fired. An explosion vibrated through the air as her feet left the ground. Colven’s strong arm circled around her before she face planted in the mud. With a brush of his lips on her forehead, he stood her on the ground and disappeared in the rolling toxic smoke.
“Mother of a tick invested war whore,” a voice snarled. “Find them.”
Her stomach rolled and dropped to feet, her lungs shrunk as her heart frantically slammed against her ribs. She knew that voice. It haunted her nightmares. A smart girl would turn and run back to the ship. A smart girl would leave Colven. A smart girl would never find herself standing in a toxic dumpsite with the devil’s voice echoing around her in the first place.
Thanks for stopping by! And make sure you check out all the great hooks – http://mfrwbookhooks.blogspot.com
Tequila, please
While this scene won’t be in the book…I thought I’d share it because the song is on the playlist. Tequila is by Dan + Shay (the link to the you-tube video is at the end of the post)

Tobia dropped the kick-stand of the Suzuki GSX R750. The sun had just started its descent. Her stomach rolled. The thought of what she had to do filled her with disgust. But she was a siren. Seducing men to their death was sort of what her kind did.

Tobia’s bike
She walked into the room scanning the room for her target. He was bent over a pool table. Worn jeans hugging his ass which if hadn’t belonged to a mer, she’d be admiring. Mother had wanted the blood from a high ranking mer for her experiments. She blamed their continued failure on the fact they were using weak mers. If they could get one of Poseidon’s high-ranking enforcers, then they would be able to break the curse and return to the sea. And if the rumors were true, there was no enforcer better than the one whose ass she was staring at.
Since she was one of the few who still had full siren powers it was decided she’d be the one to go. She walked over to the bar. Her skin prickled from the heat of the human men hungry gaze. Let them try. She didn’t usually didn’t even have to consider trouble. No one was brave enough to challenge one of the Daughters of Chaos. Tonight, she wore nothing that would mark her as one of the Daughters of Chaos. Tonight, she was a biker pass through. Tonight, she was looking for a simple hook-up – one that would ultimately lead to the mer’s death.
Accessing the crowd, she decided there wasn’t anyone she couldn’t handle.
Her eyes wandered back to the mer shooting pool. Human. She could handle any human.
“Two tequila shots.” She put a hundred-dollar bill on the bar. “Keep them coming until there is only eighty-five left. And keep the rest for yourself.” She let a slight hum tinge her words so the bartender wouldn’t question her request.
A wide goofy smile greeted her as he poured the tequila. Human men were so easy to manipulate how her sisters found them attractive she had no idea. She picked up the glasses and put her best ‘you-want-me-to-take-you-to-a-lab-and-torture-you’ smile. Who was she kidding? If this enforcer was all rumors made him out to be, she’d be lucky to be alive to greet the sun in the morning.
A gray cotton shirt strained at the seams to contain his biceps.
He guided the pool stick with an ease that underplayed the power behind the shot. The balls raced across the green felt. Yup, a badass.
“What kind of shot did you buy me?” He asked without looking at her.
A cocky badass. Typical mer.
“What makes think I’m the sharing type?”
He looked at her for the first time. His swirling aqua eyes dancing with humor. Nothing about him reflected human, he was hundred percent mer. A strong nose and jawline, paired with lips made for kissing, no wonder women lined the wall watching him and now glaring at her.
Moving around the pool table, he closed the space between them. Instead of his scent making her sick, electrical pulses of desire moved through her resting in her pussy.
He leaned in close. “I am the sharing type. So, what are you drinking?”
Shit. The only thing she wanted to do was take him to the hotel and screw him. This was bad, so bad. She needed to sing. She needed to get him under her spell now. She needed to knock him out.
Instead, she moaned, “Tequila.”

Here’s the blurb…
Keegan Ames takes a pro-bono job helping a non-profit design a family nature reserve. A quick week of feel good work. Or so he thinks.
Jolene Rawmen’s dream is about to come true. A family nature reserve named after the foster mother who changed Jolene’s life and gave her hope as a child.
The masquerade ball is a fund raiser. Jolene goes hoping to secure the remaining donations needed for the reserve. As Cinderella, she finds Prince Charming. Who is anything but a story book prince. He opens a new world for Jolene. A world of amazing sex. A world Jolene isn’t prepared to delve in.
Besides coming to terms with the sex games Keegan has introduced her to, she must fight to save her dream, stop a serial killer, and try not to fall in love with Prince Charming.
Here’s peek…
He needed to seek out the weed threatening his garden. It was time to start the extermination process. Now to figure out to do that and leave no body.
While he wasn’t afraid of the police they were bothersome. But first he would to talk to Jolene. She hadn’t called him about the flat tire and she’d rode in with Mandy. He’d been worried her feelings for him had changed but she’d just lied for him. Even if she still wasn’t ready to face her love for him, it was there. She was his flower, he was the gardener. It was his responsible to make sure she grew to her full beauty.
He snatched one of the remaining doughnuts and headed out of the conference room.
