Women’s History Month Spotlight: Lorelei Shellist, Radiating and Releasing Inner Beauty

women will save the world lorelei shellistlove like god lorelei shellist“Everyone uses the term,
‘Beauty from the inside out,’” said “Love Like God” and “Women Will
Save the World
” contributor Lorelei Shellist, “But few people ever tell you
how to access that inner beauty.” Through her work as a counselor, speaker, and
life coach, Lorelei affirms through daily works and self-love programs that
beauty is within us all. She has made it her life's mission to help others find
and radiate their inner beauty.

“My programs are designed
to help re-connect with the parts inside ourselves that hold us back from
radiating our beauty. We must learn to acknowledge those parts that we may have
kept hidden for whatever reasons and embrace them, not reject them. In many
cases, there is healing to be done on the unconscious level before we can allow
ourselves to shine,” she said.

Lorelei teens dreams with wings

One of Lorelei's popular
programs is "I Am Dreams with Wings,” which educates at-risk teens by teaching core life skills such as
communication, job interview techniques, and self-empowerment. Through opening
her own heart, Lorelei mentors teens to create their own positive life journey,
attain their heart's true desire, and become conscious, responsible enlightened
adults. Another well-received program is Freedom to Choose, which helps women in
prison recognize their potential and redesign their external style to release
their intrinsic inner beauty.

dedicating herself to encouraging the growth of inner beauty in a place
starving for renewal - politics - as a campaign ambassador to her personal inspiration,
Marianne Williamson. “The moment I heard Marianne was running for the U.S. House of
Representatives in my own district here in L.A., I had a rush of energy and
hope. Here was a woman who had personally inspired and counseled me 25 years
ago when my own life was challenging and I was at a loss,” said Lorelei.

And, yes, there is even more for Lorelei! She is the bestselling
author of "Runway RunAway: A Backstage Pass to Fashion, Romance and Rock ‘n Roll," an event host, a Fashion Icon Inner Beauty Expert™, and a BARE BEAUTY
columnist in FIND BLISS Magazine.

We appreciate this luminous
example of how one person's personal quest for inner beauty and understanding
can offer opportunities to encourage positive change and hope for many.

Congratulations, Lorelei
on shining a light through the long tunnel of self-discovery and possibilities!
You rock!

Women’s History Month Spotlight: the Beautiful Waves of Kate Neligan

kate neligan women will save the worldLike a pebble tossed into water creating ripple after ripple, Kate Neligan makes
beautiful waves. This “Women Will Save the World” trailblazing contributor is creating a better world
through her vision of synergy. In her recent TEDx talk on “The Pursuit of
Perfection,” Kate shared how as a society we have established a fertile ground
for the perfection-driven people we are today.

“If I do this, I get this,” we think. But, when we don’t achieve the “perceived
perfection,” we do not earn the reward and, thus, an “I am not enough” seed begins
to grow. How can we overcome that feeling of not being enough and let go
of the exhausting chase for perfection? Kate asks us to focus on three things:

Enjoy the climb. “So often we
focus on the destination and where we are going because we think that is what
we need and lose sight of the beauty around us.”

Live life in the sweet spot of
enough-ness.
“The paradox of desire is that we want something outside of
ourselves, but that sends a signal that we are not already complete.”

Practice synergy. “Embrace all
the parts of ourselves, including our shadow, so we work to heal our wounds and
continue to express our light.”

In addition to her TEDx appearance, Kate described a recent “full circle
moment” when she saw the Dalai
Lama speak in person
, as it was a quote from the Dalai Lama that inspired the
creation of the Absolute Love Publishing collaborative book, “Women Will Save The World,” for which Kate contributed a story on “Transformational
Trailblazing.” Kate’s story centered on following her heart to create Mindful
Media LLC, a conscious media studio for mindful movies and transformational
television, and Synergy TV, an online media channel that entertains, enlightens,
and inspires.

Women’s History Month Spotlight: Tonya Fitzpatrick, Walking in Love

tonya fitzpatrick world footprintsLove Like God: Embracing Unconditional Love" contributor Tonya Fitzpatrick spreads a message of unconditional love
through inspirational travels, cross-cultural understanding experiences, and
“voluntourism” opportunities with World Footprints radio. Her life mission recently brought her to Sochi, Russia to
cover news of the Winter Olympic Games, with a focus on the Paralympic Games.

"During
the Paralympic Games in Sochi, the men made history, but the women really
shined,” said Fitzpatrick. One of her most
inspirational interviews was with 18-year-old, first-time Paralympian Stephanie Jallen, who
competes in alpine events such as the slalom with just one leg and one arm - a
true example of what a woman's strength and determination can achieve. “This young woman is fearless and believes that
all things are possible. She skied her way down black diamond slopes to the
podium twice to take home bronze medals each time.”

Fitzpatrick also witnessed women
creating peace one moment at a time as two female cross-country skiers - one
Ukrainian and one Russian -- put aside their countries’ political differences
to share the podium, along with a Swedish cross-country skier.

“Every single athlete at the Paralympics
reflects the closing ceremony message that turns ‘Impossible’ to ‘I'm possible,’”
said Fitzpatrick. “As women we must always embrace the belief that 'I'm
Possible' when we start to feel defeated. All we have to do is look
at the brave women at the Paralympic Games who embraced a belief in themselves
to compete on an international stage.”

world footprints tonya fitzpatrickEach of Tonya's experiences
with these women of the Sochi Olympics show the value of what self-love,
perseverance, courage, and strength can bring to fruition. When you think you
cannot do something, remember the determined women at the Paralympic Games who embraced
a belief in themselves.

“As someone who has a passion
for connecting people of different cultures and encouraging others to live
their best lives, the Paralympic Games and the spirit of the athletes and
humanity left an indelible impression on my heart," she said.

Fitzpatrick provides a strong voice through
the World Footprints platform for living a socially responsible lifestyle that
makes a positive imprint on our planet and shines a light on important global
issues such as human rights advocacy, travel, and environmental and animal
conservancy. She recently was honored with two awards in the Travel Broadcast category from
the North American Travel Journalists Association:

Gold Place for the show, “Gettysburg, Beyond the Battlefield and Along the Underground Railroad
Bronze Place for Live Broadcast during
the 2013 French Quarter Festival in New Orleans, Louisiana featuring James Carville and Mary Matalin

Spotlight for Women's History Month: Superhero Terry Grahl and Capes For Kids

Women Will Save the World” contributor Terry Grahl started her career as an
interior decorator, creating beauty and spreading joy through design. While on
that journey, a volunteer opportunity at a women's shelter led her to a path of
greater glory, and a new dream was born: Enchanted Makeovers, a non-profit dedicated
to transforming homeless shelters for women and children into inspiring,
healing sanctuaries.

Terry followed her inner guiding light to close her private decorating
business and dedicate herself full time to the growing endeavor. She worked
collaboratively, locally and nationally, "transforming shelters for women
from surviving to thriving," where children, teens, and adults could be
healed, nurtured, and restored to recognizing their own worth and greater
good.

Terry and her team of giving volunteers saw firsthand that changing the
environment and attitude of a structure could shift the feelings and intentions
of the people within it. Not just decorating; this approach birthed magic and displayed
humanity at its best. The experience was life changing.

Before long, Terry was drawn to the needs of the youngest residents in the
shelters. What else could be done to help the children feel nurtured and comforted
and to show them how to draw on their inner strength? It had to be something
imaginative that would take root and stay with them long after their stay at
the shelter. The answer was an inspirational and love-fueled program - Capes
For Kids. Throughout generations, children have believed in superheroes saving
the day. Capes For Kids was the creative catalyst to teach children they could be empowered to save their own day.

The cape would not only be a symbol that encouraged the child's imagination
to soar, but also a comfort, similar to wrapping up in your favorite blanket,
cozy robe, or favorite shirt. Today, each cape is handmade with love and
creative detail by contributors from all over the world. "With handmade
items, all this positive energy and love is built into it," said Terry.

Capes For Kids embodies a wonderful cycle that starts with giving love and
showing love - to becoming the love - for participants, contributors, and
volunteers. Absolute Love Publishing and Capes For Kids are in alignment: Love truly
can make the world go round.

Capes For Kids invests in a child's core well-being and nurtures the skills necessary
to become a self-loving, strong, and creative person. With each cape is a
built-in hope that it may provide a seed to grow an inner garden of greatness. Our
wish: May every superhero child blossom into an adult that pays forward the
love, kindness, and living skills the capes cultivate in them, and may our superhero Terry Grahl be blessed.

Terry Grahl and Capes For Kids are
greatness personified. Terry's leap of faith, imagination, and connection with her
inner child are changing lives exponentially every day.

What Does an Editor Do, Anyway?

Most people hear “editor” and imagine one of two things:
either a person who manages a magazine, literary journal, or publishing house
or a person who checks a writer’s work for grammar issues. While both pictures
are accurate, they represent only a narrow slice of a true editor’s work. In
fact, there are many different kinds of editing, including developmental
editing, content editing, line editing, and proofreading. Some editors focus
exclusively on one form of editing, while others are skilled in all arenas and
provide whatever editing services their clients or authors need.

If you are an author
interested in publication, make sure you understand the different types of
editing and how each can affect your manuscript.
This knowledge enables you
to compare editors and publishing houses accurately, which often leads to a
better manuscript and more sales.

Here’s our editing cheat sheet, prepared just for you:

Proofreading. Proofreading
is the simplest (and generally cheapest) type of editing you can get. A
proofreader goes through your manuscript word by word, commenting on and/or
revising basic grammar and spelling errors. Proofreaders do not comment on any
other errors, which is why writers typically hire a proofreader only after a
separate editor already has reviewed and revised their work (if proofreading
was not included in their editing contracts). Proofreading generally runs less
than $0.05/word (up to $2,250 for a standard 50K-word book).

Line Editing. Line
editing is the second simplest type of editing, and generally carries a heftier
price tag than proofreading (about $0.05 - $0.25/word, or $2,500 - $12,500 for
a standard 50K-word book). However, this is an essential investment for an
author who is serious about getting published, because agents and publishers
generally won’t accept a book with structural issues. A line editor goes
through your manuscript line by line, commenting on and/or revising sentence
structure, syntactical problems, POV issues, factual errors, and plot holes. The
line editor also spends a significant amount of time ensuring your dialogue
sounds natural.

Substantive Editing. Substantive
editing is in-depth editing that often involves the editor revising, adding,
deleting, and rearranging entire pages and chapters. (Think of substantive
editing as a kind of editing/ghostwriting hybrid.) While it is more expensive
than line editing (often ranging between $0.30 and $0.75/word), it results in a
substantially better manuscript. If you’re planning to successfully self-publish,
substantive editing is probably the way to go. (Most publishing houses will
have an in-house editor apply this level of care to your manuscript, though
they generally won’t accept your manuscript for publication unless it already
has been professionally edited to a high standard.)

Developmental
Editing.
If a substantive editor is a blend between an editor and a
ghostwriter, a developmental editor is a blend between an editor and a writing
coach
. A developmental editor typically advises an author on early-draft
issues, such as the creation of an outline or plot line and the conception of
the idea itself. Issues brought to the author’s attention generally include
believability of the premise, core intention and goals of the book, likeability
of the characters, pacing, and writing style. (Pricing for developmental
editing varies widely, but typically ranges between line editing and
substantive editing.)

If you’d like to learn more about how editing works or you
have a completed manuscript you’re ready to publish, contact our editor by

A Recent Release from Absolute Love Publishing! Finding Happiness with Migraines: a Do It Yourself Guide, a min-e-book™

chronic migraine relief bookDo you have monthly, weekly, or even daily migraines? Do you feel lonely
or isolated, or like you are constantly worrying about the next impending
migraine? Is the weight of living with migraines dampening your enjoyment of
the “now"?

Absolute Love Publishing author Sarah Hackley
understands. She was in the depths of migraine darkness until she found her way
through chronic migraine to a place of light – and happiness. Hackley, who was featured in another
Absolute Love Publishing book, “Women Will Save the World,” wrote “Finding
Happiness with Migraines: a Do It Yourself Guide

can be a wholly disheartening disease.”

In this min-e-book™, Hackley shows you how to
take charge of your body, your mind, your emotions, and your health by
practicing simple, achievable steps to create a daily life filled with more
joy, appreciation, and confidence.

sarah hackley author“If you read about migraine, you hear the same things over and over
again: figure out your triggers, avoid them, and take your medication. But,
what do you do when those things don't work?” asked Hackley. “Many anecdotes
and studies seem to imply there's nothing left to do at that point except give
in to a life ruled by depression, constant pain, and ever-increasing migraine
attacks. My own journey showed that there was another option, and I wanted to
share that option with others.”

Hackley brings to the forefront
several new thought philosophies, including the role of intuition, taking
charge of your own therapy, why you should throw away your daily migraine
journal, and even yoga poses to help with migraines.

“No one
should feel helpless and hopeless, and I wanted to alleviate those feelings in
my readers and offer a chance for peace,” said Hackley, who also points out
that the tips in her book are helpful for those in the grips of any chronic

of being and then helps you transform to living a life free from worry about

“I want to live in a society
where people truly have love for their bodies, no matter what shape or size,”
said Hastie, “and in order to make this dream a reality, we have to start with
the power of the truth. And, the truth is ... diets will never accomplish this.”
