When Harry Met Sally

I'm sitting on the couch watching When Harry Met Sally.  What is it about this movie that makes me sit up and watch it whenever it comes on? I also have it on DVD. I think I've seen this movie at least 30 times (that's not an exaggeration) and I still notice something new every time.

I think what I like most is the fact that the characters knew each other for so long. I like seeing their relationship evolve. They "meet" each other at pivotal moments in their lives. And learn from each oth...

Potpourri Thursday

Usually I have Wednesday and Thursday off but this week I had a revised schedule, working six days and having Thursday/Friday off. Which means I didn't get to percolate a blog for today.
So you're now stuck with my off-the-cuff thoughts.

Today's photo is brought to you by A Knight's Tale which I am watching on TV. I miss Heath Ledger. *sigh*

I just saw an ad for some drug and I wonder, "Do doctors take offense if you suggest medications to them?" I mean, it's their job to diagnose yo...

Writing The End

writing, writing tips, photo courtesy JPaxonReyesThis week I wrote my two favorite words in this crazy business we call romance writing: I wrote The End on my latest manuscript. Angels didn't sing (although crickets may have chirped), fireworks didn't burst into the night sky (although bebe was throwing a balloon around at the time), and there was no standing ovation (although a live version of Glory Days was playing and some hooting and hollering was heard).

Still, it was a nice feeling. Writing 'the end' is always...

From “Editor” to “Edited” with guest Kate SeRine

Kate SeRine (pronounced “serene”) faithfully watched weekend monster movie marathons while growing up, each week hoping that maybe this time the creature du jour would get the girl. But every week she was disappointed. So when she began writing her own stories, Kate vowed that her characters would always have a happily ever after. And, thus, her love for paranormal romance was born.

Once upon a time, I worked in the publishing industry, serving in various positions from proofreader to in...

Guest Blogger Jessi Gage: What to Pack When You Travel Through Time

Hiya, Wrangers! It's our pleasure to welcome author Jessi Gage to the blog today. Take it away, Jessi!

Thank you for having me, Kristina and the WW crew! I'm so excited to guest blog for Word Wranglers today, because this is where it all started for me, in a pitch session with Lyrical Press editor Piper Denna a little over a year ago. To celebrate the release of my very first novel, Wishing for a Highlander, I’m talking about one of my favorite topics today, time-travel.

Time-travel romance is...

Colorado...or Wyoming?

It's no secret I live in Colorado. I have also lived in Arizona, N. California, Texas and Mississippi. But the majority of my life has been spent in the Centennial state. I know it pretty well, and have been to most parts of it. One place I have not visited, but would love to, is the Sand Dunes.

I digress.

Most of my stories are set in Colorado, in the San Juan mountains, where these photos were taken. It's just easy, setting my stories in the place I know like the back of my hand.

I have...

The times, they are a-changin'

The time changed this weekend. I was efficient. I changed the clocks in the house before I went to bed, changed my watch, even changed the clock in the car while we were out because my husband was driving. On Saturday night, I went to bed…oh, some time or other, and got up an hour later than usual. Only I didn’t. I don’t think. It’s hard to tell, but I’ve been trying to catch up with myself all day. It couldn’t be time for lunch, but it was—matter of fa...

A Beautiful Day in My Neighborhood

Spring is just around the corner. The sun is shining, the sky is blue with big, white cotton-ball clouds. I hear lawn mowers powering up and cutting the first grass of the season. I watch birds swoop from tree to post to tree.

I know you all think it's always rainy and overcast in the Pacific Northwest, but that's just a lie perpetrated to keep everyone away. These are pictures that I took today.

Okay--so maybe it rains a little bit longer and and heavier here than in other parts of the nation....
