What I'm Watching This Fall

Next to Christmas, the second week of September used to be my favorite season--the new t.v. season. Yes, my television addiction began early.

Do you remember what it used to be like before the internet?

I started stalking the mailbox in the beginning of August waiting for the triple -thick TV Guide would arrive with the new series announcements and synopses.  I'd highlight the shows I wanted to watch, squeal when my faves got their own show--Joanie Loves Chachi, and just general...

Just a Little Comfort

I'm a creature of comfort. In the summer my comforts are ice cold lemonade or Coke. In the winter it's hot cocoa or maybe some oolong tea. At breakfast nothing is better than whole wheat toast and my favorite dinner dessert is - wait for it - peanut butter crunch.

When I'm writing, I have my comforts, too. The right music - instrumental light jazz for the drafting stage, WIP-specific playlists during the editing phase - is crucial. The right space. My 'space' used to be RadioMan's recliner. It...

Jim Cangany Celebrates!

I’m so excited to be here at Word Wranglers, today. October 13 is a special day in my life. It’s my wife Nancy’s birthday. Cue the confetti and balloons! While her birthday is important every year, this year it takes on an even greater significance. First off, today marks Nancy’s fifth birthday since she was diagnosed with breast cancer. I won’t lie. Those days in 2009 when she was going through first chemotherapy, then mastectomy and finally radiation were frightening and stress-filled. But...

Question Friday

So, welcome to our premiere of Question Friday. Since this was my idea, I got to ask the first question. This week I asked my blogmates this question:
What genre or style of book would you like to write, but probably never will?
Liz's answer: A Regency romance, wherein the heroine is older, on the proverbial shelf, for one reason only: Mary Balogh. Because of reading her books--some of them several times--I've become completely fascinated by the period. However, I'll never try one for the...

Inspirational Triggers

Tuesday night, I took Jordan to her Japanese class to which the door is on the fourth floor of a parking garage under the the open sky. After dropping her off, I was startled by the sight of the full moon framed between two trees in the dusky light.

Full moons inspire me. I think because in my heart of hearts, I feel as if I were meant to be a witch. A fictional witch like Heather Blake or Bailey Cates write. I'm pretty sure I have a latent magical gift ready to be unleashed. If only I could f...

Just Keep Going!

Often you shall think your road impassable, somber, and companionless. Have will and plod along; and round each curve you shall find a new companion ~ Mikhail Naimy

This past summer was wonderful and awful all at the same time. Wonderful because I had two book releases to celebrate and I finished and received edits (I'm learning to love them - pinkie swear) for my first SuperRomance, I saw two new covers and got to share them and drool over them. RadioMan and bebe tagged along with me to the R...

Again? Really?

Do you ever worry about being annoying? I certainly do. I think it comes from being the youngest child who spent  yearsbugging the life out of the ones who came before me. It left me with a real fear of being a pest.           I’m blogging all over the place right now. I’m giving things away here and there, just talking at other places, dropping blurbs and excerpts like they were bullets in my promotional gun. See my cover o...

My Last Blog

This is a sad day for me. I have to say good-bye as a blogger with Word Wranglers. My time with the Wranglers has been filled with fun, laughter and a few teary-eyed moments. But life calls, I have a lot on my plate right now, so some things have had to take a back seat.

Although I won't be a contributor with Word Wranglers anymore, I will still stop by to see how everyone is doing. Even if I don't comment, I will be reading the blogs every day.

As for my writing? Yes, the characters still come...
