The Elphite Audio Book

For quite some time now, I have been asked for the audio book versions of my books, for people who either find it difficult to read ebooks/paperbacks or for people who like to listen to audio books while travelling, and though it seemed like a good idea, I have not got my head around doing it, until now.

It was mostly the technical side that put me off, as you are aware, being an Indie Author means doing pretty much everything for yourself, and the idea of recording, narrating, editing and uploading entire books just seemed a bit beyond me. But recently I managed to work out a way to do it myself, and so I have recorded, edited and uploaded the first chapter of The Elphite to SoundCloud, to see what feedback I get on it. If it’s positive (or at least constructive!) then I will continue recording and upload it and sell it on Amazon.

So here it is, the Prologue and first Chapter, please let me know what you think!

The Healing Weekend

healing-weekend1

I’m very excited about the fact that a week today, Jon and I will be at the Healing Weekend at the Secret World Wildlife Rescue. I have missed out on going to this for the last three years, due to work/lack of planning/other engagements, so I am really pleased that we will be there this year! A whole three days of being outside, of camping, unplugging (yes, I plan on leaving the phone and computer at home!!) and being surrounded by beautiful souls sounds like heaven to me!

I’m also excited to see Flavia Kate again, the beautiful lady who has made my hair sparkle for the last three years, and I hope to attend her Faerie workshops. I get the feeling that I may need to take my wings :)

It’s also the four-year anniversary of the first date I had with Jon, so I am looking forward to celebrating, relaxing, having great conversations and meeting some fabulous people.

I look forward to seeing you there!

I’m Here Soundtrack

As you can see in the menu above, I like to put together music that I think would be great on the soundtracks of the movie version of my books. For I’m Here, I decided to do it slightly differently, and put together a soundtrack for the book, a song for each chapter. I have put it together as a playlist on youtube, and on each song I have said which chapter it corresponds to. You could listen to the music while reading the book, as the songs I have chosen set the scene for what is happening. Weirdly, the song ‘Long Days’ even has a music video that relates really well to the story too.

You can find the playlist on Youtube or by clicking below. Please let me know what you think!

A huge thank you to dad and Annette for giving out the cards and for taking the tour to Rome! A big thank you to Annette for sponsoring the tour too. It is massively appreciated.

There is still time to be a distributor for the tour (I have a few cards left!) and by doing so, you would be entered into the awesome prize draw!  Just drop me an email to let me know you are interested :)

Earth Angel Sanctuary

I recently connected with a beautiful Earth Angel called Sarah Vine, who is an old soul like me. After watching some of her videos on youtube, I realised that we had a lot in common. Not only that, but she had created the Earth Angel Sanctuary, a safe space for Earth Angels to get guidance and information online. The Sanctuary reminded me very much of the Earth Angel Training Academy that I wrote about in my books, and so when we connected, I sent Sarah copies of the Earth Angel books, to see what she thought.

Sarah read all three books in just four days (she had to stop for a day in the middle to get some work done :) ) and she loved them. Her review on Amazon of the Earth Angel Training Academy describes her excitement -

“I absolutely LOVED this book, and the following two, the Earth Angel Awakening and The Other Side.

As someone who is passionate myself about awakening earth angels, I recognised myself in this book very easily! I loved all the characters, imagery and storyline, massive well done to the amazing author Michelle Gordon for writing these for us all, they are written extremely well and are very easy reading, which makes it even more easy to take in unconsciously….

I highly recommend these books as they will awaken any reader who is an earth angel themselves. I could not put this book down until it was finished and could not wait to read the other two!

I would love to see these as films to awaken on a mass scale :)”

After some long Skype conversations, Sarah and I have decided to collaborate on some future projects, some of which I will be talking about soon. She will also be interviewing me for the Sanctuary (there are interviews of Earth Angels on there), which should be great fun.

If you are an Earth Angel and you sometimes feel like you need a little help, or there are things you would love to be able to do, but don’t know how, I would definitely recommend joining the Earth Angel Sanctuary. The monthly membership price will be going up on the 1st July, so it’s worth signing up now, so that you can get all the benefits for less. Sarah adds videos on a regular basis, and they really are very useful.

Here is a video of Sarah explaining what an Earth Angel is.

Why I Love Being Indie

While chatting to my editor about Indie publishing versus traditional publishing today, it occurred to me that when I write, I love the uncertainty of not knowing where the story will go, but when I publish, I love the certainty of knowing that it is going to be a published, printed book.

Many writers are the opposite. They plot and plan their novels, knowing every twist, turn, sub plot and cliffhanger, crafting their masterpiece exactly how they envision it. Then they print off copies, put them in envelopes, and start sending them to agents and publishers, hoping that someone will recognise the book for the genius manuscript that it is. They have no idea if they will even get a reply from said agents and publishers, let alone an acceptance from them.

I used to think that I was just too lazy to be traditionally published, that I couldn’t be bothered with the query process (which always seemed arduous, painful and long)  But I have just realised that it’s the uncertainty that I cannot handle. Which is why after I wrote Heaven dot com, fourteen years ago, I stopped writing. Because it was just too hard to get published, so why bother writing stories that would never be read? It was the evolution of Indie publishing that then made me think that perhaps I should write more, and motivated me to start writing novels. (Chris Baty’s book, No Plot? No Problem! also spurred me to write)

I’m not the kind of writer who must write every day. I’m the kind of writer who writes to share ideas, thoughts and channellings, with as many people as possible. And so writing without the certainty that I will be able to share the words, does not appeal to me at all.

I do start to feel a little antsy if it has been a while since I wrote anything, and scenes start to write themselves inside my mind, just begging me to write them down. In fact, Elphite fans will be pleased to hear that I have an alternate ending in mind, which I am thinking of writing and releasing soon.

But I don’t wake up at 3am every morning with the urge to write, which I think is both a blessing and a curse. (I hate mornings, but I would love to write more!)

If you are a writer, how do you feel about the certainty/uncertainty of writing and publishing? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

And just because I love it, here is a new quote photo for I’m Here.

Dear Twin Flames,

I am writing this letter to you. You know who you are. You are the beautiful soul who is in pain right now. You are the wonderful being who is on this planet to make a difference. But in this moment, everything is clouded with the overwhelming and devastating feeling of loss.

Because you have found the one. The one who loves you unconditionally. The one who makes you feel alive. The one who fits perfectly. The one who makes you feel as though you have finally come home.

The one who has left you.

I know you are searching for answers. On the internet, in books, in movies. I know that you are looking for the secret, for the magic spell that will make it all right again. That will bring your Flame back to you, where they belong. And I know you have yet to find it. And that is because there is no secret. There is no magic spell. There is only the truth.

If you wish for a future with your Flame, you must let them go. You must cut the cords. You must say good-bye. And you must move on.

Focus all of your energy on yourself. On your mission, on your health, on your well-being. Focus on joy and laughter, and friendship and the beauty that surrounds you. It is only then, that you might find yourselves back on a path toward each other.

I am guessing that at this moment in time, you are shaking your head and thinking – “This woman has no clue! How could I possibly do any of that, when I feel like this? When I am in this pit of despair? She has obviously never been where I am.”

But I have, dear Flames. I have been there not just once, but several times. And the first time, well, I didn’t think I would survive it. It was so very dark in that pit, no light found its way to me. None at all. And I wished that someone could have told me what I am telling you now.

You will get through it. I know you will. You are much, much stronger than you realise. And though being with your Flame in this lifetime is indeed part of your journey, it is not the entire journey. There are many other reasons why you are here right now. And those reasons are very much worth living for. If you find that you move on, and you do not reunite with your Flame, do not fall into fear or despair, instead, remember what Dr Seuss said - “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”  Last year, I bought a little sign that bore that quote. The reason I loved it, and it made me more joyful, is because I realised, finally, that even though I was not with my Flame at that time, I had been with him. I had experienced his love, I had felt the depth of our connection, I had been completely at home in his arms, and even if I never experienced those things again, I knew I was lucky. Because there are so many souls who have never and might never experience that. I was so grateful to have had those moments with my Flame, and though the darkness without him was overwhelming, I wouldn’t have traded in my moments with him for a lifetime without having ever met him.

And I know you wouldn’t either.

I hope this letter shines a little light in your direction, and that it begins the healing of your heart. It will be whole again one day, I promise. I am sending you so much love and the brightest light to you, my dear Flames, and I am asking the Angels to envelop you in their wings while you heal and nurture yourself. Please, if you are in need of a friend, reach out, send me a message. I do not think I have all the answers, but I can provide an ear and a shoulder.

Love and blessings to you all,

Michelle

xx
