Ling defiantly abandoned her assigned seat to sit beside Orm, fingers entwined. She refused to walk the red carpet solo, instead leading Orm, hand clasped, in a gesture louder than words. Selfies, cheek kisses, a moment of public pride when Orm referred to Ling as her “partner” — the audience erupted in cheers.
