Oyster shooters help.

[image error]Sake, ponzu sauce, shaved green onions and chili.  Yeah…lots of 'em help.

Maybe an oyster shooter sounds gross to you, I mean, two months ago I wouldn't have considered trying one.  Last December, I nearly choked to death on my very first giant raw oyster – but that was precisely because it was a giant raw oyster that still had sand and shell particles clinging to it. Blech.

On my birthday in April, I gave raw oysters a second chance, with Mignonette sauce.  OMG.  OMFG.  I discovered I love...

Now for the good!

1.  He was the best pass rusher in history – no quarterback could withstand the onslaught of Louie!

2.  He played basketball on his hindlegs and caught the ball with his front legs.  He was guilty of numerous over-the-back fouls.

3.  He never met a soccer ball he couldn't pop.

4.  He was the official ball shagger for my daughter's softball team.  He loved Sissy's games!

5.  He understood more English words than most people I know.

6.  Having been born into a German speaking household, he could...

Sorry, no real post today.

Please feel free to take a look around and check out the site, read about my books, upcoming releases, reviews, sign up for my newsletter…Whatever you like.

Here's an update on our boy.  He's improved slightly with massive doses of steroids.  We don't know if this will get him over the hump so he can fight what appears to be more of a viral infection or if the slight improvement is just the steroids talking.  Hubby was man enough to stay up all night with Louie.  I hit the wall yesterday...

Monday was shit.

I don't know how you do it – write when someone you love is sick.

Regina, my heart goes out to you.  I don't know how you find the strength.  I can't concentrate.  My dog is sick and I don't have a lot of hope that he'll survive this sudden, unexplained illness.  I feel like I have a hole in my chest.  Canceled the head shots.

Yeah, I have stuff, writing-related stuff I should be working on, but Louie is my boy and I don't know what I'll do without him if the worst comes to pass.  My mom has...

It's Monday!

So…I have a busy day planned.

First, a mini walk for my sick dog.

Second, a hike with a bunch of hill climbing to work the gluts and the quads.

Third, a shower prior to the haircut because it's just what you have to do, like cleaning your house before the housekeeper arrives.

Fourth, a shower after the haircut to get rid of all the sticky little hairs that will fall down my shirt.

Oh, somewhere in there I need to link you all to my Spotlight over at the Dark Diva's place.  They are featuring me...

This or that?

I recently read a timely blog post, authored by Rob Eager, President of Wildfire Marketing, on the hidden costs of social networking.

I found his take on the subject extremely interesting.  To be quite honest, I'm feeling more than a bit overwhelmed by the time involved in the promotion of my work when, quite frankly, what I'd really like to do is write.  I currently have three works in progress and they need attending to!  I find that I'm invited on a fairly regular basis to participate in...

Failure is always an option.

As many of you know, I've been spring cleaning -

thus the injured back…

So what did I do today?  Well…there's this box, you see, this big box.  This big, fat, full cardboard storage box has sat right next to the head of my bed on my side of the bed for years.  What's in it, you ask?

REJECTIONS…YEARS AND YEARS WORTH OF REJECTION LETTERS FROM PUBLISHERS AND LITERARY AGENTS.

Why, oh why, you ask, would I keep something like that next to the head of my bed?  Am I some kind of masochist?  Well…yes, I ...
