Muse Food – Little Bits Of Magic
When the Dear Wonderful Hubby and I were last in BC, Canada, we spotted this fairy door during one of our treks.
The fairy door was situated at the base of a beautiful tree and was surrounded by brightly painted rocks.
It was a bit of unexpected magic.
We were enchanted by it. (smiles)
It is a good reminder of one of my goals for my stories. I’m attempting to create a little bit more magic in this wonderful, already magical world.

Cynthia Sax Weekly Update – December 31
Strike Zone, the first story in the Dauntless Cyborgs series, is still with my Awesome Editor. We are all on a holiday schedule. (smiles) I LOVE the slower pace.
I did absolutely no fresh writing this week. I spent time with the Dear Wonderful Hubby and I puttered around the basement growing station, dreaming of all the seeds I’ll soon plant.

Gardening Indoors – Snake Plant Reproduction
The ground outside is frozen. It is too early to start seeds indoors.
So I’m focusing on my indoor plants right now.
One of my favorite indoor plants is the snake plant officially known as the Dracaena trifasciata. It is GREAT at cleaning the air. It only has to be watered about once a month. And it grows okay in all types of light, including corners of rooms.
The above photo shows my attempt to reproduce a snake plant by cutting one strand into pieces. YouTube snake plant experts claim this works. As you can see, it didn’t work for me.
I plan to now wait until they reproduce naturally and overfill their pots and then I’ll split them. This takes in our home about ten years to do.
I’m not in a big rush. (grins)

Why Strike’s Story Is Next
In Intrepid Encounter, we met the crew of the Dauntless, Intrepid’s battle station. Every being on and off the bridge is unique. Grid is the jokester. Drift has a need for speed. Cure is focused on curing beings. Choice is the youngest. Strike is the loyal, responsible one.
So why is Strike’s story next?
Strike’s story is next because he’s second-in-command. Similar to how he was the first to volunteer to fight the Valkyrie, he would also be the first warrior Intrepid considers to lead a mission.
And there IS a mission coming up for the crew of the Dauntless. It is important as in save-the-universe levels of importance. (grins)

Muse Food – Brightly Colored Birds And What We Notice
There were a gazillion birds all around us when the Dear Wonderful Hubby and I last visited Curacao. It was magical. That was how many there were.
But, although he was hidden in the trees, we noticed this Venezuelan troupial right away.
Why?
Because of his brightly-colored chest. He stood out.
When I’m describing places or beings or other entities in my stories, I ask myself, “Why do they stand out? Why would another being notice them?” And THAT is what I ensure I include in my description.

My plan for this week is to SLEEP. Stars. I always push myself during the second and third drafts. By the time I press send, I have nothing left in the tank. This week, I plan to rest and spend a bit of time with the Dear Wonderful Hubby.

Intrepid Encounter And The Alliances We Build
The cyborgs are building alliances the old fashioned way – through their version of marriage. (grins) And that makes me smile.
The cyborgs escaped their cruel manufacturers and retreated to a less-traveled sector in space. The warriors have claimed that area, are defending it and intended on minding their own business.
But we love who we love and that forces the warriors to created more and more ties with the rest of the universe and the beings living in it.
This, I believe, will make the cyborgs and others a bit safer.

Throwback Thursday – Warlord’s Bounty
Warlord’s Bounty was originally the first story in the Chamele Barbarian Warlords series. I found Khan to be extremely…inspiring. (grins) He’s the best fighter of the three warlord brothers. He’s very physical, a take action, think later type of alien male.
Zeta, his human gerel (fated mate), is also a physical being. She also prefers to take action.
And the action she plans to take is to capture Khan and trade him for the huge bounty on his warrior head.
Warlord’s Bounty
Wanted: One Barbarian Warrior.
The bigger the bounty, the more dangerous the target.
Khan, a Chamele Warlord, has a huge bounty on his head. His enemy wants him captured and is offering any being in the universe an outrageous number of credits to accomplish that.
