A cyborg and a spy fly into danger.

Drift is one of the best pilots in existence, and he has been assigned a perilous mission.
The G Model cyborg must fly to a distant planet, locate the sector-destroying superweapon the enemy is projected to be developing there, and obliterate that threat to the universe.
When Drift arrives at his destination and meets with an informant, he’s distracted by a mysterious human female seated in the shadows. She’s Drift’s genetic match, and she is the one being he’s destined to care for, claim, and protect.
She’s also a liar and a thief. And she might be working with the enemy.

Drift Would And Drifting
Drift is the cyborg hero in Drift Would, the second core story in the Dauntless Cyborgs series (releasing in July). He’s a pilot and he chose Drift as his preferred name for a reason.
Drifting is, according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, “the act or activity of steering an automobile so that it makes a controlled skid sideways through a turn with the front wheels pointed in a direction opposite to that of the turn.”
Spaceships don’t have wheels but drifting with a spaceship resembles drifting with a car. It is a sideways slide while turning and it requires finesse.
Drift definitely has finesse. (grins)

Strike Zone And Baseball
My Awesome Mom is a HUGE baseball fan. She played semi-seriously in her youth. She was a catcher in a team that toured a little bit. My Awesome Mom knows the sport inside and out.
She watches baseball all year round. Yep, she subscribes to a special channel that broadcasts the Grapefruit League.
The title of Strike Zone is a nod to my Awesome Mom’s great love of baseball.
A strike zone is the area above the home plate through which a pitch has to pass in order to be called a strike. When the ball is in that zone, the batter either swings at it, giving them the possibility of getting on base or, better yet, a home run, or they don’t swing at it and they are that much closer to striking out.
It is the baseball equivalent of do or die…similar to how Strike’s mission is do or die for the cyborgs and possibly the universe.

While attending a party, Kesser, the daughter of her planet’s leader, witnesses the abduction of her best friend and her best friend’s mate.
She’s determined to rescue them. Preferably without fracturing the fragile peace agreement her mom has crafted with the abductors’ planet.
The only issue is…she has never participated in a retrieval mission.
Searching for assistance, she approaches the mate’s guard. The male, with his big broad shoulders and deep growly voice, affects her like no other being ever has.

When a curvy human female with big brown eyes requests his help with a rescue, he doesn’t hesitate to say yes. She’s his genetic match, the one being he was manufactured to protect.
She’s also traveling to the next planet he has to search. He plans to claim his female while he fulfills his responsibilities to his kind.
Neither Strike nor Kesser realizes the dangers facing them are far greater than they imagine. Their enemies are converging, and one failed mission could doom the entire universe.

Throwback Thursday – Dark Flight
Dark Flight is currently the only romance I have published featuring a winged hero. Orol, a modified humanoid, is a being genetically engineered for battle and he resembles an angel. But he certainly doesn’t act like one. (grins)
Having wings changes the way he fights, the way he lives and the way he breeds.
Rhea, the human heroine, REALLY appreciates that. (laughs)

Claiming Cure And Book Descriptions For Pre-Orders
I’ve loaded a book description for Claiming Cure, the third core story in the Dauntless Cyborgs series (releasing in November), to booksellers.
This book description has NOT been edited. It will also likely change. Perhaps significantly.
I hadn’t written any of Claiming Cure when I wrote that book description. It reflects what I THOUGHT the story would be.
But stories change. Often. (grins) Characters have their own agendas and do…well…whatever they like. Cure and his human female aren’t any different.

Muse Food – The Weather In Your Scene
One of the easiest ways, I find, to set the tone of a scene is to describe the weather.
Turbulent weather prepares the reader for conflict and…well…turbulence. (grins) A sunny day is usually a happy peaceful loving day. A cloudy day hints at building conflict. A completely overcast dark day sets the scene for pain and sorrow and death.
