A Chemical #Romance #science
Hi, I'm Pippa Jay, author of sci-fi and supernatural stories to engage your emotions. I'm also a science technician, once an industrial chemist. So for my February post on the subject of love, perhaps it's not surprising if I take a purely technical view on the whole idea of romance...love nounSave WordTo save this word, you'll need to log in.Log In \ ˈləv \Definition of love (Entry 1 of 2)(1):

Kissing and journal making
Happy Thursday from sooooo cold Michigan! Besides being really cold outside, we have been very blessed compared to so many others. The sun was out but it was only in the single digits... You know it's cold when Milo and Charlie don't get wet :-)But I'm not here to chat about the cold, the ice, or the snow, let's talk about.... Love is a slow build in my mind. I know that many people believe in

Here Comes The Bride - Me !
For all the romances I've written, none of them feature a wedding. They definitely have a Happy Ever After but not a wedding, or even a proposal now that I think about it. I think that's because I believe that step is best taken unhurriedly. That getting to the point of committing to a life together is best done once you really know someone, warts and all.Taking that sentiment to the extreme,

2021 Super Bowl Commercial Roundup by Kristin Wallace
Last Sunday was the Super Bowl. While the game is always fun, most of the time I watch to see the commercials. I work in advertising so I guess it makes sense. This is my 4th Annual Super Bowl Commercial Round Up. This year was unusual in that several of the big-name advertisers decided not to run spots and instead donate $$ to charities in light of COVID-19. Still, there were some bright spots.

Beauty of Blossoms
by Diana McCollum "If you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it's your world for a moment." ~ Georgia O'Keeffe The language of flowers has been written about in many, many different books. For the most part the books or articles all agree on the meaning for a particular flower. During Victorian times flowers were used to express emotions when words failed. Red roses are the most

Love in the 1940s by Lynn Lovegreen
The novel I’m currently querying is set in 1941. It’s a young adult mystery wrapped in a love letter to the 1940s, because my parents were teens during that decade. I blame them for my sentimentality. All the movies they raised me on were full of romance. Here’s my totally subjective list of the top five romantic movies of the 1940s, in case you want to indulge in some old-fashioned romance this

Unlawful Orders - Black History Month edition
April 10, 1945The date doesn't mean much to most people. That's because most people have never heard of the Freeman Field Mutiny. 101 US Army Air Force officers faced a possible death penalty when they refused a direct order from a superior officer while World War II raged. This exposed each man to a possible death sentence. Years later, the men also earned Congressional Gold Medals in

Be Careful - It's My Heart by Eleri Grace
The drama and larger-than-life grand love affairs of the 1940s was one of the things that drew me to write romance novels set during the pivotal years of WWII. Everything from the era's glamorous Hollywood stars and box office hits to the crooning ballads of Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra sets the stage for epic love stories. The war provides the perfect antagonist -- it cruelly separates,
