GLBT Rummage Sale and The Telling Sequel

It's that time again! Time for a rummage sale at the GLBT Bookshelf, featuring such well known authors as P.A. Brown, Mel Keegan, Laura Baumbach, and many, many more.

I have a page there, and they also are one of the hosts for the The Telling, a novel I offer as a free gift to readers. If you read The Telling, or even if you didn't, you may find the sequel, Night Watch (available as part of the rummage sale) interesting. It deals with a former soldier's post-traumatic stress disorder and how his partner's love helps him deal with it. Here's the blurb:

Javier "Jay" Ortiz has always considered The Fourth of July a time for celebrations, fireworks, and cookouts – that is, until he met Michael Ritter, a US Army veteran traumatized by the horrors of war. For Michael, the Roman candles sound like rockets and the pops and blasts of fireworks mimic rifles and grenades. When bitter memories suck him into the hell of his own mind, can his partner's love bring him back?

So come on over to the sale and find yourself some bargains! All proceeds benefit the site.

Cover Art Contest at Elisa Rolle's

We've all seen them, covers so mesmerizing that they take our breath away and leave us counting the moments until we can read a particular book. While the author receives the attention, behind each awe inspiring cover is an artist, who receives few of the accolades. Elisa Rolle's Rainbow Awards seek to change that. Check out the competition, and vote for your favorite covers. While I'd love to say, "Vote for me!" this isn't about writers, this is about those wonderful folks who work so hard to grab your attention so that the writer can have a chance to "Wow!" you. Incidentally, the covers of my own The Wish and The Angel of Thirteenth Street were created by the very talented Alessia Brio.

Step on over to Elisa's and show your favorite covers (and cover artists) some love.

Another chance to win Duet

On Saturday, August 28th, I'll be hosting the Torquere Press LiveJournal, along with my good friend and fellow writer, P.D. Singer. If I know P.D., there will be prompt fics and other fun, and there will be a drawing for a copy of Duet, my latest novel. P.D. has a giveaway, too, but not sure yet what that may be. She has a short story coming out that day, building on characters from her novel Fall Down the Mountain, part of The Mountain series.

Here's the link, but remember, we won't be there until Saturday:

Hope to see you there!

Duet is Here!

I woke up (way too early) this morning to find that Duet has been released from Torquere Press!

Although it's considered an historical, half takes place in modern times, and it contains a strong paranormal element. Did I mention it also has a hot guy in a kilt?

Find it here:

Duet - Due out August 25 from Torquere

The countdown is on! August 25, Torquere Press will release my fourth novel, Duet. It's half historical, half contemporary, and very paranormal. Here's the blurb:

The English -- an evil not to be tolerated, or so Aillil Callaghan believes, and Malcolm Byerly, the Kentish tutor his father brings to the Highlands to teach his younger brothers, is no exception. Their affection for the boys and a shared passion for the violin brings the two men together, scarlet fever tears them apart. When a Druid priestess offers her aid, grief-stricken Aillil vanishes into legend, to be handed down from one generation to the next.

Over two centuries later, violinist Billy Byerly’s arrival at Callaghan Castle for a concert feels like coming home. An old man presents him with a strangely familiar violin, and from its strings he draws melodies he doesn't remember learning. Billy doesn’t believe in ghosts, but if the tales of the Lost Laird aren’t true, then why does he dream of a dark-haired, kilted Highlander? And why is he haunted by the strains of a phantom violin?

Two violins, one love. How many lifetimes?

Here's my page at Torquere, where it will be posting:

Changes At Torquere

Good news for book lovers. My publisher, Torquere Press, now accepts Paypal, and offers a buyer bookshelf that enables purchasers to download books a set number of times, in different formats. I personally love this change, for I can keep a PDF version of a book on my laptop, and download a 'to go' version for my cell phone. Paypal also makes checkout a breeze. Way to go, Torquere!

Great News!

Torquere has just accepted my sip, What You Can't Live Without, for their upcoming Charity Sips Blitz. All proceeds will benefit Doctor's Without Borders.

The call was for stories about healing or doctors, with an international flavor preferred. Having been in the country of El Salvador during the devastating earthquakes of 2001, my story takes place in that time and place.

Look for it to release in September. It was such a worthy cause I couldn't pass up a chance to contribute.
