Six Sentence Sunday – 12/5

How about we heat things up a little bit this week? Six sentences from a story I'm currently working on personal edits with, Ragged Edge. If you were around a few weeks ago, you met Dalton and Cade. So how about listening in on Cade while he talks about Dalton to the women they're both interested in–Erin?
Cade shifted in the booth and she froze as he brushed her hair behind her ear. His lips soothed her skin and his hushed words skated across her nerves. "I see how you look at him and I know what you're feeling. You don't understand it, but there's something that's pulling at you. Drawing you into him. He is raw sex and I assure you, completely uninhibited."
For those new to this, the rules are simple:
1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy
2) pick six sentences
3) post 'em on Sunday

Six Sentence Sunday – 11/28

New artwork landed in my Inbox a few days ago. That's right, Midnight's Shadow (set for release in early 2011) has a cover! Check it out:
So, in celebration, I thought I'd share six sentences from it with you today.
Screams and shouts of pain sounded far off and I bit my lip to keep my voice from joining their horrific chorus. The high pitched panic of the sound seared through me and I wanted the noise to stop. The sound stood as a dark harbinger of unknown things to come and I wasn't interested in finding out what else stood before me.
Fear iced my veins and I backed away from the bars only to be met with another solid object. As I fought for breath, I spun around in preparation to defend myself from whatever occupied the cell with me.
Sparkling amber eyes met mine and Wallace's name tumbled from my lips as I launched myself at him.

1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy
2) pick six sentences
3) post 'em on Sunday

State of Sara – 11/22

It's that time again. What have I been up to?
I just finished up my latest work in progress, Ragged Edge, a contemporary erotic romance involving two men and a woman. Gotta say, this whole going into new territory is a lot of fun. I enjoyed writing their story and it tore at my heartstrings as I discovered what made them all tick. Me and my fondness for broken heroes. Right now it's with my CP and once I get it back and whipped into a smooth and polished state, I have to decide what to do with it.
Ragged Edge marks the third full length novel I've written this year. Hardware (which is already out) and Midnight's Shadow (out in early 2011) are the other two. I've nearly finished whipping the third book in the Rebirth series into shape, but I don't expect it to be done until after the first of the year–or close to it.
Speaking of Midnight's Shadow…the first book in that series, Midnight's Ghost, marked a bit of a milestone. Yesterday, 11/21, was the day I submitted it for consideration for publication with Liquid Silver Books in 2009. I can't wait to share the continuing saga of Taran and Wallace with readers next year. All I have to say is two words: shower scene
Now I'll dig my heels into a sci-fi romance short and a co-authored paranormal romance with Stacey Kennedy. This brain of mine needs a break from all the blistering hotness it's been dealing with lately. There's also another short in my brain somewhere that's begging to be told–so you see what I have to work with for the next several months. LOL
On to some self-pimpage:
If you want to see an exclusive excerpt of Hardware and be entered to win a copy, swing by The Romance Studio's four day Release Party where I'm participating. I'll be posting an adult excerpt later tonight, but why not check out

Guest Blog – Stacey Kennedy

Big thanks to Sara for letting me stop by and share my new release, An Everlasting Bite. Of all the characters I've ever written, Rynn and Briggs have topped my favourite list. Why? Well, it's quite simple. Take a broken woman, give her an unbelievably sweet protective werewolf to watch over her and sparks will fly!!
I've always thought of myself as an alpha lover, enjoyed the men in stories to be strong, a bit on the arrogant side with large amounts of testosterone pumping through their veins. Which is why when I wrote Briggs and fell in love with him it surprised me. He is gentle (most of the time), supportive, and considerate. Has my ways of lovin' those men you want to smack upside the head changed? Maybe for now…
So tell me, what type of men do you all swoon over in novels? The sweet ones that melt your heart or the tough bad-asses that deserve a good punch?
Here's a little peek at the story that swept me away, An Everlasting Bite:
Blurb:
Love is born between strangers, yet built upon a bond soul deep―one Alpha's vow to protect his mate from looming danger, all the while, mending her soul and stirring her wolfish desires.
A vicious werewolf attack in Plymouth, Minnesota leaves a young woman violated, bitten and now, transformed into werewolf. But Rynn Murphy doesn't have to face this transformation alone—she has her mate by her side. And the charming Briggs―Beta to the Patriarch, Valor―is eager to ease her into this new life and mend her battered soul.
With only weeks to adjust to her new fur, Rynn, follows Briggs while he assists in locating the daughter of the Montana's Alpha, who was abducted from her home. But this journey is not without danger. And soon, they discover the ones who have taken this young wolf do not want her found and will stop at nothing to keep her hidden. Or so it may seem, as bodies begin to drop around them, the murderous attempts start to appear more as a hit than a smoke screen—leaving only one question, who is the intended target…

Six Sentence Sunday – 11/14

It's, yet again, that time of week, so how about another six sentences from my newest release, Hardware. Patrick's got Allison in a very *ahem* precarious position and tells her all about it.
"You are simply mouth-watering strapped before me like this. Do you know that? It's so simple, how it provides me an unencumbered view to all of that luscious skin of yours. You should see yourself, so helpless with one of my harnesses between your legs. I wish you knew, had some idea of what level of pleasure you're going to find tonight." He made himself remove his hand, step away from her because he wasn't sure he could keep himself under strict control if he continued to touch her.
For those new to this, the rules are simple:
1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy
2) pick six sentences
3) post 'em on Sunday

Free Reads

Added two new free reads to the freebie page, one of which was posted earlier this week at Paranormal Romantics (Up Against the Wall). The other is another step out of the box for me and I may have mentioned it here before, a f/f piece titled Room with a View.
Enjoy!

Six Sentence Sunday – 11/7

It's that time of the week again. Enjoy six sentences from my newest release, Hardware, now available at Liquid Silver Books:
In his mind, she wore an expression of sheer joy and contentment.
He dug his fingers into his eyes, imagined himself climbing into the bed with her to find out how much time would pass before he allowed her to orgasm. His mouth salivated at the thought of that first precious taste of her release as she gave herself over to him.
The need to outright ditch Ryan and Donovan and go to her became a power struggle. His body nearly shook from the desire to have her in every way. However, the thought he would see her at the coffeehouse tomorrow, after a night where she slept with one of her toys placed securely inside her, was an alluring temptation.
For those new to this, the rules are simple:
1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy
2) pick six sentences
3) post 'em on Sunday
