NEWS: Perfect Limit & Blurb

No Gravatar

More wonderful news this weekend, Decadent Publishing acquired another science fiction erotica short, PERFECT LIMIT. Again, something different from me and a short for the Sypricon Masters series. This one has a touch more romance than readers will find in previous short in this same series, IMPULSE CONTROL.

Oh, and all these shorts can be read independently with the only connection being the club. Aside from one or two minor characters, the couple is always different–at least at this point. ;)

As always, more details when I have them. In the meantime, here's the unofficial blurb:

Deputy Brigade Manager Rayna Donaghy is convinced she's imperfect. Abandoned and left for dead, Rayna now lives on Sypricon, a frontier planet known for its scarred surface. After a fatal blaze at one of the planet's quarries, Rayna seeks an escape at the landmark BDSM club, Tawse.

Burke, a Dom at the club, is captivated with the woman who has been under his command for the past several months. However, he's finally had enough of her self-loathing and is determined to help Rayna overcome her fears. In the center of the action, Burke lays her bare for all to see in order to show her being perfect is simply a matter of perception.

Six Sentence Sunday – 3/20

No Gravatar

Six sentences from Broken Harvest, a free read I just loaded up on the Free Reads page. Two things should be noted about this short: 1) it tells of a past event that is referred to in the Rebirth series books, Blood Fever and Forged in Fire, and 2) it is not a happy ending (ultimately, their relationship will be, but this isn't the short to look for it).

The cotton fluttered away, brushed against his leg as it cascaded to the floor. Knowing every inch of her flawless skin was now exposed to him, his hands wanted to be everywhere at once.

Reality slammed hard into his gut however when he felt the waistband of his pants pull away from his abdomen and her cool touch fluttered over his erection. He grabbed for her hands, but she evaded his touched and clamped her own hands around his wrists. She lifted them and pinned his limbs against the arms of the chair.

He started to protest, but snapped his mouth shut when she gave him a stern look.

For those new to this, the rules are simple:

1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy if you're published

2) pick six sentences

3) post 'em on Sunday

Cover Art: Forged in Fire & Impulse Control

No Gravatar

My inbox was kept hopping this week as two covers for two upcoming releases landed there. So, enjoy the pretties! (BTW, I didn't have time to compile my Six Sentence Sunday post this week because my daughter was injured yesterday. She is fine, but a few hours at the ER made for a time crunch today, on top of losing an hour to DST, and coding the SSS site post took priority. Be sure to check out the participants this week over at the official site - http://sixsunday.blogspot.com/)

The cover for FORGED IN FIRE, coming Spring 2011 from Liquid Silver Books:

As vampire Evande Austin tries to adjust to her new found abilities, she can't fight her new reality. She never intended to fall in love with two men. But she also never intended to take Fae blood to keep her alive either.
Trouble lurks in the shadows and Evande fears she will not be able to control the raging blood fever that burns through her because of Quinn. Thanks to Logan, the man who gives her anchor, Evande is able to maintain a thread of sanity in the blinding chaos.
When the Elders strike out and her future tumbles around her feet, Evande realizes the two men give her a bond she can't survive without. They need her just as much as she needs them. Giving into them both could just be the one thing that saves everyone. But one thing remains clear—nothing comes without a cost.

The cover for IMPULSE CONTROL, coming soon from Decadent Publishing:

Planetary Deputy Chief Marshal Selene Orasova is looking for a reminder pleasure still exists in the universe. Fresh off her latest case, she heads to Tawse, a BDSM club on the planet Sypricon. However, upon her arrival she finds the club almost empty as nearly all the staff has been hired out for the night. Disappointed, she starts to leave, only to walk face first into a wall of muscle.

Vaughn, one of the few Doms at the club Selene hasn't been under the command of, is immediately intrigued by the hard edged cop. A few instructions and she's easily under his guidance. However, Vaughn quickly discovers Selene has a problem relinquishing total control. She likes to top from the bottom and that isn't something Vaughn will stand for. Determined to correct her, Vaughn pushes her limits with a little impulse control.

Six Sentence Sunday – 3/6

No Gravatar

How about six sentences from my WIP, a sci-fi erotica short, and the second short in the "Sypricon Masters" series, PERFECT LIMIT? The first in the series, IMPULSE CONTROL, was just acquired last week by Decadent Publishing (you can find the blurb for it here). Now that the craziness of the one year anniversary for Six Sentence Sunday has passed, back to what it's all about. The sentences. As you'll see, the Dom in the short, Burke, is quite a showman:

"She stands before us now because of this man's generosity. Those scars are a result of many painful surgeries. They are visible evidence someone cared enough to take a risk. Yet, despite this second chance, she believes she isn't worthy of time or attention and scoffs at the very notion when I tell her otherwise. Tonight you will have the pleasure of watching as I show her just how wrong she is."

The crowd roared their approval.

For those new to this, the rules are simple:

1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy if you're published

2) pick six sentences

3) post 'em on Sunday

NEWS: Impulse Control & Blurb

No Gravatar

It was a busy weekend for me, at the end of a very long week, but it was capped off nicely with the news that Decadent Publishing acquired my science fiction erotica short, IMPULSE CONTROL. It will be a something a little different than what readers are used to seeing from me, so I hope you'll like it. It'll be the first in the "Sypricon Masters" series, all short stories that take place on a distance frontier planet at a fetish club called Tawse.

I'll share more details when I have them, but here's the un-official blurb:

Planetary Deputy Chief Marshal Selene Orasova is looking for a reminder pleasure still exists in the universe. Fresh off her latest case, she heads to Tawse, a BDSM club on the planet Sypricon. However, upon her arrival she finds the club almost empty as nearly all the staff has been hired out for the night. Six Sentence Sunday – 2/27

No Gravatar

Since I fiddled with my Rebirth series this week, I thought I'd share six sentences from the second book in the series, Blood Fever. The third in the series, Forged in Fire, is due out this summer. And yep, this scene is headed right where you think it is… *cough*

His teeth grazed over the sensitive area where neck met shoulder and I let my head fall back in invitation. I closed my eyes in anticipation of the ecstasy to come but his mouth moved and I fought not to growl in frustration.

"No," he whispered as his lips gently touched my ear. "Open your eyes."

My eyes fluttered open to see leaves swirling a few feet off the ground near us and the sound in the air changed in pitch. My breath left me in a rush as I watched the growing vortex split down the center and suddenly Quinn stood naked amid the chaos.

Comments on blog posts this week will be entered in the Six Sentence Sunday massive drawing. See the site for details!

Six Sentence Sunday – 2/20

No Gravatar

Since it was requested–twice–here are six sentences from my recently completed sci-fi erotica BDSM short, IMPULSE CONTROL.

"I don't know about you, but I can think of a few more entertaining ways to spend an evening."

Her earlier nervousness vanished and was replaced with annoyance. "So can I."

"Tell me." The power behind the command washed over her and touched off fires deep in her belly. She thought she knew what it meant to be under a Dom's guidance, but the authority behind those two words took it to another level.

Seeing Inside the Process

No Gravatar

Remember those six sentences I posted back at the end of January? Yeah..those. Wanna see a little more? We shared excerpts of our WiP's over at Paranormal Romantics this week and I thought I'd post over here too since some of you wanted more. It's adult in nature…don't say I didn't warn you ;)

"I have to work with you, spend time in close quarters until this is over. I thought it would help, but I was wrong. You don't have to answer me."

She moved into the room to put distance between them but he reached out and wrapped his hand around her arm to stop her. "You need to sit down so I can explain."

The command and authority in his voice annoyed her. She ground her teeth together and yanked her arm from his firm grip as she came to her senses. "You lost the right to order me around when you uncollared me, Roland."

"Is that so?" Evidently losing his grip on his temper as well, he slammed the door and crossed to her with two quick strides. She inhaled sharply when he stepped near, his body hard against hers. Memories of what their life together had once been like swamped her mind and nearly choked her with their intensity.

Those memories became more pronounced when he slid his thumb along her jaw. His touch reminded her of the pain and agony he'd caused with his abrupt exit and she used it to fuel her anger instead of the arousal that started to make itself known. "I spent years dealing with how you left. I know you intend to leave after this job is done, so don't make me go through it. Not again."

"So you're saying you moved on?" His breath skittered across her bare shoulder as his hand shifted to collar the base of her neck. He didn't tighten his hand because they both knew he didn't need to.

Lying now would only exacerbate matters, as would the truth. Instead, she chose to remain silent. His cobalt eyes flashed with the knowledge he was right as his head dipped. Hot lips pressed against the side of her neck above where his fingers still rested. Need ripped through her and she fought against the desire she had to do whatever he asked because it went against everything she had shaped herself into since his departure.

"Answer me, pet." His voice dropped low as he said the name he'd selected for her when they were in a scene. His hand shifted, tightened on her neck even as his other hand wrapped around her waist to support her as he knees buckled.

She swallowed, his thumb curving up to caress the sensitive skin under her ear. Her eyes fluttered closed and a low rumble of satisfaction sounded in his chest. The vibration of it shot straight to her core and she felt herself do damp. Judging by the throbbing erection she felt push against her belly, she wasn't alone in her need.

"No." The confession slipped out even as she tried to bite it back. "There's been no one."

His touch withdrew completely and she had a second to mourn the loss before his command swelled over her like a crashing wave.

"On your knees."

She dropped without thinking. The synthetic wood floor was cold against her knees and the discomfort of the position felt like coming home. Her gaze focused on an arbitrary point between his shoes and she released a slow breath as everything inside her went silent. The wait for him to speak again was sheer torture.

"Did you take another Master after I left?"

The demand in his voice sent a thrill through her and she answered him truthfully. "No, Sir."

"So you've let no one master you in ten years?"

"No, Sir." She'd thrown herself into her career to forget about Roland and how he made her feel. How he made her ache for everything he gave her—and more. The idea of another master holding command over her hadn't even entered into her mind. She hadn't wanted anyone else to put her on her knees like this.

Only Roland.

He gave an exasperated sigh and she listen to the shift of fabric as he lowered himself to crouch in front of her. His knuckle grazed over her cheek in a gentle caress. "I'm disappointed, pet. I instructed you to move on and find someone else."

There is no one else, you bastard. She bit her lip to prevent the answer from spilling forth and remained silent. For one moment, she wanted to simply relish the sensations he pulled from her because they'd vanished the second he'd lifted off planet. She needed to thrive again and knew he would give it to her.

"However, your loyalty is commendable and should be rewarded." His fingers fit under her jaw and lifted her chin. Their gazes met and she noticed the hurt in his eyes.

Leaving hadn't come without a cost.

His leaned forward and pressed his lips against hers, teasing and tasting. She opened for him, felt his tongue slide unhurriedly into her mouth. The kiss was slow and drew out the arousal spinning in her core. Sweat beaded on her flushed skin. She wanted more, and found it increasingly harder to keep a firm handle on reality. It was too easy to give into him, give into the roles they'd slipped into in the blink of an eye.

He continued to kiss her as his finger dragged over the gentle swell of her breasts and dipped under the hem of her camisole. The hard ridge of his fingernail scraped over the hard nub of her nipple and she groaned against his mouth. Heat flooded the space between her legs and she felt herself grow even wetter as each second passed. He shifted, drove his tongue into her mouth as his other hand clenched hard against her nape to hold her in place.

Power poured from him, flowed into her and gave her an anchor she hadn't known was missing until this very moment. Here, on her knees for him, she was whole and complete again. The thought was further cemented when his hand turned and pulled the neck of the tank down to completely expose her. Her breasts bared to him unencumbered, he palmed one and pinched the nipple between his fingers.

The pain was immediate and caused her pulse to race. He held with steady pressure for a moment, then released. The surge of pain morphed to an arousal that caused her to grit her teeth in order to not make a sound.

"Let me hear how this makes you feel."

As much as she wanted this, wanted him, she couldn't allow it continue. Her body betrayed her despite the fact her head knew better. He'd broken her and now demanded she take what he offered without question, without explanation or apology and she couldn't allow him to do this. It didn't matter how high he took her, she was well trained enough to know the power was hers and she invoked it without regret.

"Courtesy."

At the sound of her safe word, he immediately severed contact and his hands fell away as he stood. Her heart ached and felt as if it was fragmented into pieces that no longer aligned.

As he swung open the door, he paused long enough to say, "I'm sorry." A soft clink sounded before the door slid quietly closed.

Overcome with emotion, and alone now, her body sagged. She listed to the right and had to put her hands down to keep from collapsing completely. Her breath was ragged as she gathered her composure and it was a few minutes before her legs felt steady enough to provide support.

Standing, her gaze fell to the small oval table next to the entrance. On it laid a small piece of silver jewelry. She recognized the piece as the collar Roland had once taken from her and turned away with a soft cry.

Six Sentence Sunday – 2/13

No Gravatar

My latest novel, Midnight's Shadow, just released this past Monday, so I thought I'd share six sentences from it.

I have two words for you: Shower. Scene.

My quiet sob echoed off the walls in response when he moved almost at once.

I swallowed back the wave that started to wash over me and wrapped my hands around the back of his neck for support. The contact let me see his mind was utterly clear as his focus was solely on me as he sought release again.

"Didn't quite do it for yourself?" I teased, unable to resist taking the jab.

"Oh, fuck no," he said through a tight smile and his hands moved around to my hips to grip them hard enough to nearly bruise them. "Nothing compares to what you do to me."

For those new to this, the rules are simple:

1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy if you're published

2) pick six sentences
