Six Sentence Sunday – 10/10

No Gravatar

For me, the past few Six Sunday entries have been about men fighting or subtle sexiness with descriptive imagery. This week, there are men, but there's nothing subtle about it. ;) Six sentences from one of my works in progress, which doesn't have a title at this point. I keep calling it "The 3 Book" just to have something to refer to.

Secured to the table with bondage tape, Erin couldn't move her arms. Dalton's fingers brushed over her thigh, down her calf before gently lifting her leg. "Normally, I'd bind you completely, but I have a fondness for legs. Specifically yours."

"As in he likes them wrapped around him when you've lost control," Cade offered in explanation as his hand skimmed over Erin's other leg.

Dalton shot his partner a devilish grin. "As in I want to see what they look like wrapped around your shoulders."

For those new to this, the rules are simple:

1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy

2) pick six sentences

3) post 'em on Sunday

Six Sentence Sunday – 10/3

No Gravatar

We're still drying out here on the East Coast from the ocean of water that was dumped on us over the week. Hope everyone who got hit hard is doing well and all of theirs are safe. This week, again, I bring you six sentences from my recent release, Blood Fever. No fighting this week folks ( tho this scene is the precursor to a nice little disagreement), no sexiness either–just plain ole Quinn. ;) *ahem*

There had always been a darkness to Quinn, one I'd willingly surrendered to time and time again even though I would berate myself for it each and every time. There was also a wildness within him that fought against being contained, a beast that protested being caged. He was someone else entirely in bed, but not in a bad way. No, instead it was a different facet to him. It was a hardness, a razor wire that beckoned you to crawl over even though you knew it was going to hurt like hell, but yet you went all the same because you had to.

He demanded, of himself and of his partner, and made no apologies for it.

State of Sara

No Gravatar

Since I haven't done one of these since May, I thought I'd do a little update to catch up. Since the last State of Sara, I released two books: Midnight's Ghost (science fiction romance), the first book in the Star Runner Saga, came out in May and Blood Fever (urban fantasy erotic romance), the second book in the Rebirth series was released in July.

I also sold Midnight's Shadow (science fiction romance), the second book in the Star Runner Saga. It's set for a early 2011 release, more than likely right around January.

My editor and I just finished edits on my next release, Hardware (contemporary erotic romance) and I suspect it should be released soon. I'm really, really excited to get to share this one with readers and can't wait for it to release. It's not too often you find a story where the woman is the 'geek'. And it's an opportunity for me to stretch my wings a little in a new genre and up the heat level even more in my writing. I had a few O_o moments going through edits–"Whoa. I wrote that!?!? That's HOT!"

Speaking of the writing front, I'm working on a few pots at once–which is usual for me. I'm nearly finished with the first "re-draft" of the third Rebirth book, which does have a firm title now. The book was actually completed two years ago, but as I've learned things in the past year of publishing, I've gone back and scrubbed through the manuscript I had. The main plot is still intact, but it needed to be re-worked as I wasn't that happy with what I had. Needless to say, the new draft is nearly done and filled with action, excitement and yes, a firm–and scorching HOT–resolution to the Logan/Evande/Quinn triangle.

I'm also working on a book set in the same small town I've created for Hardware. So, yes, another contemporary for me. :D Again, like Hardware, this book–which is currently untitled–pushes into new territory for me, even further than Patrick and Allison in Hardware do with their…tastes. So if you like full-on triad relationships, this work in progress is going to be for you.

There's also a new urban fantasy romance in the works, this one dealing with sentinels. This one is tentatively titled Fighting Daybreak and deals with an group of lesser Fae who spend their days guarding buildings and their nights saving the world. Yep, they be gargoyles. ;)

I've also got a few chapters hammered out for a post-apocalyptic paranormal romance (wow, say that a few times fast) dealing with shifters. Have to say, I love the characters in just a very short amount of time, so I'm looking forward to diving in with them at some point.

Believe it or not, there's more. Yes, I'm perfectly sane, thanks for asking. :P I'm working on a co-authored paranormal romance. At this point, there are a whole lot of emails being exchanged with lots of  "!!!!!!" in the body of the emails. Needless to say, we're cooking up something awesome. But that's easy, cause she's awesome-sauce. :D

There's also some other things in the works, but it's way to early to mention as I'm still working on plots and such for them. But, this brain of mine, is filled with ideas, stories and characters and I look forward to being able to share them!

It's the first Sunday of fall and the weather here is absolutely gorgeous. Here's six sentences from my newest release, Blood Fever. Two men fighting over the woman they both love – yum!

"No doubt, Quinn and I will be arguing for years to come about one particular subject." He kissed the back of my hand again then pulled away, giving me one last reassuring squeeze before shutting the passenger door behind him.I watched as he strolled up to Quinn and the two men stood, staring...

Blurb for Hardware

Hardware should be shipped off to the proofers tonight. WOOT! So have at the official blurb:

Women aren't supposed to be geeks. They aren't supposed to fix computer networks with expert ease either, but tell that to Allison—the resident computer guru in the small town of Gatlin Falls, Virginia.

Enthralled by watching her work so effortlessly, Patrick agrees to accompany Allison for a night at the movies so he can learn more about her. Even though he's a perfect gentleman who...

Six Sentence Sunday – 9/19

No Gravatar

It's that time of week again, enjoy six sentences from my science fiction romance, Midnight's Ghost.

"What would you do if I kissed you right now, Taran? If I didn't stop with just a simple kiss? If I put your legs around my hips, opening you so that I slid inside you in one mind-numbing thrust? Would you still tell me then you've moved on, that you feel nothing for me anymore or would your voice resonate off the walls when you screamed my name as you came?" His voice was...

Just finished up the first round of edits of Hardware, my first contemporary piece, so why not have a looksee for this Six Sentence Sunday?

He moved away to prepare the double espresso for her and she observed him at work. Those talented hands of his cradled a steaming pitcher as he waited for the espresso to brew. She tried not to notice how his biceps bunched and flexed as he pulled out a gallon of skim milk to dump into the pitcher for the next customer who inevitably came...

Midnight's Shadow – Blurbage

No Gravatar

Here's the un-official blurb for Midnight's Shadow, Star Runner Saga Book #2:

"Some say the ship is haunted…"

It's been two months since the traumatic and life-altering events on Sulis. Wallace hasn't been the same and Taran has spent her nights in an empty bed. When a stranger offers her the opportunity to pilot the extraordinary Spyridon—Taran refuses. There's too much emotional turmoil in her life right now and the less complications, the better.

But Wallace has other ideas...

Six Sentence Sunday – 9/5 (and Book News!!)

No Gravatar

Well, I was all set to offer up six sentences of my next book, a contemporary erotic romance, since edits have started (as, yes, I'm a sicko that enjoys when the edits start) BUT I decided to celebrate something else instead since things were just finalized. So, enjoy the book I just signed a contract for, the second book in my science fiction romance series Star Runner Saga–Midnight's Shadow, for release in early 2011:

The solitary sun beat down on his perspiration slickened...
