Seven Days of CHASING SIN – Day Four

It’s day four of my CHASING SIN seven day event and things are starting to look very, very ominous for the trio of storm chasers. *cue dramatic music* ;)

Seven Days of Chasing Sin

Day One || Day Two || Day Three

~*~

Dark, angry clouds obliterated the horizon when Kate looked out the back window two days later. The storm had slowed to a crawl, then stalled right in the middle of the Gulf, screwing up forecast tracks countrywide. Well, everyone but hers.

The stall had allowed her to pick up some energy and simply lie in wait. The front everyone thought would scoop her up missed by a few hundred miles and now, Hurricane Jean was barreling toward the coast of Texas.

And Sulaco Island.

“She’s coming.”

“Yes, she is.” Tripp gestured to the computer screen and Kate moved closer to peek over his shoulder. The track she’d forecasted earlier in the week showed in startling clarity. The track wasn’t identical to her guess, but it was similar. Luckily, the power of the storm was minor enough not to raise any of her warning flags.

But the path was close enough for a knot to form in her stomach. “Shit. I wanted to be, but I didn’t at the same time, you know?”

Snyder walked up and set a hand on her shoulder. “The order came through about an hour ago while you were showering. The mayor called a mandatory evacuation for the whole island as a precaution. No exceptions.”

Seven Days of CHASING SIN – Day Three

While it’s Six Sentence Sunday it’s also Day Three of my special seven day event for CHASING SIN. So…six sentences from my upcoming contemporary erotic romance (a m/m/f menage) that releases this Friday (4/27) from Ellora’s Cave.

http://www.jasminejade.com/p-10037-chasing-sin.aspx

Seven Days of Chasing Sin

Day One || Day Two

~*~

“We need more room.”

Pushing off Tripp, she stepped out of the water. A quick glance over her shoulder showed the two men standing in the spray of the shower, watching her with unmistakable lust in their eyes. Her yearning for them increased as she let her gaze drop to find two bare cocks standing high and rigid, straining for release. The veins stood out in relief as their hard lengths glistened with water. She imagined them rubbing together and the elegant beauty of it nearly made her come undone.

For those new to this, the rules are simple:

1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy if you’re published

2) pick six sentences

3) post ‘em on Sunday

Seven Days of CHASING SIN – Day Two

It’s day two of the special CHASING SIN event I’m having leading up to release day on the 27th. How about another snippet? I don’t know about you, but I think she’s one lucky girl…

Seven Days of Chasing Sin

Day One

~*~

“We move from place to place depending on how the wind changes. Nothing is going to change that no matter what this is between the three of us.” Tripp stepped around her and his mouth met hers. Despite the fact she didn’t agree, she let herself be swept away by the potency of his kiss.

His kiss branded her, searing her soul with power and emotion. Her arms banded around his neck, her camera falling to the sand as her fingers threaded through his thick hair.

Snyder pressed against her side as she fell deeper into Tripp. She moved her hand to press lightly against his chest, comforted by the steady thump of his heart against her palm. Tripp continued to kiss her passionately as Snyder’s fingers walked up her arm to her shoulder. Their scents mingled with the salty sea air, and her gut clenched at the power of those three aromas.

She shuddered against them both, feeling as if she was truly and completely home once more. Tripp pulled away, but took his time about it. His lips cruised over her face, grazing over each of her cheeks before he separated completely from her.

Her gaze flicked over Tripp’s shoulder where a group of people sat under a large purple umbrella. “We’re drawing an audience.”

Snyder palmed her nape and turned her to him, dipping her so she looked up at his face as the cloudless blue sky framed it. “I don’t care. Let them stare.”

His kiss was softer than Tripp’s, but only for the first few gentle caresses. He nudged with his tongue and slipped between her lips as she parted them. His hold tightened and she felt as if she could easily let him take her right here and now in front of everyone.

He righted her again, their mouths parting slowly as he pulled away. His gaze shone with an intense heat and her body immediately reached for it. Tripp bent and scooped up her legs as he pressed a kiss to her forehead.

“I think someone needs a little cooling off.”

Seven Days of CHASING SIN – Day One

With just one week to go before the release of Chasing Sin I thought it would be nice to offer up daily snippets leading up to release day on the 27th. I’m sure you won’t mind, will ya? ;)

~*~

Snyder’s grip tightened. She had to understand this wasn’t just some ruse to lighten the mood. “No, Kate. Tripp and I are serious. We want you between us and not just during a chase.”

“We’ve watched you take risks for years,” Tripp added. “Now we’re stepping in and asking you to stop because—”

“What? You two feel some kind of need to fuck me? Seriously, where is the camera?” She smiled and shook her head in disbelief.

Snyder frowned. The stress of the day had obviously taken its toll. “No cameras. No joke.” To show her they meant business, he nudged closer to her body, not stopping until he’d backed her against his truck.

He caged her in with his arms, feeling the indentions the hailstones marked in the body of the truck. Right now, he was unconcerned for the bodywork the vehicle would need and more concerned about the sensuous curves of the body pressed against his.

“Naked. Between us. Right now.”

Her grin faltered and she appeared genuinely surprised. “Never would have taken you two for exhibitionists.”

Tripp clicked his tongue. “A smartass comment? Sounds as if it may be too much for someone and she’d rather make a mockery of what we want.”

Her gaze cut to him. “Don’t think I can handle you both?”

Snyder heard the catch in her breath as she spoke and noticed the glimmer in her eyes. They had her hook, line and sinker.

Time to reel her in.

“Prove it.”

Her eyebrow lifted. “Is that a dare?”

The teasing smile she gave made it hard for him to think of anything other than kissing those luscious lips just inches away from his mouth. He reached down to lift her leg, caressing her knee as he wrapped the long, slim length of her limb around his waist. Tripp moved closer and Snyder watched her eyes glaze over as Tripp’s hand skimmed over her hip and slid down to cup her buttock.

A second later, Snyder hissed softly as the tips of Tripp’s fingers grazed over the zipper of his jeans. He pushed his hips forward in response, pressing Tripp’s fingers hard against her. He grinned as Kate’s head fell back against the truck’s window and she let loose a soft moan. His lips cruised over her neck, scenting lavender soap under the layers of fresh dirt clinging to her skin.

“Not a dare. A promise.”

RT Convention Round-Up

I’m back from the Romantic Times Convention that was held in Chicago last week and holy crap!! I’m exhausted. Just last night I managed to extract all the books I hauled back (it’s a good thing I drove, I have no idea how you people who flew manage) and get them in a pile. I noticed I have some duplicates, so I forsee some giveaways. Stay tuned!

Have to admit, I was nervous about the trip. I was going to get to meet some friends that I’ve known online for a few years for the very first time. I respect and admire them, so that made it doubly hard. Funny enough, upon meeting each and every one of them, it was as if we were old friends getting together after a long time of no-see.

That first morning, at the welcome breakfast, one speaker mentioned something about the friends you make at the convention will be lifelong friends and ones you always remember. I didn’t get it then, but by Saturday, trying to say goodbye through tears, I totally did. A few days of being back home and I already terribly miss Liia, Emily, Lisa, Graylin, Kacey and Ash.

Wow, okay, that’s a little melancholy, huh? On a happier note, I participated in the author signing on Thursday during the eBook Expo and Kacey sent me the picture she took!

I also got to meet some absolutely fabulous authors including Francine Pascal. Yep, Sweet Valley High Francine Pascal! That series was pretty much my induction to the romance genre in 5/6th grade. There’s also a hilarious story about our meeting that I’m going to save for another blog post. :D

Six Sentence Sunday – 4/15

Got asked a lot about Hardware this week during the RT convention, so I thought I would share six sentences today. :D

An oath ripped from Allison’s throat as she drenched Patrick’s hand and the leather, but it still wasn’t enough.

“Again,” he demanded, pushed against her over-sensitized muscles again. “Goddammit–I want to hear it.”

She didn’t protest this time and he listened as the oath slid into his name. As she became his, the sound of his name morphed into a scream that ignited his body. He reveled in her loss of control and waited while she rode out the quick-fire series of completely unrestrained orgasms.

For those new to this, the rules are simple:

1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy if you’re published

2) pick six sentences

3) post ‘em on Sunday

Laura Kaye’s WEST OF WANT Preview&PrizesEvent!

The fabulous Laura Kaye is here today with a special contest.

~*~

Happy WEST OF WANT Preview & Prizes Event, everyone! Today, April 10, was the original release date for Book 2 in my Hearts of the Anemoi series, West of Want. And then some really cool things happened: my publisher, Entangled Publishing, signed a huge deal with the nation’s biggest book distributor, which means for the first time ever, my books will be shelved in brick-and-mortar bookstores. And then, West of Want received a very nice pre-sales estimate by the booksellers and Barnes and Nobles bought it for all their stores nationwide (and it got bought for airports, too—squee!). The only bad news in this whole scenario was this: the release date got pushed back, by three LONG months! LOL So, I thought I’d celebrate the original release date with a preview of the book and a big contest, and give you a small taste to whet your appetite until the actual release date arrives.

“Laura Kaye’s captivating writing and vibrant world-building will have readers hooked on the gods of the Anemoi. WEST OF WANT is steamy, spellbinding, and a must-read for all romance fantasy fans.”

~Elisabeth Naughton, author of the Eternal Guardians series

Forty sites are celebrating with me today, and there are different posts at those different sites. To see the whole list of participants, click here. Now, without further ado, here’s the book blurb and one of four different never-before-seen excerpts from the book available for you to enjoy:

WEST OF WANT BLURB:

Betrayal is all he’s ever known, but in her, he’ll find a love strong enough to be trusted…

When Marcella Raines’ twin brother dies, she honors his request to be buried at sea, never expecting the violent storm that swamps her boat. Though she’s gravely injured–and still emotionally damaged from her recent divorce–Ella fights to survive.

Zephyros Martius is the Supreme God of the West Wind and Spring, but being the strongest Anemoi hasn’t protected him from betrayal and loss. Worse, he’s sure his brother Eurus is behind it. When Zeph’s heartbreak whips up a storm that shipwrecks a human, his guilt forces him to save her.

Ella is drawn to the vulnerability Zeph hides beneath his otherworldly masculinity and ancient blue eyes. And her honesty, empathy, and unique, calming influence leave Zeph wanting…everything. When Eurus threatens Ella, she and Zeph struggle to let go of the past, defend their future, and embrace what they most want–a love that can be trusted.

WEST OF WANT EXCERPT:

Zeph’s arms gripped her tighter, yanking her fully against him. The rigid line of his erection pressed into her belly. “You don’t understand how much you intrigue me.” His head dropped so his lips caressed her ear. “You don’t understand how much you attract me. You’re in my head. All the time. You make my heart beat faster, my body ache with want.” He kissed the shell of her ear and moved sinuously against her.

Her body came alive, tightening, opening, preparing. Ella gasped as he nipped and licked down her neck.

Then he growled. “What is this?” He tugged at the fleece collar around her neck.

“What?” she asked, trying and failing to keep up through the haze of lust.

“This…is this a man’s shirt?”

Ella looked down. “Oh, yeah.”

“I cannot abide it.” His mouth dropped open and the dark blue of his eyes flared. “Please,” he rasped.

Ella frowned. “I don’t understand,” she said, but she stepped back enough to pull the fleece over her head. She tossed it to the futon. “It was just my br—”

Zeph’s mouth crushed to hers. His big hands buried in her hair. He pursued her, devoured her. His passion overwhelmed and overpowered. She stumbled back a half step here and there, until her shoulders hit the hallway wall.

Male spice filled her nose and tantalized her taste buds. Jesus, she couldn’t get enough of him. She met him kiss for kiss, stroke for stroke. She sucked his tongue until he groaned deep in his throat, and then she did it again.

He grabbed her hands in one of his and braced them over her head, against the wall. He pulled away from the kiss, but kept their faces pressed together. They were both panting, chests heaving, their clothing wet everywhere they touched. He stroked her face, her neck. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean…I…” He pressed his lips to her cheek. “I couldn’t stand seeing another man’s belongings on you.”

Six Sentence Sunday – 4/8 #sixsunday #eroticromance #menage

Thought I'd share six sentences from my upcoming m/m/f contemporary erotic romance, Chasing Sin, available April 27, 2012. It's the morning after and, for Kate, doubts about what the triad have done surface.

After locating her clothes and washing up, Kate returned to where they still slept. In her absence, Snyder had curled up against Tripp.

Tripp's hair mussed from sex and sleep. Stubble dotted Snyder's jaw. Together, they were amazing eye-candy. They lay in a sweet, achingly tender, lover's embrace she didn't fit into.

For those new to this, the rules are simple:

1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy if you're published

2) pick six sentences

3) post 'em on Sunday
