New cover art for Wounded Cowboy

Uncommon Cowboys Book Four.

Luka is dying. He survived captivity and abuse from the brutal pack that killed his family, holding out because of dreams of a man with big, gentle hands. When Charlie Danvers finds a beautiful scarred man with long silken black hair and feral green eyes, naked and freezing in an April snowstorm, he takes him home to his lonely cabin and will do anything to heal him.

At first, Luka is afraid, even of Charlie. He has nightmares and can't sleep in a bed like a normal person and he can't even figure out how to use a knife and fork at Charlie's table. But Charlie's patience is rewarded as Luka slowly comes out of his shattered pain, helping Charlie take care of the other wounded creatures on his nature reserve.

I'm so happy to have this cover art for Wounded Cowboy, which comes out in early October. The story was really heartfelt.

Straight Cowboy audio book available today

I'll let you into a secret, I think knowing that J.P. Bowie would read Straight Cowboy is a good part of why I submitted the story. The link to the audio book available today is here .

And I finished A Plain Ordinary Cowboy this morning, book five of Uncommon Cowboys. I'm hoping the two stories about twin brothers Luka and Micah will be combined into print. We'll see what happens. Ordinary Cowboy just wrecked me. I'm exhausted from writing another trauma recovery story but I'm pleased with it. I think it ended up being pretty powerful.

Here is the blurb:

Since the night he was hunted because he was different, Deputy Micah Danvers vowed to be 'normal' at all costs. He left behind the wounded boy and now he's dating a nice woman and he's got a good job and a ramshackle cabin to fix up.

But when plain ordinary cowboy Micah rescues exotic and mysterious Sasha from bullies at a local fair, it turns out Sash isn't a woman like he thought. Unconventional Sash is not afraid to stand out—he thrives on it from his nights of dancing around a fire in the nude to the rare breed sheep he's trying to rescue from extinction. Micah aches for Sash, but he'll have to leave the shadows to claim a man who is unafraid of tempting the wolf.

Straight Cowboy available today

The first book in the Uncommon Cowboys series is out today as a single title here . And I can't wait for the audio book to be released. Listen to J.P. Bowie's deep voice reading a snippet here .

I'm almost finished book five, A Plain, Ordinary Cowboy. This one and Wounded Cowboy have been intense emotionally to write since both deal with heroes healing from traumatic experiences.

Taking over the blog--Jambrea Jo Jones

Today I'm launching something special--writers and friends I've met whose work I enjoy get to take over my blog. My first guest is very appropriately Jambrea Jo Jones, one of my closest friends and also one of my betas. She reads just about all my books before my readers see them.

I met Jambrea when my first book came out and she made a strong impression. It was one of those lucky circumstances. It's not an accident that she's mentioned in the dedication of more than one of my books.

Jambrea writes m/m, m/f and menage. I have read her latest Dominate Me and it is sexy and touching. Done right, first person is...well, personal. Now here is Jambrea. You can comment to her and she will answer here.

OH MY GOODNESS I'M ON JAN IRVING'S BLOG!

Whew…okay…I got that out of my system. Lol I just love Jan's work and it keeps getting better and better and to be on her blog is awesome inside of awesome. Heehee.

Why am I here you might ask? Well—I have a book out July 1st. It's called Dominate Me and will be part of a Lust Bite series from Total-e-Bound. The series is called Dark Encounters. That's what I named my BDSM club. You won't have to read the stories in order or even all of the stories. They are stand alone. Some people might show up in various books, but the main focus will be the couple and their experiences. The reason I'm doing them as basic stand alones is because of the pairing I'll be doing. The first story, Dominate Me is about a man and a woman. There will also be a couple stories about two men, I have one with three men, one with two woman and a couple more with a man and a woman. I want this series to be like my motto – love is love, no matter the gender. And I truly believe that.

All of these stories will be in first person and I hope that really gets you into the experience. Dominate Me is in the woman's point of view. She hasn't experienced BDSM in any way but wishing. She isn't sure if it's what she wants, but she finally gets up the nerve to find out. Now—this would be considered BDSM lite. Most of my stories will be that way. I also plan on revisiting my couple in Dominate Me, but in the man's point of view. So you get to see his side. That one probably won't come for a bit because it will be the last story—full circle and all. Lol I do have a couple other ones started and can't wait to get back to them.

Now—here is the blurb and an excerpt to Dominate Me. I hope you enjoy it.

Book one in the Dark Encounters Series.

Be brave, you might just get what you crave…
Elizabeth Conner has secretly wanted the firm hand of a dominant man. A flyer and a friend make her step out of her comfort zone for the encounter of a life time. Is she up to exploring her wild side?

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of mm intimacy and voyeurism.

Excerpt From: Dominate Me

I shouldn't be here. I looked around the room and my stomach fluttered with nervousness. I bit my lip and turned to walk out. No matter what my body thought it wanted, my head was pushing me to leave the club. I almost made it to the door when my phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Elli, don't you dare leave."

"Monty? Are you here?" I couldn't see her, but the club was crowded. How did she know I was going to leave?

"No. But I'm well versed in the ways of Elli. Give it a chance. You'll never learn if you want this if you don't try."

"I should've never told you about my fantasy."

"Yes, you should have. That's what friends are for. Now go find a table and sit down. Tell me all about it tomorrow."

"Okay." I resigned myself to sitting in a corner for a few hours and going home. I hated social situations and the only reason I was here was because of some stupid flyer and talking to Monty about what I'd thought I wanted.

I hung up the phone and waded through to a dark corner.

The ad said Dark Encounters was the place to be if you were into BDSM. Tonight was some kind of mixer to attract new members. Once I'd seen the flyer my body had gone on alert. Then I had to go and tell Monty how the idea had intrigued me. She'd talked me into this hair-brained scheme, and she hadn't even had the decency to come with me. No, she'd made up some lame excuse about her boyfriend needing her for something.

I was lost in thought when he showed up. He wasn't the most attractive man I'd ever seen, but he exuded power and strength with his every movement, he owned the room. His hair was short and black with a little silver weaved through it. He must have been close to forty. That wasn't too bad against my thirty-five. I couldn't really tell what colour his eyes were. They were hidden in the shadow. The man was tall and stocky with a square jaw and high cheekbones, rugged in appearance as if he'd forgotten to shave. The shadow of a beard fit his over all look.

"Is this seat taken?"

Good news

So I can confirm that His Landlady an IR BDSM MF novella I wrote for the Subspace anthology at TEB will be in the collection out in November. Also The Wizard's Boy should be out in November from Total E Bound also. It's the first in a series called "Power Games."

For a peek at what these story lines will encompass, take a look at my coming soon page here .

I have written a blurb for A Plain, Ordinary Cowboy. Have to get that up soon and share it. I wrote half the book in a little over a week. Like Wounded Cowboy, book five in Uncommon Cowboys is also longer than earlier books.

I had this comment recently from a reader that stuck in my head about my Uncommon Cowboys series so I thought I'd share it.

I love the sense of mysticism I get from these stories. Also the theme of healing. I think all the paired couples have healed each other which allowed them to accept themselves--Camjakefan.

Another review for Shy Cowboy

Chocolate Minx at Literary Nymphs reviewed Shy Cowboy. It's nice since she's reviewed all the books to date, I think.

Shy Cowboy is book three in the Uncommon Cowboys series. The plot features danger, secrets as well as revelations, and sensual lovemaking. See the full review here .

A Plain, Ordinary Cowboy, which is book five, is coming so, so strong. Really love writing this series. After I finish book five, the plan is to write book six, A Cowboy in Siena.

Wee excerpt of The Wizard's Boy

I recently finished The Wizard's Boy and things are promising. Hope to share more details soon but in the meantime, here is the blurb I just finished writing for this story--btw, blurb writing is tough, sheesh. ^^

Sand is just looking for a hot night with two dominant lovers when he stumbles on Daniel, a scared kid clinging to his dog, lost on the streets. Sand offers Daniel a home. At first Daniel fries the wiring and sears holes through the roof, echoing the young mage's pain, but slowly he begins to feel safe and not so alone thanks to Sand's quiet understanding.

Years later Daniel works for Sand part time at his sensual night club Shifting Sand but he is a surly employee, hating the many men Sand surrounds himself with. After waiting to claim the beautiful submissive for so long, Daniel tricks Sand into being his. One night to use his power to bring Sand willingly to his knees and show the man he's loved from a distance that Daniel might be young but he's Sand's perfect master.

And here is a small excerpt from chapter two. This is NWS.

Breathless, hand clenched around his tumbler of whiskey, Sand watched his human friend Jeff Michaels slide from his seat at Shifting Sand to kneel at the feet of his master and lover, Jason Lane. Despite the crowd in the club, the faint beat of pulsing music coming from another room that vibrated pleasurably through the soles of the feet and into the balls, Jeff showed no self-consciousness at displaying his loving submission. He rubbed his face against Jason's leather clad legs like the kitten Jason sometimes called him before his hands opened Jason's murder-red colored pants and Jeff eagerly took the other man's erection into his mouth.

Sand could almost catch Jeff's needy sound as he pleased his man, could almost feel the hard floor under his feet and an aching cock that would go untouched unless his master allowed him to rut against him. Damn it, Jeff was a lucky man. He had everything that Sand had wanted for the long empty years of his existence--a master who put him on his knees and made him happy to be there.

Jason's head fell back as his hand gently caressed Jeff's blond hair, his lips parting as he enjoyed the attentions of his boy. He was always gentle with Jeff, except when his werewolf nature dominated. But Sand knew that Jeff enjoyed it, offered himself freely to his lover.

"Why don't you just go over and offer your services?" a voice growled from behind him as a fresh drink was slammed on Sand's table, successfully shattering the pleasant erotic spell.

"Ah, Daniel," Sand said, holding the young man's hot brown eyes which were a contrast to his pale silken blond hair. His skin held a trace of beard shadow but was otherwise smooth and tanned. Unlike the other servers in the club, Daniel was not wearing a loin cloth but jeans and a blue T-shirt which had paint splatters on it. Daniel liked working with his hands and spent his days in a woodworking studio, creating beautiful tables and chairs, chests and bed frames although he still helped out in the club sometimes, possibly because he felt he owed Sand. Sand couldn't be absolutely sure on that one—sharing wasn't something taciturn Daniel did much of.

"Trust you to add to the ambience."

"Fuck ambience," Daniel said, tilting his empty drink tray against one hip. He was slender but wiry, still built like a starved wolf though he towered over Sand now. "And fuck you."

Sand's pulse pounded in his throat. It was always this way with Daniel lately. He worked for Sand but increasingly he didn't like having to be subservient to him at the club.

"Nice," he said lightly, knowing it would get under Daniel's skin and he loved to do that, taunt him, ignoring the voice inside that told him he maybe wasn't wise to do it. Daniel was growing stronger by the day, a powerful mage who wiped tables and gave everyone who hit on him a get lost look from heavy-lidded eyes.

Except his boss, Sand. His eyes were hot and possessive whenever he looked at Sand and Sand could feel it even as he kept the younger man at a careful arm's length.

"You want nice, hire someone else," Daniel muttered. He hopped into the booth next to Sand, dropping the tray and rag and taking a sip of Sand's whiskey.

Sand's gaze went to Daniel's moist lips which looked ruby red under the light of a leather lamp shade from Morocco that lighted his table. He could imagine those lips around his cock, tormenting him with unbelievable skill while ordering Sand not to come. He cleared his throat. "You aren't off for another two minutes, ace," he said, keeping up their game and the pretense there was nothing more between them than employer and employee.

"I never really get off and do you want to know why?" Daniel asked.

"I have no idea, dear boy."

"I'm not your boy."

Shit, Daniel's eyes were almost like a touch, threatening as well as offering Sand the domination he craved. He seemed even more bad-tempered tonight than usual but Sand had been doing a lot of men lately and he knew Daniel didn't like it. He knew that Daniel wanted him under his hands in the stingy single bed where he slept in an apartment over the club.

"I'm celibate because I'm waiting for you."

Sand swallowed around a dry throat, fighting to keep his expression impassive. What was it about Daniel that got to him, right from the beginning? "Well, that puts it on the table."

Daniel snagged Sand's hand as he made to leave, his body running hot now so he needed to find some man, reasonably attractive, human or vampire, and get on his knees and suck him off. It would be enough the way he was feeling so he'd shoot from just the act of giving release to another man.

"I didn't say you could leave," Daniel said.

And Sand caught his breath at the feel of raw power shimmering around the young man like an electrical field.

"Control," he warned softly as the lights in the club flickered. "There are humans here with no idea of who we really are."

Daniel's jaw bunched. "Kiss me. Kiss my lips and I'll put a cap on the power I'm putting out."

"Blackmail."

"Whatever." There was a weary thread in Daniel's voice which touched Sand. He sounded as if he had slept badly the night before. Sand should know since he felt the same way. It was crazy, it had to be wrong, but his blood and bones told him that Daniel was somehow the man he'd searched for over the long years, that he needed to bond with him to finally be complete.

"All right, I'll give you your kiss." Sand agreed. He saw Daniel's pupils expand, almost as if he were one of the werewolves, a predator, instead of a young wizard and one of the rulers of their supernatural world.

"Put your hands behind your back," Daniel ordered, nuzzling him. When had he gotten so close? His breath was warm whiskey against Sand's skin. Without even thinking of it, Sand obeyed, even though he was usually careful who he was seen to submit to here at the club. It was important his powerful clientele respect him so he could maintain order.

"Perfect. You're so perfect like this. I've wanted this for so long." Daniel rewarded him by running a hand over Sand's crotch, touching him through his clothing.

Sand trembled and pushed himself deeper into Daniel's caress, unable to stop himself even though he knew he should not give into temptation. "Daniel, this is a bad idea," he whispered."It'll just hurt more when we stop."

"How can it hurt anymore than it does now?" Daniel asked. "I don't care about the fucking rules, Sand. I don't care if a wizard is forbidden to mate with anyone but another wizard. I've wanted you since I was fifteen." He squeezed more firmly, making Sand hurt, but hurt so good. His head fell back. He couldn't stop himself from surrender now that he'd allowed Daniel to finally touch him.

Shy Cowboy reviewed

Shy Cowboy had an early review at Romance Junkies. Christina said: It isn't very common to find a hero in an erotic romance who has body issues. Cass is a very likable character. His shyness in particular is quite endearing. I really identified with Cass and his uncertainty about his looks. I also sympathized with the pain and bullying he has to endure. I was surprised how quickly I came to care about him. Tom likes Cass just the way he is and that made me very happy. I also liked how protective both men are of one another. These heroes fit together perfectly. They have a strong connection and they are extremely hot together. SHY COWBOY is a sweet and sexy read.

You can read the full review here .

I've heard from a few readers that they are curious if Luka, featured in Shy Cowboy, will have his own book. Yep, it's already written. Wounded Cowboy comes out in October and it's a longer book than the series to date.
