Excerpt from Wylde Man, spin off from Wylde

If anyone wants to email me direct, I put up my google mail address on the user page. But this is it: janmairving at gmail.com

Okay, well, this is an exciting week for me we are coming into. My friend Carolyn Topol's mystery/romance is out on Monday and The Pleasure Slave is out on Wednesday.

I've finished two chapters of the projected ten of this novella, which I'm still trying to decide what to call. It is a spin off focused on Wylde, the boy who grew up alone in the forest of the book Wyld...

News and new yahoo group

Wow, in one week my novella The Pleasure Slave will be out. I'm looking forward to that one, I had so much fun writing it over September.

And a reminder to readers of Wylde that my draw for this Vancouver Starbucks mug that looks like the spooky woods of the cover will be at the end of January. I will ask a question from the book and take the winner from the folks with the correct answer.

On the Wylde subject, I started tinkering with a novella focused on the character Wylde called tenatively ...

Thinking of 2010 story ideas

A small update on what I'm working on now. I finished Luke, really enjoyed working on that one. Sort of mulling over doing a third one called Jesse sometime maybe.

Right now I'm working on The Boxer, a spin off novella of The Janitor.

This is the rough premise:

Dane is hiding problems with his fight-damaged eyesight from his long time lover, Noel. How can he be a man for him if he can't see to fight or to paint? He faces losing it all, everything he fought for. But Noel is not the only one who n...

Coming in March--the contemporary Western novella Sylvan

I thought I should give you guys an update on what I'm doing and what is coming.

First of all I think the order of stories coming out:

The Pleasure Slave: historical novella, January
Mastering Toby: contemporary romance, February
Sylvan: contemporary Western-set romance, March

What am I working on? I got stumped on Sahara Blue for some reason. I'm half way through the novel and just had to leave it for a while. Right now I'm working on a novella set in the same small town as Sylvan, called Luke. ...

Snippet from Sahara Blue

Okay, you'll need some background before you probably will get this snippet. Sahara Blue is the spin off to Mastering Toby, a book I finished recently.

Sahara Blue Drummond is an ex-Navy SEAL who works as a body guard. He's tall, sandy-haired, hard-bodied and fiercely protective of his friends. When Seth's shop is vandalized, Sahara steps in to rescue him, but shy Seth can't believe a man like Sahara would want him.

"I bought breakfast." Sahara held up a paper bag as he entered the bedroom...
