Unplanned event proves very fruitful indeed...

An unexpected and unplanned event at the English Riviera Centre in my home town Torquay today. This was supposed to be my wife's craft stall but she had to pull out of the event at the last minute... so I stepped in to the brink and laid out my books for all to see. What a response with over 30 books sold on the day and numerous local school events booked ... Brilliant!!! I even put a poster up at the entrance to the Craft Fair to let all the visitors know I was in there signing copies of my Bradley Baker adventure books... cheeky me!!! This is Harry... he bought the original Bradley Baker adventure from Waterstones in Torqauy back in November 2009... now he is the proud owner of the two new books in the series... Harry's mum also treated him to a Bradley Baker promotional mug in a presentation box. Brothers Henry and Lewis are now fans of the Bradley Baker adventure books and are pictured here with David Lawrence Jones at the English Riviera Centre in Torquay Leo has been bought the Bradley Baker and the Curse of Pathylon book by his parents and he is thrilled to be having his picture taken with me during the event...
I met a lovely lady called Mary (pictured here with her daughter and granddaughter) who purchased all three Bradley Baker titles for her son, a Doctor who resides in North Devon. It turns out Mary is a medium and she has seen my books as a feature film (spine tinglingly superb if it happens) so watch this space!

Here is Emilie with her grandmother at the table top event in the English Riviera Centre in Torquay. Fellow stall holders and happy to support me with a purchase of both books in the Bradley Baker series.
Its great when the unexpected produces a great result and one thing I learned from today's proceedings is that Bradley Baker certainly has a place (and a following) within my local community.

Amazon sales on the up for Bradley Baker adventure books...

So much emphasis and promotion of the Bradley Baker titles has been focussed on Waterstones over the past few months... and the hard work has paid off with regional programmes now being secured for 2012.

However, the emergence of Amazon sales are coming more to the fore with a continuous flow of orders of the new boy hero books is being reported by my publisher. The demand for the Bradley Baker series is high and Amazon is proving to be a fantastic platform for fans to purchase the books online.

You can check the listings here... Please follow the link to discover the Amazing Adventures of Bradley Baker on Amazon

Signed a few books at Swindon Waterstones today...

I was in the county of Wiltshire today attending a few meetings in connection with the regional book signing tour programmes for 2012. I took the opportunity to call in to the two storey Waterstones store inside the magnificent Brunel Plaza in Swindon. I met with Vicki the store's events co-ordinator and we confirmed my publisher's arrangements for a book signing event on Saturday 24th March 2012, as part of a Cotswolds and Wales tour programme.

Whilst in the store I took the opportunity to sign a few copies of my Bradley Baker books and it was really great to see my adventure stories on the shelves of yet another Waterstone's flagship store. Really looking forward to the signing event in Swindon next year.

More details of the 2012 tour updtaes and venues will be posted here soon.

Books sell out at Plymouth signing event

All event stock copies of Book One - Bradley Baker and the Curse of Pathylon sold out during the 11th leg of the Waterstone's tour on Saturday. And with only 16 copies of book two left at the end of the event, James Yates... the Plymouth Drake Circus Waterstone's event co-ordinator said that the day had proved a great success. I have to say that the professional set up of the signing table and the in-store marketing was brilliant and I can now sleep easy at night knowing that I have presented in front of an official Waterstone's back drop, which stood proudly between the Bradley Baker tour banners.

Here are just a few pictures from the event...

Next stop Bristol Galleries... for the 12th and penultimate event of the 2011 Waterstone's tour.

Tenth Leg of 2011 Waterstone's Tour a great success

I have to say as each event takes place the support from all the Waterstone's booksellers just gets better and better. Gill and Tracey at Exeter High Street organised a very well promoted event today.

It could not have been more visual, with posters in both windows, an 'A' frame on the high street and a signing area to die for right in the middle of the children's section.

The event was busy throughout the day and I sold out of book one Bradley Baker and the Curse of Pathylon. The second book also did well and Bradley acquired lots of new fans in Exeter.

Next stop Plymouth Drake Circus on Saturday 19th November... Hope to see you there ;)

Book Signing Tour... What's happened so far!

The Waterstone's signing tour is causing quite a stir, as both Bradley Baker titles are flying off the shelves. So far I have visited nine stores up and down the UK; starting at Bath and Bournemouth Arcade, with Cribbs Causeway & Galleries Shopping Centre in Bristol hosting the next two events.

The wagon wheels of the tour then rolled into Taunton and then back to Bournemouth (this time the Castlepoint Mall hosted the event). Then I made headway to my boyhood county of Yorkshire to see the lovely booksellers at Sheffield Meadowhall Arcade and Huddersfield.

On Saturday, Cirencester hosted the ninth leg of the tour in the Cotswolds. Next up Exeter High Street and then onto Plymouth Drake Circus before returning to Bristol for the last two events of the tour just before Christmas.

Here are a few pics taken with the Waterstone's folk...

Look out for the next Bradley Baker store events, which are being arranged for the half term break in February 2012... more details will follow soon but rumour has it, that it will be a 9 event back-to-back signing tour of Waterstone's stores in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire!

Catch up soon
David :)
