Cardiff was a hit!
Bradley Baker book signing event was a great hit with all the children, parents and grandparents in Waterstones Cardiff. Special thanks to Miv for setting up a cracking spot at the front of the store and for looking after me throughout the day. Many new Welsh followers of the new boy hero left the store coveting their signed copies and many a broad smile across their beaming faces.
Next stop Bristol Cribbs Causeway... this will be my third visit to the Waterstones store, which is located in the main mall just off the M5. Hope to see some of you there on Saturday 14th April... starts at 11am :)

Bradley Baker starting to feel quite at home in the Cotwolds...
Bradley Baker is starting to feel quite at home in the Cotwolds... Gloucester played host today and a big big big thank you to Becks, Hattie and all the fabulous children's booksellers for their support throughout the day.
It was yet another "Sold Out" event at Waterstones. Back up stock of book one had to be called upon after only an hour into the event so the signings could carry on to the agreed finish time of 3pm. I decided to stay in the store till 4pm with ony 6 copies of book two remaining by the end.
For the third consecutive week the Amazing Adventures of Bradley Baker have been very well received in the Cotswolds region ... Over the next few days, I'll be updating www.bradley-baker.com with a selection of pictures taken during the event, please keep a look out for these :)

Interview with Cotswold TV at Waterstones
Recently I paid a visit to the beautiful spa town of Cheltenham, where I was interviewed by Cotswold TV during a very busy book signing event at Waterstones.
Presenter Rowena asked me about my Bradley Baker children's books and where the ideas came from to write the adventure series.
You can view the interview by copying the following link into your browser;

World Book Day celebrated in Torquay...
I had a tremendous reception at St Marychurch Primary School in Torquay. It was great to be invited back to the school where I launched my children's adventure book series about a new boy hero called Bradley Baker.
I presented to 120 children and their respective teachers from years 3, 4, 5 & 6 in the school hall. We all had a wonderful time enacting a few chapters from the Bradley Baker books. All the children dressed as their favourite book character and it was lovely to see one of the boys in the audience dressed as Bradley Baker... brilliant!
The presentation show was followed by a book signing session and lot's of children went home happy clutching a copy of their new Bradley Baker adventure book. It was nice to meet some of the parents as well.
Great to have yet another legion of Bradley Baker fans recruited and I look forward to my next school event at Torre Primary in April.

Waterstones Tour up North a great success...
The recent tour of Waterstones stores in the north of England during February was a huge success with event stock sold out at most of the events.
Doncaster Frenchgate was the first store to host an event during the half term holidays followed by Sheffield Orchard Square, Sheffield Meadowhall, Scarborough, Leeds, Lincoln High Street, Wakefield, Chesterfield and Huddersfield Kingsgate closing the tour nine events later.
A very tiring experience but very worthwhile and I met some very nice people on my travels. A great big thank you to all the managers and event co-ordinators at each Waterstones store for looking after me and making me feel very welcome indeed.

Foot operation slowing things down a little but a great opportunity to write my next book...
here's a quick entry, as I've been preoccupied with a few things...
On 9th January I was admitted to Torbay Hospital for a scheduled operation on my foot. All went well and I'm recovering at home. The crutches are slowing me down a bit and I have to carry my laptop around in a shoulder bag so I can seaze the opportinty to write when I get the chance. Have to be up and about by mid-february as the book signing events kick in to play... being on crutches should attract the sympathy vote though!!!
I'm utilising the down time to great affect... and I've now started writing book three in the Bradley Baker adventure series. At time of writing this blog entry, I'm about 6,000 words into the novel and hope to finish the initial draft manuscript by end of March for submission to my publishing editor by April. The book will be the third adventure in the children's series and it will be titled "Bradley Baker and the Pyramids of Blood. More on the content to follow in later blog entries...
My illustrator is also busy working on the cover of the new book and the text edits are scheduled into the diary for May/June so all being well we should see the book published by late summer/early autumn 2012.
Tour dates are also starting to build up nicely for 2012 with Waterstones stores throughout the UK being the main focus for book signing events again this year. More info at http://www.bradley-baker.com/ I will also be embarking on a number of School visits around the Bristol area of the UK, as we enter the spring term.
That's all for now, catch up soon! :)
