Happy Friday!

Click here to check out what the other authors are giving away during the Entangled In Love blog hop!

Don't have a Valentine for Valentine's Day? FEAR NOT!
Since my publisher is hosting a blog hop now (see above), I thought this would be THE perfect time to give to you my personal FAVORITE pick-up lines. Maybe it will help you out.

Mostly likely not

I liked these because I laughed when I read them. And if a guy wasn't serious, but using one of these to make me laugh, then these lines WOULD actually work.

(I must be easy)

Anyhew, here we go:

            TOP 5 FAVORITE VALENTINE'S DAY PICK-UP LINES

1)(guy) Hey baby, how much does a polar bear weigh?"
   (girl) "I don't know."
   (guy)"Neither do I, but it broke the ice."

2)"If I could rearrange the alphabet, I'd put 'U' and 'I' together."

3)"I lost my phone number, could I borrow yours?"

4) "Your name must be milk. Because you're doing my body good."

5) "Do you believe in love at first sight or should I walk by again?"

LOL! See? I MUST be easy. :-)

PS: #4 has been used for real by a buddy of my husband's. It got mixed results. :D

GIVEAWAY:
For this HOP, I will be giving away an ebook copy of my romantic comedy A Little Bit Cupid.
This contest will end Feb 15th and the winner will be notified Feb 16th.
**To enter, your email must be in with your comment below.**

Has a pick-up line ever worked on you?
Have you heard any good ones? Or...cheesy ones?

Misc Monday

Happy Monday!

Guess what? I'm trying to potty train my guinea pig.
I was told it could be done. (Although I think someone forgot to tell the guinea pig.)
We're still working on it...
Will keep you posted.
                                                                                 ***

In other news, I hosted a Super Bowl party last night. Found a new drink for it too!
I'm usually a tequila kind of girl. I love margaritas but I wanted to do something different. My friend emailed me a recipe and when I made it, I absolutely LOVED it.
Probably great for the summer, but I thought it went well with chili. :)

It has no name so I'm calling it:

Jennifer's Tired of Margaritas Grapefruit Splash

1/4 c FRESH pink grapefruit juice
1 TBsp FRESH lime juice
2 tsp agave
1/4 tequila
1/4 club soda

Rub rim of highball glass (I used a margarita glass because old habits and whatnot) with lime and dip in salt. Combine juices and agave (or super fine sugar if you don't have it) until sugar dissolved. Add tequila and ice then top off with club soda.

Refreshing and yummy! Not too sweet either, which I like.

                                                                              ***

On the book front, I'm over at Ex Libris blog sharing some Valentine's Day funnies--ya know since my novella A LITTLE BIT CUPID is kind of a romantic comedy.
Fun stuff!
Stop by and share a funny/ Chance to win a copy of A Little Bit Cupid. :-)
  Did you watch the Super Bowl? What did you think of the half time show?

My Valentine's K.I.S.S

Happy Friday, all!!

Let's see so much going on today...

First: Classical musical is cool again!

Well, I always thought it was cool...

But anyway, I saw these two guys on the news this past week and was blown away when they did "Highway to Hell" with... cellos.
Here they are doing "Smells like Teen Spirit".

They ROCK!!!

Literally and figuratively

Second:

I'm guest blogging at my good buddy Diane Estrella's blog today!

I'm talking about how I love the simple things on Valentine's Day, hence the KISS (keep it simple stupid)

Stop by!

Chance to win my Valentine's Day book
A LITTLE BIT CUPID!

Oh, and if that wasn't enough, I saw that  Books on the House is giving away my A Little Bit Cupid book along with the book 33 Valentines (which looks super cute too!)

Still want a chance to win Kissing Kendall? You can stop by Manga Maniac Café and enter the rafflecopter there!

That's it. I promise. :-)

Have a great weekend!

I'm hosting the Super Bowl. We (hubby and I) will be making meatballs and sausage sandwiches, chicken white bean chili, and vegetarian chili.

Have you heard of the Two Cellos before?
What are your Super Bowl plans?

Misc Monday

Happy Monday, all!!!

My mind seems to be all the over the place these days, so the best I can do is a miscellaneous kind of post. Sorry.

*Deal with it*

First, I ask you to watch this video.
No. I'm BEGGING you to watch this video. Or at least 30 to 45 seconds of it. That might be all you can take.

It's weird. I like Mick Jagger. I like David Bowie.
I was an 80's child, so I even liked this song and...I'm afraid to admit this video as well.

However, looking back on it today, I find it incredibly creepy. And sickening.
And, well, just plain ugh.

I don't remember it being that way. It's just so funny to look back on things with different eyes.

Anyway, enjoy...

Secondly, Amazon has my blogging bud, Julie Jarnagin's book Canyon Walls on sale for 99 cents. So grab while it's cheap! I'm reading it now and really enjoying it. :-)

And lastly, I'm over at Ramblings from this Chick talking about a topic I talked about here  few years ago: On Beginnings and Endings of Books . If you haven't seen it, then stop by and give me your take or what is more important.
Chance to win a copy of Kissing Kendall.

And that's it from me!

Enjoy your week!

Do you remember this video? Did it creep you out too?

Almost but not quite blogged out

Happy Friday!

Still finishing up blog posts and interviews for Kissing Kendall and A Little Bit Cupid.

Note to self: do not try to do two blog tours at the same time ever again.

As a result, I haven't had a chance to work on my WIP or work on anything new. Wah.

But here's some other blog fodder for you:

Did you happen to see my tweet on Wednesday?
Women look their oldest at 3:30PM on Wednesdays.

Yeah.

Good to know?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm knee deep in reading because I'm helping judge the RITAs. I have only read one of these authors before and they're all very eclectic romances.
So this should be interesting.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Got a nice little email from Amazon telling me my book Georgie on His Mind is finally available in kindle for $2.99.

(When it rains, it pours, folks)

This has obviously been a busy few months for me. :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And lastly, I have a picture of Rocco, my new guinea pig.
Isn't he cute?
New Pet!
Happy Monday--and MLK day!
Everybody is home today so I'll keep this brief.
We have a new pet.
A Guinea Pig.
Rocco.
He's so sweet!! Still a little shy though so I don't have pictures yet, so allow me to describe him in my best romance author voice:
His hair is the color of snow. But he was saved from looking common by the dustings of brown he had on his coat as well, as if he spent a lot of time rolling around in caramel and chocolate syrup.
Got a visual now?
Rocco was one of those let's-go-to-the-pet-store-and-get-a-guinea-pig kind of moments.
We've wanted to get a pet for the kiddo for a while and although I'm still looking for a dog and checking rescue shelters in my area, this will hold us for a bit. :-)
Pictures to come!
In other news, I'm guest blogging today at Simply Ali--talking about hero names. Come on over and chime in on what kind of names you prefer!
Peace out!
Anybody have a guinea pig or have one growing up?
Coming Out of the Dark Ages...
Well, it's probably going to snow--or maybe the apocalypse will finally happen now.
Yes, that's right.
I.
Got.
An IPhone 5.
I know, right? Do I really need it?
Well, YES.
It's sad but when I'm away from my desk too long, things tend to build up.
I've wanted a smartphone for THE longest time. And since all my friends have IPhones, I finally went to the store and got all hooked up.
Now I'm scary.
Bye-bye, pink whatever kind of phone you were. -->
But what's the first thing I did?
I went and added emojis to my keyboard because I HAVE to text with fun little faces. Because that's the way I roll--er, text.
So I only know about 1/10th of what I can really do with this thing. I added Twitter and Facebook apps.
That is all.
Do you have a smartphone?
Any cool/fun apps I should know about?
Also, check out my ADORABLE (can I say that about my own book?)romance
New Release!!!!!!
I know what you're thinking.
You're probably wondering what the heck is going on with Jennifer and all the new releases. And also, what the heck is going on with Jennifer with all the hearts on all the covers.
Well, both just kind of...happened. :-)
Anyhew, I went back to my romantic comedy roots and now have a novella called
 A LITTLE BIT CUPID, now available at B&N and Amazon!
Only 99 cents!
I have to say, this story isn't just cute.
It's uber cute.
No.
It's HELLA cute.
And I'm in LOVE with the cover!!
Soreness, Snubs and other Stuff
Happy Monday!
Soreness:
Let me tell you, I can barely type this post.  I re-started P90x last week and I'm really feeling it.
It's actually kind of depressing because I used to do these workouts about as easily as drinking a cup of coffee and now I'm struggling. But I'll get back to where I was.
Eventually.
Snubs:
In other news, I can't help but feel a little sorry for Ben Affleck for getting snubbed by the Oscars. Yes, I know, that poor multimillionaire. I haven't seen Argo--but still want to (and Lincoln and Les Mis)--but I hear it was really great.
Other Stuff:
Thanks you to all my bloggy friends who were able to stop by for my blog tour all last week. It was exhausting but I had a lot of fun. **also be on the lookout for my new Valentine's Day novella being released this week.  A LITTLE BIT CUPID. It's SUPER cute!** I will be sending out emails to the winners, but if you happen to see your name on the list and do get an email, you can also contact me (jennifer AT jennifershirk DOT com)                                            Here are the winners:Monday:  (Musings from an Addicted Reader) Southpaw
Tuesday: (My Devotional Thoughts) SusieQ
Wednesday:  (Kaisy Daisy) Christine D
(Welcome to my World of Dreams) Kim
Thursday:  (Everyday is an Adventure) Emily
(It’s Raining Books) Josie Hink
Friday: (A Chick Who Reads) Linda Kage
Whew! And that's about it from me.
Have you seen Argo? Do you think Ben Affleck should have been nominated?
Have you started an new exercise routine this new year too?
New news and old news
Yay, it's Friday!
This has been a looooooooooooong week for me. Christmas decorations are done (not put away) but Christmas tree is STILL up and decorated.
Don't judge me.
I have a p90x workout and hair appointment waiting for me, so I'll make this brief:
New News:
Did you see my Tweet yesterday? 'Fifty Shades of Grey' parody musical coming to N.Y.
Yes. Seriously.
According to the NY Post, “The opening scene centers on a middle-aged ladies’ book group, then plunges, like a cougar’s neckline, into sketches making fun of the erotic, best-selling novel.” The show comes complete with a live band and 11 original songs, including “They Get Nasty” and ““I Don’t Make Love, I “F#*!,” per the Post.
Where is the apocalypse when you really need it?
Old News:
Still on book blog tour!
Today I'm over at  A CHICK WHO READS talking about how Kendall's doughnut muffin came to be. :-)
Giveaway:
I will be awarding a free ebook of Kissing Kendall or an ebook from my backlist (winner's choice) to a random commenter at each stop. (There must be a minimum of 5 comments on each blog for a winner to be chosen). Hope you can stop by!
Have a great weekend!!
