The Four Realms Book Trailer

One little known fact about The Four Realms book cover by Matt Cauley was that it was actually constructed as several different layers to allow for the animation seen in this video. Darren Byers is responsible for this excellent book trailer. Feel free to repost, retweet, and embed to your hearts content!

New Geocaching Article At GPSTrackLog

gpstracklogIn between all the book promotion I’ve also been continuing to do my columns and my latest one is now out.

Over at GPSTracklog my latest Geocaching column has gone live with a look at Field notes. It’s surprising just how many cachers don’t know about them so I go over the basics and the methods I use to make the best use of them. Whether you are a smartphone or dedicated unit user, there’s information that could be handy to you (and preps the way for my next article in the new year on using G...

The First Review At The Eloquent Page

elopageEverything seems to be going at a hundred miles an hour at the moment. One minute I’m waiting for the book to come out, the next it’s out, people are reading it, I’ve been interviewed and now reviewed. I don’t think any of it has really sunk in yet and I’m like a listless over-excited kid on a post-xmas comedown. I feel like I want to sleep for a week. Unfortunately, I’m working over xmas.

I’ve been nervously awaiting the first review of The Four Realms. I mean, I know I love the book as does...

New Interview Over At Manga Maniac Cafe

mangamI took a few days off from the day job so to use up some of my remaining holiday entitlement and to try and get my Xmas shopping done, but as you can imagine, things have been a little crazy. Yesterday was spent following the madness that is Amazon Sales Rank and willing the book up the various best seller charts so I could take screenshots of it in lists with authors who I admire. Today has been spent getting the book trailer ready (it’s really, really good!) and waiting for the delivery man...

The Four Realms Arrives Early For Kindle

amazonI’m beginning to think that bringing a book to publication is a bit like a wedding. In your head, you have this perfect image of what it is going to be, and no matter how hard you work, reality chips away at that image changing it into something different. Like the bride in all those Wedding comedies, the author desperately holds onto the dream of an event they’ve been waiting their whole life for, whilst chaos reigns around them. Eventually, they give into reality and learn that it’s just as...

The Four Realms Now On Goodreads

goodreadsEverything seems to be picking up speed as we head towards publication. It feels like an unstoppable juggernaut speeding up and my emotions seem to waver between excited and scared.

The latest milestone is the addition of the novel to Goodreads. Now everyone can add it to their must-read list and tell the world just how much they loved it once read. Check it out (and add it… or else!) HERE.

I’ve been busy working on other promotional stuff that should get announced sometime over the holidays or...

eARCS Of Four Realms Now Available

4realmsSo when your forthcoming novel gets described as “what we believe is the BEST Anarchy Book yet!!” that’s some accolade; when that accolade comes from the publisher themselves you break out the ‘never seen in public’ snoopy dance. But don’t worry if you think they are probably a little biased towards the novel as we’ve sent it out to a legion of the world’s top reviewers for them to publish their own views over the coming months.

However, if you are a book reviewer that I missed on my original...

Final Installment Of The Craft Series For Fantasy Faction

ffI’ve been a little busy to give this series of articles the publicity they deserve but the last in a series of five articles by me on craft has gone live over at Fantasy Faction. The series spoke to four authors for their viewpoints about various subjects to do with breaking into the industry. I’m really please with how they turned out, and if you haven’t done so already, you should check them out. The latest and last, to do with criticism, went live today. Look for a new series of articles i...

The Next Big Thing

So as you may be aware there’s been this meme going around various authors’ blogs called “The Next Big Thing” which is just an excuse to talk about what you are currently working on. As crass as that might sound, I’ve enjoyed reading other authors’ responses and was delighted when Anne Lyle tagged me in her blog post last week – because as friends will testify, I do like to talk about myself … and plus, I do have a book to promote, which makes it justified to talk about myself.

So here are my...

A Quick Update

So as oft happens when I’m busy, I don’t get time to blog about all the things that are happening. And typically, those are the times when I have potentially the most interesting blog posts to make. Instead, we’ll just have to make do with a summary of everything that has been going on.

I came down with a nasty cold whose cough pretty much wiped me out. My hacking caused me to pull quite a few muscles and at one point totally lose my voice. The voice has returned, the muscles are still sore. A...
