AUTHOR INTERVIEW: Shari Maurer
Shari Maurer is the author of Change of Heart, a YA novel published by WestSide Books and now available. She joins us as part of her “You Gotta Have HEART” blog tour.
In a world where the most stressful thing seems to be winning a soccer game or what to wear in the morning, you take some really basic things for granted.
Like the love of your parents.
Or hanging with your friends.
Or the beating of your heart.
When you’re 16 years old, it never occurs to you that you might die. Emmi Miller’s...

More great uses for FREEFALL bookmarks!
As you may recall, last week I received my FREEFALL bookmarks and demonstrated possible uses for them. Then I mailed bookmarks to people who requested them. The bookmarks have now been sent to a variety of states throughout the U.S. as well as to Canada and Philippines. They'll be heading to Brazil this week, too.
Yeah, they're international.
Today, I got to see how nonnymouse_ uses her FREEFALL bookmarks:
Awesomeness.
Love. It.
Thanks so much for sharing the pics, Laurie! ♥

Email insanity.
Somehow I managed to do something wacky to my Blackberry so that I lost all my contacts on the phone UNLESS I have a certain email account turned on. That particular account has been having a lot of action lately, so the dinging was happening all day long and even into the night. I actually got out of bed once and switched my phone to silent because it was out in the dining room waking me up.
For three nights in a row, I dreamed of little except emails. All those lines and lines of text in ...

Friday 4 (because 5 is just one too many for me)
Four things that please me this week:
1. This is what all of my email in-boxes looked like yesterday: Empty! And the folders are all organized as well. Of course, the emptiness hasn't continued since I put out an offer to mail FREE AWESOME BOOKMARKS (and the offer is still open, just so you know), but I'm keeping up on it. So far so good.

2. I have tickets to see Silversun Pickups on July 31st!

3. Over 450 people have added FREEFALL on Goodreads! And I don't even know most of them!

Bookmarks!
I got a box yesterday. A box that is filled with 5,000 strips of glossy paper. This is what it looks like inside:

As you might notice, those strips are the artwork from the FREEFALL cover in bookmark form! (Bookmark design by Shane from Dwayne's band, Alabaster). Fun, right?
Since the FREEFALL bookmarks have arrived, I've found a number of different ways that one can use them.
1. You can build a falling-down one-story house of FREEFALL bookmarks:

MEMORY LANE: Starstuck by Charles R. Cross.

This was my nametag. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------->
I also wore cute outfits from Ann Taylor Loft, the agent at my pitch session requested the partial of my manuscript FADED AS MY JEANS (which caused me run into the bathroom afterward to cry with joy), and one of my friends from my writing class placed in a contest at the aw...

My Friday 5 - on Saturday, of course.

An email I sent four years ago -
I've written exactly one fan-girly email in my life. It was on July 12, 2006, and it said this:

John, I recently took that quiz thang on LJ and got LOOKING FOR ALASKA as my result. I decided to read it. And now I have. I want to tell you that you are a beautiful writer... but what I really mean is that you write beautifully. Truly. What an amazing story. Thank you,Mindi
*sigh*
Wasn't I just the cutest thing?
John did write me back, which was really cool! (This was several months b...

AUTHOR INTERVIEW: Allie Larkin

Savannah “Van” Leone has loved Peter since the day they met. The problem is, Peter has loved Van’s best friend, Janie, since the moment they met. And now they’re walking down the aisle, with Van standing nearby in a Halloween orange bridesmaid dress, her smile as hollow as a jack-o-lantern. After the wedding, Van drowns her sorrows in Kool Aid-vodka cocktails and reruns of Rin-Tin-Tin, and does what any woman in her...
