Movies

My husband and I watched the first half of an Indian movie tonight called Jodhaa Akbar. It's a five hour romantic drama and we've only finished the first two hours. We have to watch it subtitled and the special effects are a bit cheesy so we fast forward through the battle scenes. They have battle elephants though they aren't armored and don't really seem imposing to me. The romance is interesting because its between a Muslim prince and a Hindu princess. He allows her to set up a little temple for her own worship and keep her traditions and holidays. It reminds me of Ren's parents. Plus the prince isn't bad looking except for the mustache, and when he catches her checking him out during sword practice he shows off his muscles which made me giggle. For those of you who don't know, female actors in India are not pushed into doing intimate scenes, including kissing, and so far in this movie they're sticking to that rule. It may be boring for you but for me it's one of the easiest ways to do research. Also one of the Indian songs is on one of my playlists. I think Curse. Now I finally get to see what the words mean. I think it fits pretty well.

Welcome

Thanks to a wonderful lady's suggestion. I finally took the time to figure out how to work with goodreads. I'll try to post interesting news and events in here as well as on the facebook page and on my website. If you need that info the web address is www.colleenhouck.com. The facebook page is called Fans of the Tiger. We just posted the video book trailer for Tiger's Curse on the facebook page. It's not on the website yet becuase my brother just moved and he hasn't unpacked his computer. I'm trying to be patient. Have a great day!
