Where are you building your beautiful castle?
So many buy into the entrepreneurial pipe dream (borrowed from Field of Dreams): “If you build it, they will come.”
And so, they build their beautiful castles (courses, websites, etc)…
…in the middle of a bog where no one goes.
And then they wonder why there isn’t a line of clients waiting outside their virtual door.
And then there are those who are a little savvier and build their beautiful castle in the middle of a bustling city…and still have no one lined up to work with them.
Why?
They haven’t enticed them to enter the castle. (In fact, some people in their target audience might even believe they aren’t worthy of the castle.)
What does this all mean? You’ve got to meet people where they are, and not expect them to get all the things you are throwing down in front of them.
And it can take a bit of effort to do that
… or at least it used to.
I’ve found a way to get people lining up to experience your beautiful castle because they see your authority. They see your value. They see you.
But I’m not quite ready to reveal all the deets yet, at least not publicly.

Want a short-cut?
In the world of comics, there are three ways superheroes gain their powers: By birth (think Superman), by training (think Batman), or by some freak accident (think Spider-Man).
In the real world, however, you can’t gain great skill through some freak accident, which leaves us with birth or training. And so, it is with the skill of entrepreneurship.
Many people thinking about making the leap from employee to entrepreneur wonder, “Do you need talent to succeed as an entrepreneur?”
Thankfully, the answer is not really… well-honed skills can make up for a lack of talent. And talent won’t get you anywhere if you don’t develop the skills.
In fact, often those who appear to be “natural-born” Superman entrepreneurs are really Batman entrepreneurs in disguise, having spent a great deal of time becoming good at marketing, business, sales, and the other skills that make a successful entrepreneur.
But who has the time to wait for all that? (am I right?)
What if I told you that I’m building a program that can give you a shortcut and a leg up? (Kind of like a radioactive spider.) What if you could have many of the foundational pieces you need to jumpstart your entrepreneurial journey in about three months? (Kind of like Batman’s utility belt.)

National Hanging Out Day
Today is National Hanging Out Day, a day dedicated to the classic way of drying clothes … on a clothesline. Frankly, I hang dry probably 30-50% of my clothes to avoid shrinkage or increase the lifetime of iron-ons. When you have long arms and legs like I do, you do what you can to avoid having to buy new clothes just because they ended up in the dryer! So, any other folks “hanging-out” like I do?

Have I been mansplaining?
So, I was talking with one of my mentors last week and with compassionate tough love she said that my long, educational, social media posts were too long for Facebook and the equivalent of mansplaining. What do you think? Do you agree?
PS: Just in case you didn't know, mansplaining is, at its essence the explanation of something in a manner regarded as condescending or patronizing.
