The Ideal Book Length

What is the ideal book length? Does such a creature exist?

Alas, the answer is both yes and no, because the real answer is “it depends.”

It depends on a variety of factors that I discussed in a recent podcast. And, even considering those factors, the answer is a moving target. All anyone can give you are guidelines … and then you need to write the book as long as it needs to be.
