Become the 1%

In 2002, a survey shared in The New York Times, found that 81 percent of people surveyed wanted to write a book. Looking at a number of surveys over the years, I discovered that of those who say they want to write a book, only 15% actually start. And, of those that start, only 8% actually finish.

To put this into numbers that are a bit easier to understand, if you start off with 100 people, 81 want to write a book, 12 will start, and 1 will finish. Therefore, only about 1% of the population will publish a book.
