Today celebrates the day in history when Neil Armstrong, representing all of humanity, first stepped foot on the moon. On that fateful day, my father, mother and I were in New York en route to Nairobi where my father had a job teaching African history and other subjects at Kenyatta College (now Kenyatta University).
