PAX! Ah-ahhhh!

I'm doing the theme to the 1980 Flash Gordon movie in the title there, in case you could't tell. I'll totally be at the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle this afternoon and all day Saturday and Sunday! We don't have any sort of official presence at the con or anything (PAX is playtime for me, not worktime), but if you're local and have a book you'd like signed, or just want to say hi or kick my ass at Dominion or Small World or something, follow me on Twitter! I'll be endeavoring to tweet regularly throughout the weekend, and we usually spend huge chunks of time just chilling and playing board games and stuff. Plus, they're only expecting something like 65,000 people this year, so chances are good we'll just run into each other anyway.

Joined google+, y'all

I just signed up for Google+ , and it's awfully lonely over there so far, so feel free to add me, even if I don't actually know you (if everything works as planned, you should get added to a special "people I don't actually know" circle, and receive witty comments and Chooseomatic-related updates, while being completely oblivious to the inevitable OMG I AM SO DRUNK posts.

Of course, this plan requires that I successfully navigate the g+ circles menu at that level of inebriation. Hmm.

Kongregate: Don't waste your money. Waste your TIME

I haven't posted on favorite Thing Ever recently, so here you go: my ode to Kongregate . You want free internet games to suck away all the hours of the day and prevent you from getting anything actually important done? You're welcome.

For all you zombie lovers

I just noticed that Amazon has the Kindle edition of Pride & Prejudice & Zombies (along with its various sequels, prequels and spinoffs) on sale for 99 cents as part of their "Big Deal" promotion! Looks like the sale goes until July 27, so go snatch up some zombie bargains for your kindle (or smartphone, or PC, or tablet computer or what have you).

Of course, last time they had a big sale my Kindle sales plummeted for like a month and a half, so it goes without saying that you should buy any of these books IN ADDITION TO Zombocalypse Now , not IN LIEU OF. (See, that's marketing there, folks).

Book reviews made METAL

FREAKING AWESOME. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to get someone to screech their opinions of Zombocalypse Now to a death metal soundtrack. Thanks to Imogen Rose for pointing me to this, I WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN.

iBooks edition is here!

phone

Zombocalypse Now has finally been released for iBooks (an occasion that coincides nicely with Apple's newly iTunes-integrated iBookstore). I can personally verify that the book looks great on both the iPhone and iPad -- and the touchscreen makes links from one page to another even easier to navigate than they are on the Kindle.

The book is $2.99 in the iBookstore, so check it out! (And if you're already a fan, I'd be thrilled to death if you'd look up the book in iTunes, and rate it, review it and/or tell your friends!)

zombie fin del mundo en España?

Google alerts tipped me off to a review of ZN on a European blog called sacodedados.com which I can't really read, but I'm nevertheless utterly delighted by. From what I can tell the blogger is somewhere near Madrid, Spain, and I was able to use translation software to get a rough English translation. Very rough, in fact:

The author of Zombocalypse Now, Matt Youngmark, a talented writer whose head is shaped like a 12-sided die, parody, and while claiming classic books Choose your own adventure with this book, which he was commissioned to illustrate.

I've never had anyone describe my head as "shaped like a 12-sided die" in any language, but I do believe that I can now die happy. The review is quite extensive and features a whole mess of pictures (including one that doesn't even appear in the book and I think is only available on my deviant art page) and is, from what I can tell, glowing.

Keep in mind that there is no Spanish edition of Zombocalypse Now, so I have to tell you that this little bit of international neighborliness just tickles me freaking pink.

Redemption! For cheap!

Hey, remember a couple of months ago when I posted about some other choose-your-own-ending epics you could peruse while on pins and needles waiting on me to finish the next Chooseomatic book? Well, one of those books had a sequel hit the interwebs recently, and for the next few days the Kindle edition is on sale for a measly 99 cents . I just downloaded my copy -- the first book in the series, The Adventures of Whatley Tupper , was a hoot, and The Redemption of Mr. Sturblock looks like more delicious, wacky fun.

It's a buck, people. Snatch it up!

So close to the Apple store I can taste it

Mmmmm, appley. Just a quick update for anyone hoping to buy Zombocalypse Now from the Apple iBookstore: After a long, strange trip (ZN's choose-your-own-adventure format ruled out some of the more popular ebook aggregators), Apple appears to have approved the book's submission, and I'm just waiting for it to go live. So feel free to keep compulsively searching for the book on your phone, like I am, so you'll know THE EXACT SECOND I DO (following me on twitter or facebook would also get the job done, I guess).
