Do people from Bellingham call themselves Bellinghamsters?

The crazy-ass cavalcade of conventions continues: this Saturday it’s Bellingham Comicon. I’m new to this one too, but it sounds like they put on a pretty great show. So if you’re a Bellinghamster I hope to see you there (and maybe some Vancouver folks that I missed at he Mega Con? I guess it’s only like an hour away.)

Knowing myself as I do, it seems unlikely that I’ll remember to take any photos, but if I do you’ll be able to find them below.

Vancouver Mega Comic-Con

I’ll be at the Vancouver Mega Comic-Con (that’s how they hyphenate it — I checked) this weekend, so if you’re nearby, come by the con and say hi, eh? (See what I did? That’s a little CANADIAN for you)

If this YouTube video doesn’t get you excited for it, NOTHING WILL.

Seriously, though, this is the first year of this event, and I’m hoping they have a big enough turnout to make it an annual thing. So come help us make it awesome! You can get tickets here.

Tacoma Zombpocalypse Saturday, Sept. 29

I’ll be at the 2012 Tacoma Zombpocalypse Festerval and Preparedness Expo tomorrow! It’s the first year they’ve done this one, so I don’t know entirely what to expect, but according to this News Tribune article, one of the ideas behind the festival is to communicate actual disaster preparedness info, using zombies to get the message out to the masses. Sounds pretty fun, actually. Tickets are $12, with various discounts for public service employees, military and kids.

I’ll once again be sharing a booth with author pal Katie Cord, who has promised to spend the day all decked as one of the zombie bridesmaids from her book, He Left Her at the Altar, She Left Him to the Zombies. So that should be worth the price of admission right there!

Jet City Comic Show!

JCCS

I’ll be selling books at Jet City Comic Show this Saturday (Sept. 22), so if you’re near by, come by the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall and say hi!

Jet City is a cool, one-day show focused on comics, comics, comics — don’t expect any movie or TV folks there trying to woo the lucrative geek demographic. Jet City is more of a for us / by us con for comic fans, and I’m excited to be a part of it this year.

Plus, admission is only eight bucks, and they’ll be selling exclusive Jet City posters to raise money for Seattle Children’s Hospital.

DOOOOOO IT.

Come see us at Crypticon!

If you’re in or near Seattle, and want to get your freak on at the region’s largest annual horror convention (I don’t actually even know if that’s true, but I feel like it probably is), swing by Crypticon at the Hilton right by the airport down in SeaTac. We’ll be holed up in the dealer’s room all weekend, selling books and making dreams come true. I’ll be sharing a table again with Katie Cord, author of He Left Her at the Altar, She Left Him to the Zombies, and we’ll be offering the same tag-team zombie book deals that were such a hit at ZomBcon last October.

Also, after the vendors shut down Friday and Saturday, you could PROBABLY convince us to grab drinks with you in the hotel bar, I’M JUST SAYING.

You can click on the icons below to see all my Crypticon photos, as I take them, if I actually remember to take any photos at this convention. It’s a game we can play together!

The first image is one of the buttons I started making for the con before I was informed that I misspelled the word “Cthulhu” (thanks, Mel!) and had to throw a bunch away and start over.

Thanks, everyone

The amazon bomb yesterday was a smashing success (an exploding success? There must be some kind of "bomb" pun I can throw in there). Thrusts of Justice peaked at the top of Amazon's bestsellers list in the "superheroes" category, and still sits atop the list of "hot new releases" there. I just wanted to thank everyone who picked up a copy, and who helped spread the word through facebook, twitter and the like. I'm basking in the warn glow of your awesomeness.
