Reading Poetry
"Do you know what is wrong with people who never read nursery rhymes? I will tell you. When little boys and girls grow bigger and older, they should grow from the outside, leaving a little boy in the middle; even when they are quite grown up, the little child that once they were should be within them. But some unlucky people grow older from inside and so grow old through and through."

Plasticizing
If I had a penny for every dish my children have broken over the years, I'd be rich. As much as I would love beautiful glasses and very fancy tableware, the fact is I'd be continuously buying them on a regular basis. Sadly, they are more expensive than paper dishes, so what is an alternative? Plastic.
Grant it, I do try to save the nice glass dishes for company, but 
sometimes I'm serving up delicious meals on chipped China.

There is nothing like fresh corn on the cob. Where we live there is an abundance of fresh corn during the summer, and it can be purchased very inexpensively.
