New Deathly Hallows clips and behind-the-scenes footage on Dutch TV

This interview with Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson from a Dutch television program has several new Deathly Hallows clips that look really fantastic. There's also some great behind-the-scenes footage in this video. Look for the Harry vs. Ron fight, the Harry and Hermione dance (she looks so sad–Harry is trying to cheer her up a bit), Ron about to smack Kreacher for insulting Hermione (lol!), Harry entering the frozen pool, Harry and Ron vs. the Locket, the Seven Harry Potter scene, and more! The interviews are great also. :)

Deathly Hallows Film Clips: The Diner and Malfoy Manor

Spoiler warning! Here's a film clip of Harry, Ron, and Hermione at a muggle diner in London.

This clip is the Malfoy Manor scene in which Harry, Ron, and Dobby rescue Hermione from Bellatrix. Wow! I really want to see this film right now.

I love the way Hermione runs right into Ron's arms. :) Helena Bonham Carter was fantastic as the deranged Bellatrix LeStrange. I also like that Draco doesn't put up a fight when Harry takes the wands from him. I think Draco is secretly horrified by what his Aunt Bellatrix has been doing to Hermione and disturbed by the fact that his father would deliver Harry and his friends to the Dark Lord.

Entertainment Weekly's Deathly Hallows Issue; New Trio Pictures

Entertainment Weekly's Deathly Hallows Part One Issue

To read about the latest issue of EW, go to http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/11/04/harry-potter-deathly-hallows/. Check out the Harry, Ron, and Hermione morphing videos at the bottom of that webpage. They're really cool! :)

You can read EW's cover story here: http://www.rupertgrintphotogallery.com/displayimage.php?album=1497&pos=2

I found some new photos of the Trio in EW on tumblr today.

"The Boy Who Lived," "The Smartest Witch of Her Age," and "Weasley is Our King!"

Ron & Hermione. Ron has that "don't mess with me look" doesn't he?

Behind-the-Scenes: So this is what being splinched looks like. Ouch! Poor Ron. ;)

I think Harry is trying (and failing) to destroy the Locket Horcrux in this picture.

Of an upcoming SUNDAY TIMES interview with Rupert:

On speaking of his big moment that all seven books had been leading up to, "The kiss happened quite naturally, and in the second part of Deathly Hallows they're really quite couply, holding hands a lot. It wasn't like it came from nowhere. It was quite a tricky kiss, a bit strange, but quite sweet really. It was just one shot, but we had about six takes".

Ron has "attitude" in this film. Now that's the Ron Weasley I know from the books.

Harry Potter fans, share the love. Please tell others about this blog. And thanks for all of the comments. :) You know how much I love sharing spoilers with ya'll. ;)

Lectures on Tolkien and Harry Potter at Fandemonium 2010

The "Fandemonium" programming track of the 2010 Red Stick Animation Festival will feature two of my lectures on Christian themes in Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings and J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Both presentations will be given on November 13, 2010 at the Hilton Capital Center, located at 201 Lafayette St. in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. You can read more about this exciting event and view a programming schedule at http://www.redstickfestival.org/events_schedule.asp?Day=Saturday.

The presentations that I am giving are at 12:00 noon and at 3:00 p.m. I'll also have copies of my book, The Lord of the Hallows: Christian Symbolism and Themes in J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter to sign if you are interested in obtaining a copy. The book is also available at www.outskirtspress.com/thelordofthehallows if you wish to purchase it online.

Here are some of the rave reviews that the book has gotten so far:

"Roper is a talented writer that obviously double checks all her facts, and she writes her literary criticism in a very professional and scholarly way. I'm glad to have a copy and enjoyed every page."—J. W. Braun, author of The Lord of the Films: The Unofficial Guide to Tolkien's Middle Earth on the Big Screen

"There is a danger in being friends with John Granger, and that is in assuming that all the symbolism in the Potter books has already been discovered. One of my chief criteria for a book examining the Harry Potter series is that it add something new to our collective knowledge of them. This book met and surpassed that criteria."—A.T. Ross, Literary Scholar

"This wonderful book will delight not only Christians, but all students of spirituality and mythology. It is filled with fascinating arcane information, yet the author's engaging and descriptive style results in a text that never feels weighed down by its rich content matter…. Anyone interested in literature and religion will find this volume to be a valuable addition to their library."—Logospilgrim, author of Bring Forth the Best Robes: A Spiritual Understanding of Severus Snape

"She has produced an extremely well-researched scholarly work that will appeal equally to fans of epic fantasy and those interested in modern religious literary studies. I enjoyed the book very much, and found her arguments compelling."—Rob Hermanowski at www.goodreads.com

"This slim volume, which belongs on the shelf beside John Granger's The Hidden Key to Harry Potter and Connie Neal's The Gospel According to Harry Potter, endeavors to prove that, like C.S. Lewis in the Narnia books, Rowling has successfully managed to sneak an explicitly Christian message ―past watchful dragons. While this is, of course, not the only way the Harry Potter books can be read, Roper convincingly argues that Rowling demonstrates an impressive command of Christian symbolism and themes, and that the books tell a story not only compatible with, but deliberately echoing and reinforcing, the story of Christ. Roper's own knowledge is extensive, and I learned a number of new things myself."—Janet Brennan Croft, University of Oklahoma; Editor of Mythlore, the scholarly journal of the Mythopoeic Society.

Grimmauld Place: Sleeping Trio, Harry Finds Lily's Letter, & More!

Here are some great pictures of the Trio at Grimmauld Place. I love the one of them asleep in the drawing room.

Did Ron and Hermione fall asleep holding hands?

I also loved the moment in which Harry finds the first page of Lily's letter. Hopefully we will see the other half of this letter in "The Prince's Tale" in Deathly Hallows Part Two.

Harry finds his mother's letter and the Trio discovers the true identity of R. A. B.

More R/Hr hand holding!

I love that Ron and Hermione are holding hands at the beginning of this video. Apparently Hermione does dance with Krum ( who is looking quite handsome! ) and Ron gets jealous…

Ron is just too cute in his wedding outfit!

More Ron/Hermione Moments in Deathly Hallows

From my tumblr blog:

Ron/Hermione angst: "I get it. You choose him."

Ron, under the influence of the Locket Horcrux, thinks that Hermione has chosen Harry over him.

Rupert and Emma are going to be amazing in this scene! She cries when Ron leaves her. I know I'll cry when I watch this part of the movie.

The Escape from Malfoy Manor

This is just another example of how exciting this film will be.

Behind-the-scenes picture of Rupert and Emma in London

I had to post these cute pics after all of the Ron/Hermione drama. This one is to cheer you up!

Adorable R/Hr fan art from deviantart.com. So cute!
