The future!

Hey guys! First: a big thank you to everyone who came out to the release party! I'll post some pictures on Thursday, but basically: a bunch of you showed and we had a lot of fun! Today's update is crowd-sourced comics ... I don't know how successful they were, but we had fun at least. 

Okay ... let's talk about THE FUTURE. We've got some comics to post this week, but starting next week we'll be posting Lucky Penny. We'll start at the beginning of the book and keep posting from there. This'll allow Yuko to focus on just one project, something she hasn't been able to do for a few years now. We posted an excerpt a little while ago - it started here. We're really excited and I hope you like it!

V3 RELEASE PARTY THIS SATURDAY!

We're doing a release party for JW:V3 on Saturday at 7:30 PM! It's at Bergen St. Comics and we are super pumped!! I hope we see you there! We're going to try to have a projector set up so we can play some drawings games. Here's the info:

 Hey guys!  Ananth is out of town for work stuff for a few days so I'm filling in.  You might notice a handsome new banner ad on the right, leading to the Johnny Wander section of Hey Chickadee!  I'd like to think I've designed some neat stuff for them and the folks there make really lovely high-quality charms and jewelry.

And to remind you again, we're having a release party this Saturday!  It would be rad if you could come by.

Rook wants me to know that he is going to Die if he doesn't get fed soon, so I'll see you guys Thursday!

JW:V3 Release Party February 16th @ Bergen St. Comics!

GUYS! We're doing a release party for Vol. 3 on February 16th at Bergen St. Comics! We'll have copies of the new book and probably some other stuff, and we'll hopefully have a projector set up to play some drawing games with you guys! IT'S GONNA BE SUPER FUN I hope we see you there!

V3 release party!

We're going to be doing a release party for V3 in mid-February! More details as we get them, but I wanted to mention it. The venue is once again the lovely Bergen Street Comics. 

For those of you who preordered V3 through the Kickstarter: we made a backers only update! Here's a photo from when the books arrived on two pallets:

The books should be available online at Topatoco in the near future! We'll keep you posted.

Guys! Our pal Magnolia is running a Kickstarter to fund the first book of Monster Pulse, her really exciting comic about kids & monsters!

I think Magnolia is really great at dialogue and writing complicated people and I can't wait to get this book in my hands!! It's going to be great!

Also, pal Megan Baehr is looking to rebox her Nonesuch dolls. The dolls are super cute and really sturdy - I commissioned one for Yuko's birthday a few years ago and it's lovely. Check it out:

It's me, I promise! Or is it ...

I love how Yuko drew this one, ahhhhh! She's wall-eyed with fear & concern in the last panel, good, good. This is the latest in a long series of comics about coffee. I still like sweet coffee, but two shots of unadorned black coffee really do it for me in the morning these days. I have a series of tiny mugs that I drink out of. 

Actually, this puts me of a mind to remind you that we have an awfully handsome coffee mug on sale over at the store!

January has been a hectic month! We've done a good bit of traveling for work and we're basically nose to the millstone every day. I think we're making headway but truthfully it can get tough to tell! BUT WE'RE GONNA DO IT.
