Zannibal Lecter
Janine brought Aslan by earlier so he could show off his new headgear. Very Zannibal Lecter. "I'm not allowed to eat fava beans," says Zannie. "They're kind of gassy."
"You don't look so big and tough now," taunts Charlie.
But Zannie doesn't care. He enjoys looking like a Prius.

Charlie's new trick...
Randy has taught Charlie a new trick. He calls it "Pay the Phone Bill."
I have a feeling the phone company's not going to be quite as entertained as I was.

Adult Beverage: Rogue Chipotle Ale
We're working our way back home after our seaside vacation, spending tonight in a La Quinta in White City, OR. Earlier this afternoon, we dropped by the Rogue Creamery in Medford, and I was in the mood for something spicy, so I picked up a Rogue Chipotle Ale...
Rogue's Chipotle Ale pours a hazy honey with a thick, clumpy, sticky off-white head. Sweet malt and floral hops on the nose, with a ton of smoky pepper. Sweet on the tongue, with spicy chipotle peppers quickly dominating. This one's a lip burner. Light mouthfeel, nice and creamy, with just enough carbonation to keep things interesting. Spicy-sweet finish, with a lasting back-of-throat pepper burn.
"Don't forget the cheese," reminds Maddie.

Beach Reading
Enjoying the day in Lincoln City. We wandered down to the Beach Dog Cafe for breakfast, then espresso from Pacific Grind, followed by a trip through the local farmers' market and a walk downtown. And I found a little something to read at Bob's Beach Books, Best Ghost Stories of M. R. James:
So now we're reading, with the sounds of the surf in the background. And Maddie's napping. After all, it's been a full day.
