Humanity at its Finest…Not!

Now that at least here in Czechia, the lockdown is coming to an end, I’m feeling a little nostalgic for it to be honest. I am for personal freedom and I think the state has acted in a heavy handed manner – one I never want to see repeated. But that is a different topic. This weekend, my fellow human was out and about and frankly, some of us don’t deserve to be let out at all, ever.

Yesterday – it was a Saturday, I was treated to a return of the idiot driver. Within minutes of getting on the road in my car, a motorcyclist overtook me and another car on a dual carriageway by blowing between us. He failed to see or simply ignored my right turn signal (I was in the outside lane) and missed death by centimeters. Just a few kilometers further and another motorcyclist decided I wasn’t going fast enough passing me on the inside in the bus lane. Then, as I drove down a beautiful windy road in between limestone cliffs and along a flowing river at about the speed limit taking in the magnificent views, I was treated to car after car who felt I was not going fast enough and it would be good to drive 1 meter behind me and see if I could be pushed. I couldn’t. So then of course, I was treated to acts of idiocy as these people passed me where they should not doing speeds they should not. It was Saturday. Where on earth could these people be going in such a hurry?

The best was yet to come. Driving along, I came to a section where roadworks meant it was single way and a light system allowed for alternating traffic. There were two sections of this roadwork so as I pulled up towards the second light, I had passed around 100 meters of more of backed up traffic wanting to go in the opposite direction. Now I stopped at an orange line marked on the road about 15 meters before the light. Here, there was a T-junction and a few cars backed up into it waiting to get onto the main road including one very large and fancy Mercedes. He seeing the traffic and seeing the gap left between me and the light thought you know what – this doesn’t apply to me in my big fancy Mercedes, Noooo, I will overtake the lot of them. So he pulls out and comes face to face with me and the 15 or so cars behind me. Did he acknowledge his mistake? Did he own up to being a prize prick? Of course not – he tried to push me and 15 cars behind me backwards….. and then our light turned green. And I pulled forward, showed him my middle finger and shouted something apt in his direction and he finally realized he was going nowhere. These people? Where do they come from?

Anyway, tonight, I took the dog for the usual walk around the castle. It’s so amazing to walk in nature in the middle of the city. To look at the fading blossoms, watch the birds and simply sigh a sigh of amazement at nature. Yet, today, my sigh was one of frustration, sadness and anger as I found the path littered with glass bottles – beer, gin, vodka – plastic bags, discarded paper cups, piles of cig ends and sweet wrappers. And not just in one location – but all around the castle. I picked some up and placed it in the available trash cans placed every 50 meters or so… Now whoever did that – a curse on you ….you don’t deserve to be let out.

Two Newly Dressed Up Compilations

A couple of years ago, in a fit of madness, I created two new compilation books. For some reason, I gave them very similar names and then sat back and forgot about them. Then the other night when counting sales and so on, I realized that these books had bad titles and horrible covers. So I redid them.

Your Haunted Lives Extreme Edition (Compilation Volume)

[image error]For some reason, I had the great idea to make a compilation of the best selling Your Haunted Lives with its follow up, Your Haunted Lives revisited but to call it Paranormal Eyewitness!?! I’m not sure what I was thinking as the My Haunted Life series’ compilation was always called My Haunted Life Extreme Edition. The cover was also truly awful. So, here we go – an all new cover, all new price and a much more meaningful title – Your Haunted Lives Extreme Edition – out now.

Inside you will find a lot of really scary ghosts stories, poltergeist, demons and so on.

Your Haunted Lives – The Extreme Edition (Compilation Volume) by G. Michael Vasey

Over the last few years, Paranormal bestseller, G. Michael Vasey, has collected real, haunting, paranormal accounts from around the world. From ghosts to demons… from poltergeists to Black-Eyed Kids. All are included in this compilation.

These stories are all real. If you have ever been interested in the other side, or inspired to read about the paranormal—this should be your first stop. If you’re a believer—you already know what this book will entail. It will offer more proof of the most complex phenomenon the world has ever known.

Your Haunted Lives – The Extreme Edition from is a collection of G. Michael Vasey’s Your Haunted Lives books. Your Haunted Lives was a massive supernatural best seller on Amazon and. Its follow up Your Haunted Lives Revisited also exploded onto the true ghost story scene. Now, you can get them in one mega compilation volume…

Turn the lights low, lock the doors and snuggle up with this collection of tales that will make your blood curdle.

Paranormal Eyewitness Compilation (Tales from the Shadowlands)

[image error]This one was correctly named but the cover was awful so I changed it. This book is a compilation of the Paranormal Eyewitness short series that I did that included the BEK, Poltergeist and Ghosts of the Living and, for good measure, we also included Ghosts in the Machines! Its a great value book!

Paranormal Eyewitness Compilation – Tales from the Shadowlands – by G. Michael Vasey.

This chilling mega-compilation volume combines the Paranormal Eyewitness Kindle Shorts series (The Black-Eyed Demons are Coming, Ghosts of the Living, Poltergeists – The Noisy Ghosts) and the Kindle short – Ghosts in the Machines – into one blood curdling volume of true tales from the shadowlands – 160 pages of horror!

You will read about Black-eyed kids, Poltergeists, Ghosts on the telephone, and how living people can appear in two places at once in this all new mega-compilation volume from paranormal author – G. Michael Vasey.

In the shadowlands, strange and often terrifying things happen to ordinary people just like you and I. Read about other people’s strange experiences and learn what they may signify.

Chasing the Shaman – Reviewed by Sue Vincent

By Sue Vincent

It feels rather odd, being in a book. Not as one half of that semi-fictional pair, ‘Don and Wen’, but as yourself… especially when it is written by someone else. But it does show how much our human stories intertwine, and how, when paths cross, magic can happen. Not just in a symbolic sense, but in a very real way.

When Stuart and I started writing out our adventures in The Initiate, we had two things in mind… to record the journey for ourselves and to share it with others, hoping they too would find a way to connect with the land in which they live.

One of the first people to read The Initiate was my long-time friend, Gary Vasey. He was excited by our story and emailed me saying that we had ‘somehow managed to tap into the land’. My friendship with Gary is as strange as anything in the book. We had met online in pretty odd circumstances a good many years before. We had written The Mystical Hexagram together a few years later… and met in person only once, long after that, when business had taken us both fortuitously to London.

Several years later, we finally managed to meet up again. This time, Gary came to play out with Stuart and me for the weekend. Living in the Czech Republic, he was missing his connection to the land… and he will not mind me saying that it showed. But, by the end of that weekend, he looked a very different and much younger man.

That weekend, following part of the path Stuart and I had taken for The Initiate, rekindled something for Gary; the ancient peace of Wayland’s Smithy has its own way of healing and it was the beginning of a new adventure as Gary began to reforge his connection with the magical life.

That story is his to tell… and he has done so in a new book, Chasing the Shaman.

From the ancient sites of Albion, to the mysteries of the Templars in the Czech Republic, via myths, leys, dragons and Slavic deities, to the strange and unsettling encounters with the work of a shaman in the middle of Brno, Gary shares his journey back to the Goddess, the Divine Feminine, whose balancing influence is so often lacking in a patriarchal society.

Back in 2013, I shared a poem that Gary had written…The Ache. The longing in that poem has, at last, begun to find a home.

The book is open and honest, adding new insights to those he shared with Inner Journeys: Explorations of the Soul. It describes a personal journey from feeling adrift to finding a connection to the life of the land. In many ways, brings its author back to a path he had never truly left.

Chasing the Shaman:
The Magic of Connecting with the Land
G. Michael Vasey

Accidentally stumbling upon a Slavic shaman engaging in a ritual catalyzes the magic of connecting with the land. Trapped in a foreign land and wondering what fate held in store, I find myself re-engaging with my inner contact Asteroth thanks to the timely intervention of friends.

Gradually, I become aware of a whole new world in the Czech Republic and in pursuing this, magic happens. The discovery of Dragons, Templars, Earth energies, and the Slavic Gods around Brno gradually opens up a new world and a different perspective on life.

A follow on to Inner Journeys: Explorations of the Soul, the magical journey of reawakening continues thanks to good friends and a chance encounter with a local shaman.

Magic is real. You just have to let it in to your life.

Available in Paperback and for Kindle via Amazon

Book Stats

Last night, for some reason, I spent several hours updating my book sales spreadsheet. I had the last 12 months or so to fill in so it took quite a while. I have several years of sales data now in the spreadsheet. It was an interesting exercise….. here is what I learned.

I have sold around 18,000 books excluding my business books.

[image error]My all time best selling book is Your Haunted Lives which has now sold around 3500 copies. For three to four months, this book was selling over 120 copies a month! Released in January, 2016, it went to #1 on Amazon in multiple categories across the supernatural genre. It is available in ebook, paperback and audio nook formats. These days, it still sells double figure every month but is well outsold by the book that sold far and away the most copies last year,

Chilling Tales of the Black Eyed Kids released in late 2017, it didn’t have that sort of performance at first and looked like it would tank. Then slowly, it began to sell in reasonable numbers and still moves 30+ copies a month. So unlike Your Haunted Lives, it was never a big hit on Amazon but, it has moved 1150 copies and counting. It is a compilation of my BEK books and they have been popular in their own right with The Black Eyed Kids – Can We Come In? also selling 1400 copies and the shorter and now unavailable independently The Black Eyed Demons selling another 500. So this content has moved almost 3000 books. Not bad.

My first paranormal book – My Haunted Life – also did quite well and has sold in excess of 1500 as has its supernatural hit follow up – My Haunted Life Too. When you add these two, My haunted Life 3 and the compilation version of the series, its another 3800!

[image error]A surprise for me was also God’s Pretenders that was one of my earliest books yet still sells steadily. It has now totaled almost 1000 sales. The Scary Best of My Haunted Life Too released only in mid 2019 is also doing quite well and has racked up more than 350 sales already.

My worst selling books are the poetry of which I have several volumes one of which has sold just 1 copy! The several volumes of poetry have racked up a total of 217 sales or more as I had a couple out before I started tracking sales. The most popular to date is The Art of Science. But do try my poetry… I am rather proud of it.

Here are some other statistics..

Top Sellers

Your Haunted Lives
My Haunted Life
My Haunted Life Too
The Black Eyed Kids
Chilling Tales of Black Eyed Kids

Interesting to note they are all paranormal books.

Top Sellers Q1 2020

Chilling Tales of Black eyed Kids
The Scary Best of My Haunted Life Too.com
The Black eyed Kids
The Czech Republic – The Most Haunted Country in the World
True Tales of Haunted Places

Thanks for supporting my writing habit…..

The book I was most disappointed with in terms of sales? Lord of the elements with just 30 sales to show for hours and hours and hours of work…..

See all of my books here.

Spammers’ Karma

Last week, in my business email account, I started getting a lot of messages coming back saying – undeliverable. Puzzled, I asked our internet guy to take a look. He soon figured out that someone was sending emails and making it look as if they came from my account. Yes – they can do that. They aren’t coming from your account but it looks to the receiver as if they are. What can I do? I asked. Nothing really, was the response. Great!

However, I was wanting to know who was being emailed by Notme. Our web guy took some time but soon came back with the scary fact that somehow, the emails being spammed by Notme were the people who had sent us a message at our general email address for inquiries. Now that was worrying so we readied an email to send out telling them not to open these emails. Then better news, the email list had been stolen from an old, archived server and so all of these email addresses were at least 5 years old. That made sense as my inbox was filled with lots of returned and undelivered messages – these were old emails.

Then for the final news. After a bit more investigation, it seemed that the email list on the archived and old server was actually the list of spam emails we had received from spammers.

It didn’t take long for us to realize that in this case, the spammers had spammed the spammers!

Karma huh. It’s a bitch.

Chasing the Shaman – A New Book

Sometimes, things just come together. In the last week, I had an idea for a book. I wanted to write about magic like Sue Vincent and Stuart France or perhaps Alan Richardson does but in my own style. As some of you may know, I have been on the trail of a shaman here in Brno and it struck me that his activity – in my reality – was a piece of a chain of events that were truly magical and worth writing about. I assembled the book from various blog posts, correspondences with Sue Vincent, poems and of course a lot of new content and what emerged surprised even me.

Back in late 2005, I got Inner Journeys: Explorations of the Soul published and it told the story of how my love/fear of the occult had eventually resulted in doing the SOL correspondence course. It detailed how I found an inner contact I call Asteroth and what I learned from her including the rudimentary beginnings of what became The Mystical Hexagram – written with Sue Vincent. But then, in 2006, I met a girl in the Czech Republic and for the love of that girl, I left everything behind and relocated – yes, even Asteroth to some degree. By 2011, that relationship was over and it had left me at a bit of a loss. I woke up to find myself in a country I did not understand surrounded by people who did not understand me and if it was not for my beautiful daughter, I would have left. I was I suppose in the pits of despair.

And then Magic found me again.

Sue finally got me to go visit with her and Stuart a couple of years ago and they showed me how they had worked with the land. We basically spent a weekend revisiting their book – The Initiate. It re-awakened something in me and I rediscovered the magic I had lost – slowly and imperfectly perhaps at first. Add to that a couple of weekends with the Silent Eye over the last couple of years in England with Sue, Stuart and Steve (the three behind The Silent Eye) and a suggestion from Sue in particular to connect with the land and I was off again.

I soon discovered Dragons, Knights Templar, Earth energies and the Slavic Gods. I became connected to the Goddess, in the Slavic Pantheon, I would call Her Živa – the waters of life. Pretty soon, I was building this connection with Goddess and the land through many different techniques and perhaps by chasing a Slavic shaman I happened across one night…..

So, in many ways, the book is the follow up to Inner Journeys as I rediscover Asteroth and much more. I also dare to hope it is the first part of a magical story of my love affair with nature and the Czech or Slavic version of it – and a reconnection with the Goddess….. who truly is at the heart of all magic.

It is out now in paperback and kindle formats – the paperback has photos as well…..

Find out more here.

Burning Witches

Tonight in the Czech Republic is know as Burning Witches. Pretty brutal name right? So, it’s 30th April and the day before Beltane and right there is a clue perhaps to the origin of Burning Witches. What people do is make an effigy of a woman suing two sticks and whatever else they can find and then they burn the effigy on the bonfire while celebrating with beer, wine and food.

Of course, it is a pagan tradition in which the old woman of winter gives way to the maiden of springtime, rebirth and fecundity. What I find interesting is that it is similar to the broader slavic tradition of burning and effigy of Marzanna – the Goddess of winter – usually around the Spring Equinox. In the latter case, the effigy is burned and/or drowned or both.

Either way, the tradition marks the change of seasons.

Common Sense Anyone?

I read today a beautiful poem about Baba Yaga at a website written by a slavic woman living in the USA. Her website had a sub heading – Fighting the Patriarchy at every opportunity….. A quick glance around the site and it was obvious to me at any rate that contrary to fighting the Patriarchy, she was perpetuating it. Her website would have made Joseph Stalin proud and that isn’t Matriarchy – its left wing ideology – a belief system that if approached with a critical and logical viewpoint would immediately identify itself as rabidly patriarchical. None the less – the poem was very good.

I watch the world with my peculiar viewpoint. I have remarked on many occasions recently that the way my mind works it puts me at odds with the prevailing sentiments pushed by whoever are the powers that be on our planet. I cannot subscribe to any politician or political system – I reject them all. They are all ideologies – mindless mantras designed to hijack our creative mind and bent on having humanity create a bleak reality. Yes – that is my viewpoint and I see evidence of it everywhere. You see, if these mindless mantras can be recited and believed by enough minds, it creates an energized egregore – a thought form – this can take on a life of its own and become a demigod of human creation. It can also be used to control us. Don’t believe in such things? Well, what is a brand? What is a belief system? Think about it.

The tragedy of our times is that humanity is by rights an amazing thing. Capable of great compassion and love. Capable of creative thought, problem solving and common sense. Its history has been one of a struggle to survive against both cataclysms of its own making like war, totalitarianism, and greed as well as a fight to survive Mother Nature’s storms, plagues, earth changes, floods, and droughts. Only in the last couple of generations has the use of fossil fuels created an environment of relative livable conditions for many – warmth, food, clothing and an escape from poverty. And against this luxury, now that we no longer have to fight and scrap to survive, we have the luxury of time to think and ponder and to find value in our lives. Yet this has not happened. Instead, many of us voluntarily subscribe to dogma driven by the media, politicians and social media where we can create echo chambers for those mantras. These mantras and ideologies are many but two of them predominate – the politically correct left who believe that belief is everything and that facts are merely small things that get in the way of belief. It is obsessed with things like gender, climate and so on. The other is on the right where idols like God, Nation, Flag and other ways to subvert individuals under a false narrative rule. These people place importance on ideals that imprison, divide and corrupt. Neither can see beyond their ideology, which blinkers every thought they have driven on by the whips of the media screeching fear to drive us to the precipice of doom.

I’m all for a break down of the Patriarchy. But not for a female version of it. Or a left wing system of suppression of individual rights created by men. I’d like to see a return to the values of common sense and maybe it is me that is deluded but in the Grandmother of the Matriarchy that was, there a plenty of common sense unpolluted by mantras – left or right. I’d like to see people wake up to their true potential and reject the tightening bonds of ideology before it is too late. Reject the duality of left and right and start to think again, solving problems with clarity of mind and without some mindless allegiance to mantras.

This is the age of Aquarius and I am Aquarian. I have always been different and though I have struggled with that at times, I thrive on it now. I reject the duality of dogmas and controls. Have a think…. and hopefully do the same.

Beware Stories of Our Demise …..

Since its Earth day, lets look back at expert predictions from the 1970s… and then reflect on why we still believe these so called experts in Government and media… I’m guessing that No.10 is the only one you could claim happened and doesn’t No7 sound like the climate change alarmists of today pushing their unproven pseudoscientific hypothesis? Just look at No. 11 and consider there is so much oil in 2020 it is priced negatively….

We never learn that humanity is an opportunistic species well adapted to change with the ingenuity to solve almost all problems…..

Thats the truth people. Wake up!

1. “Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.” — Harvard biologist George Wald

2. “We are in an environmental crisis which threatens the survival of this nation, and of the world as a suitable place of human habitation.” — Washington University biologist Barry Commoner

3. “Man must stop pollution and conserve his resources, not merely to enhance existence but to save the race from intolerable deterioration and possible extinction.” — New York Times editorial

4. “Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make. The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.” — Stanford University biologist Paul Ehrlich

5. “Most of the people who are going to die in the greatest cataclysm in the history of man have already been born… [By 1975] some experts feel that food shortages will have escalated the present level of world hunger and starvation into famines of unbelievable proportions. Other experts, more optimistic, think the ultimate food-population collision will not occur until the decade of the 1980s.” — Paul Ehrlich

6. “It is already too late to avoid mass starvation,” — Denis Hayes, Chief organizer for Earth Day

7. “Demographers agree almost unanimously on the following grim timetable: by 1975 widespread famines will begin in India; these will spread by 1990 to include all of India, Pakistan, China and the Near East, Africa. By the year 2000, or conceivably sooner, South and Central America will exist under famine conditions…. By the year 2000, thirty years from now, the entire world, with the exception of Western Europe, North America, and Australia, will be in famine.” — North Texas State University professor Peter Gunter

8. “In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution… by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half.” — Life magazine

9. “At the present rate of nitrogen buildup, it’s only a matter of time before light will be filtered out of the atmosphere and none of our land will be usable.” — Ecologist Kenneth Watt

10. “Air pollution…is certainly going to take hundreds of thousands of lives in the next few years alone.” — Paul Ehrlich

11. “By the year 2000, if present trends continue, we will be using up crude oil at such a rate… that there won’t be any more crude oil. You’ll drive up to the pump and say, ‘Fill ‘er up, buddy,’ and he’ll say, ‘I am very sorry, there isn’t any.’” — Ecologist Kenneth Watt

12. “[One] theory assumes that the earth’s cloud cover will continue to thicken as more dust, fumes, and water vapor are belched into the atmosphere by industrial smokestacks and jet planes. Screened from the sun’s heat, the planet will cool, the water vapor will fall and freeze, and a new Ice Age will be born.” — Newsweek magazine

13. “The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.” — Kenneth Watt

Words

All it takes is the right piece of music

And the words, they come rushing out

Spilling roughly onto paper

In my head delivered as a shout

The beat gives me rhythm

The bass is the pounding pulse

Somehow the words emerge

From some deep subconscious impulse

To speak

To communicate

To tell the world

What I feel

To give you sight

Of my emotion

The urge to create

My words replicate

All it takes is a moment of derision

And floods of letters emerge

Presorted concepts, nouns and verbs

Their meaning once submerged

Deep within my being

Deep within my vibrant soul

Ideas forming and silently screaming

To resonate in birth, almost whole

To speak

To communicate

To tell the world

What I feel

To give you sight

Of my emotion

The urge to create

My words replicate

For in the beginning was the word

And these are words of power forming

Ideas in your head from mine

Images arising of a new creation dawning

Words seem so banale and limp

Yet their power flows and grows

Words are acts of divine creation

They are kernals of whatever grows

To speak

To communicate

To tell the world

What I feel

To give you sight

Of my emotion

The urge to create

My words replicate
