Dreams for the Dreaming

I’ve searched my entire life

In the darkest of corners

I never found that thing I sought

In the end it was a fleeting thought

And I forget what it was I was looking for

And so I am left wondering

If I don’t know the question

How can I find the answer?

It’s in my dreams

And my imagination

So it seems

An endless world

A universe

I seek it while it seeks me

Together we are one

And I would be eternally free

But I am alone chasing my tail

An errand in which I always fail

What am I looking for?

What could it be?

And night after night

I dream these dreams

In which, all is never what it seems

There are no ways out

Though I may scream and shout

I am trapped within my question

Trapped within this endless world

Built in dreamful imagination

It’s a puzzle, a conundrum

To have an answer

There must be a question

All I have is the quest

For I know not what

Did We Not Learn?

I feel we may be on the verge of night

As the darkness is slowly setting in

Lying like a heavy, claustrophobic, blanket

And that darkness conceals the sin

Of the many who through despair,

Or perhaps stupidity, have been drawn in

It’s a bloody twilight, threatening us all

It’s like a sickness or a plague

Anger, resentment and hatred

Perhaps, its simply frustration

A lack of understanding and an ability to cope

People losing their way, expressing lost hope

Besieged daily with untruths

Corrupt leaders striking popular poses

They stink, but still smell like roses

To their frightened adoring masses

As they ratchet up the untruths

Fingers on the hatred button

Empty promises from a power glutton

And as darkness slowly falls

We despair for what had been

The promise of yesterday extinguished

Amid this growing stupid hatred

Stirred by the guardians of darkness

Color, religion, gender, politics

Whose team are you on?

I tell you this

It’s time to chose

Or, lose the sight of any new dawn

As night closes in, we forget

How the Sun may look

We forget so easily

How this happened once before

And that time there was world war

Before the dawn broke again

There was incredible pain

Before the Sun meekly shone again

And understanding shot sprouts

Under the morning Sun

Never again, they said

Yet, here we go again……

Addicted

For the last several weeks, I have been having very vivid – even lucid dreams. I’m not quite sure why, but perhaps its related to a course that I am doing with The Silent Eye school. Anyway, recently, I awoke with a song in my head. I had dreamt the song and I was addicted to it. I found myself singing it in the shower and during the day. I had to get this song out! It took me many hours of work and experimentation, but I got very close to the song in my dream and called it “Addicted”. It is really quite a different type of song for me being synth-based and has more of a techno beat (and I HATE techno trust me). I admit, it’s not perfect but…. well, it is addictive.

A Word About Climate

If you read CNN or the BBC or even read the hilarious IPCC report recently, you would be forgiven for thinking that the end is nigh. Me, I’m totally sick of this ‘fake news’ trotted out periodically. These days, if something is wrong, climate change is to blame. Every hurricane or storm is because of climate change. Disease is spreading because of it and on and on. Of course, we all know that the science is proven……

Well, the politics is proven and those pushing the agenda of climate change have made up their minds – like the IPCC – which is rapidly becoming a bit of a joke really…. and I will explain why in a few lines. The problem is that science is never settled – by definition, science if the creation of a hypothesis to fit the known facts. Peers are invited to throw stones and break that hypothesis in order to improve upon it. The creator of the hypothesis has to use it to make predictions from it and if those predictions don’t come about, then one must assume the model is flawed. Periodically, a model that has been accepted for decades is completely overturned by a smart scientist and it all starts over again. So, sorry, if you tell me the science is proven you are telling me you do not have a clue about the nature of science. It simply means your politics are proven.

So, lets visit the predictions that the IPCC and others have been making based on the model that human CO2 is to blame shall we? Polar ice caps – still there and NOT melting, Temperatures – not increasing in leaps and bounds. In fact they have been steady for almost two decades now. Polar bears? still going strong. In fact, the predictions made by their model have been not just wrong but off the charts WRONG. Ridiculous even. It’s time for a new model.

If you follow the science as I do, you would know that the model is being revised. I am aware of over 50 papers published this last 6 months by SCIENTISTS qualified to comment who basically say that CO2 is massively overplayed as a factor in climate. The evidence is pointing instead to cloud cover and solar activity. In fact, rather than warming, we may be facing cooling as solar activity has been at a minimum for several years already. Research into numbers and types of weather events show that actually, storms are fewer and less strong than they were in the past…. need I go on?

Finally, let’s look at atmospheric CO2 shall we from a geological point of view. 400ppm is a low amount. It is in fact the second lowest it has EVER been in recorded geologic history. It is more normal to be 1000ppm – and, by the way, temperatures were no warmer.

CO2 is not a pollutant. It is plant food. It is the basis for life on this planet. It is the basis of photosynthesis.

Climate change is not a modern phenomena. The climate changes constantly as do sea levels throughout the Earth’s past. Why? Because we live on a dynamic living planet. And, please, go look at whether ice caps are a normal feature of the planet – they are NOT. They occur only in ice ages – and we are in one. Right now.

Photo Shoots

Just recently, the celebrated Czech-American photographer – Walter Novak – shot some photographs for me to help me promote a better image around my music. Walter is an award winning photographer who has worked with the stars and so, honestly, it was an honor to work with him. The results I think are startling. His concept was to take the photos at dusk with a long shutter speed capturing a moving Brno tram in the background along with graffiti and so on. It gives a central-eastern European feel while also making me look quite the rocker! I am very pleased with the results.

Last night, we completed the second part of the assignment – to take some closer stills of me for my book promotion work. He chose another location on the edge of Brno and I am looking forward to the results. To see Walter work is incredible. His entire personality shifts into high gear as he works to get the shot he saw in his head. He makes you work too! Shifting poses and so on. But, it was fun.

Having moved back to Brno from the US recently, Walter is now ready to get back to work. So, if you are looking for a serious photographer to work with for your publicity shots or whatever, I can recommend him. Recent Songs and Books – An Update

I have just put out my version of Supergirl – so far, it does appear to be doing quite well and I’m pleased.

But I also put out a couple of others recently that I also rather like… It’s My Life and This is your Song

On the book front, I have not been so productive recently but the audio version of Chilling Tales did just come out and is selling very well. In fact, it is #90 in the Amazon.com supernatural category for audio books which is a rather nice debut.
