Sneak Peek

I'm going as fast as I can because I'm juggling a few different things at the moment, but here's a sneak peek of the next part of Mercy's story. Let me know if you like it:

My memory is a cracked and treacherous thing, but I remember—

The silence of thousands as the sun went dark above the Andaman Sea and an aurora flamed across the hot, noon day sky in vivid bands of red and green. The ground had begun to shake beneath our feet—as fluid as the skin of some vast, waking animal. And people fell to the earth as if it were ending. Then the screaming began.

And, as Ryan and I crossed the equator, chasing the heat, chasing life, I remember—

The evening sky suddenly peppered with light: hard, bright flashes filling the horizon from end to end. One after another, pop, pop, pop, high overhead as if the stars themselves were exploding. Cars, buses, people—everything stopping to see, to wonder at the signs.

Working on some new Mercy

For the patient people who have been asking, yes, I'm working on the next instalment in Mercy's story and I'm hoping to have something to my publisher in a couple of months.

If you're missing Mercy's world you might want to check out Azraeil's cameo in "The Astrologer's Daughter" and the first "reveal" of his kingdom, Sheol, in "Afterlight". Everything in my slightly freaky universe is connected...

Global Giveaway #1

** COMP CLOSED - congrats to Stephanie! A signed copy of Mercy is headed your way x **

People who have read and enjoyed my YA books will know that I love a flawed heroine who will meet the worst, head-on, with tenacity.

To celebrate the publication of "Afterlight" on June 24, 2015, this global giveaway (the first of two) is for true fans of the Mercy series: readers who have been willing to be challenged and engaged by Mercy's evolution across all four books.

The prize for the first correct answer to the following question? A signed and personalised copy of your favourite of the four Mercy titles, posted with love and gratitude, all the way from Oz.

Here's the question: only ONE of the Archangels has the power to transmogrify the celestial state of another Archangel. No other Archangel has this power and no other Archangel could have brought about the bargain made for Ryan. Which Archangel is it?

You've got a week! PM me if you think you know, and nominate your favourite title so that I can get it to you, if you win.

If you're not a fan but you know someone who is, let them know. And let them know there will be more to Mercy's story x

The Astrologer's Daughter

Just sharing the beyond-beautiful cover of my latest YA novel, "The Astrologer's Daughter" because I'm a huge fan of the photographer, Jessica Lia, who is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Look up her gallery, you will not be disappointed. She has an amazing eye.

If you loved "Mercy" and the crazy genre mash-up of YA mystery / thriller with touches of paranormal and romance in that, grab "The Astrologer's Daughter" which is available in (e)book and Kindle now everywhere, and is coming out in the US in July 2015.
