Reviews
As a writer, I understand that reviews are important for a book and the author. Of course, I know that pleasing everyone is impossible. Everyone's tastes are different, and as a writer, you can't pretend to believe that everyone will understand why you wrote something the way you wrote it.
As a reader, I look at reviews, though I don't really let it influence me one way or another, because of the reason above. Everyone's tastes are different. But, I do enjoy seeing what other people think, as long as the criticisms are constructive and not mean spirited.
As both an author and a reader, my biggest pet peeve about reviews of a fictional book is when people say things like:
'It's unbelievable.' 'That would never happen in real life.'
It's called fiction for a reason. These are stories from imaginations of different people. They are fictional characters, in fictional places, in fictional situations. Truths are stretched to fit the story that is in the author's mind. Heck, I write about vampires. Of course, that's not real life. I understand that some people want as much "realism" as they can get when reading certain kinds of fiction (i.e. romance). But, even though I can't see myself falling head over heels for some arrogant, abrasive, insensitive ass, I can still read a book with objectiveness. :) It's about going outside of your 'reality' and letting your imagination take over. That's what books are for. If you want realism, live your life. If you want a bit of sensationalism and indulgence, read a book. Take life seriously. But, when you read, let that go and just...enjoy.

A snippet from the new Destined book!
Chapter One
"Rantings of an angry vampire"
I wonder if I will myself to change, and attack Jenna for her incessant popping of her gum, if it could be ruled as an animal attack. I could totally make it look like an animal attack. I would be quick, she wouldn't feel a thing.
Rantings of an angry vampire. Maybe that's what I should name my blog. Or memoir. Okay, so I'm cranky. Sue me. I have been sitting here for days waiting for Zac to wake up. All of my Hunters are here, except Sam who is working. They don't need to be here, they just insist on it. Much to my dismay. Talking, tapping, singing, popping. Ugh!
"I need blood."
Amanda's eyes snapped up from one of my father's journals she was reading. Her reaction to my thought surprised me, and told me it wasn't a silent thought at all.
"Sorry," I mumbled, lowering my gaze from hers.
"Don't be, Ana. If you need . . . "
"I'm just irritable." I looked pointedly at Jenna who popped her gum at me. "If you keep popping your gum, I will go all Chicago on you."
Jenna's face scrunched in confusion. "Huh?"
I couldn't help but to roll my eyes. I know, childish, but come on! She's so annoying! "Stop popping your gum. And, get some culture."

Questions to an author...
I often get asked if my books are written from personal experiences. I don't know why people are so interested in that, but I may as well just answer the question here for everyone.
The answer is...yes. I am a vampire.

Flawed Perfection - Author's note
Hey everyone! By now, most of you know that Flawed Perfection is now out. I'm having a giveaway here on Goodreads, so be sure to sign up!
My notes on Flawed Perfection: Please remember that Flawed is the sequel to Something About Eve. In order to understand Eve Sumptor and others to the fullest, you need to read Something About Eve first. Flawed is not a stand alone book if you're looking to know Eve's back story and the depth of her relationships with the people in her life.

Cover - Flawed Perfection
I have come up with the cover for Flawed Perfection! Finally! Now, I just have to put it all together, get FP formatted, and then...release it! Yippie! I'll do a cover reveal soon...
Covers are always difficult for me. It needs to define the inside of the book, as well as be appealing to everyone. This one spoke to me after an extensive search. I'm happy with it. I hope you all will enjoy it, too.
