Six Sentence Sunday – 25/9/11
I'm going for something a little different this week. Here's a snippet from my story Farm Hand, which appears in the anthology The Look of Lust from Xcite Books. More info here.
Also, to comment on this post, it's the link at the top ^^ – not the bottom. Thanks guys!
As Ramona made her way down the gravel track, she spotted some farm buildings. Glancing down at her map, she nodded. Her route would take her right through the farm yard and then the public footpath continued over a stile into the adjacent field.
She just hoped she didn't meet any hostile dogs: or geese. She shuddered. Geese could be vicious creatures.

The Love of the Irish
Yes, I did mean the "love" not the "luck"! Know why? Because I am very excited about my buddy JoAnne Kenrick's upcoming release, Sweet Irish Kiss. She's been teasing about it for ages, and if you watch this video, you'll see why I'm excited:
Cool, huh? This is gonna be a hot read, to be sure! (heh. See what I did there?

Seducing the Myth Paperback is Rolling Out!
Look what finally arrived at my house this morning! My lovely proof copy of Seducing the Myth! Yes, it's in paperback, yay
All I had to do was check it over and approve it – which I have now done. It's available right now from Createspace direct, and will be rolling out to Amazon.com in a week or so, followed other retailers and distributors, including Amazon.co.uk. The postage costs (not to mention the time it took to arrive) are pretty prohibitive from Createspace if you live outside the US, so I'd say hang fire for a while if you're not in the US and you'd like a copy.
However, US peeps feel free to purchase to your heart's content. Get your print copy of Seducing the Myth here: https://www.createspace.com/3666016
If you'd prefer a digital copy, here's a list of retailers.

I just had the nicest email in my inbox – my paranormal erotic romance tale Bite with Height was reviewed by Whipped Cream and they awarded it 4 cherries (out of 5)!
Here's what they had to say:
"I really enjoyed this short, sexy story with lots of girl-talk, coffee with a vampire twist in the shadow of Sacré-Coeur. I'd gladly recommend it to others who enjoy paranormal and F/F Romance. If you're in the mood for an uncomplicated, quick satisfying read with F/F romance, don't miss Bite With Height."

Guest Blog: Sara Brookes
First, I'd like to thank the super-talented Lucy Felthouse for having me here today to celebrate my newest release, Perfect Limit. For those that don't know me, I'm Sara Brookes and I write an array of genres, but lately I've been focusing on erotica & erotic romance.
For erotic romance, HEA/HFN (Happily Ever After/Happy For Now) is pretty much a requirement, but get into the world of erotica and things skew a little. That HEA/HFN isn't a requirement. But, I'm a softie, what can I say? I almost always end the story on a happy ending. Of course, what defines one person's happy ending isn't another's. And variety is good.
Really good. *g*
In my BDSM stories, that HEA is a little different. Most of the time, romance stories end with wedding bells—mine don't. That isn't to say wedding bells should be ruled out. They may eventually ring for the lovers, but the majority of them end around a collaring ceremony. Like weddings, collaring scenes vary and I always make them specific to the couple. And, to be honest, they don't always involve what most people perceive as a collar. Collars can be anything that is something of significance to the people involved. Some like the visual a collar provides, some don't and prefer to be more discreet about their choices.
My newest release, Perfect Limit, involves a collaring scene done in front of a huge crowd of people. Considering Burke, the Dom in the story, is quite the showman, it's highly appropriate. He does like the look a collar and wants everyone to know that his submissive is his, but you'll have to read the story for more on that.
But, think about this and take a moment. Do you own a piece of jewelry—maybe a watch or a necklace—that your significant other gave you? Does it hold meaning and value to you because that person gave it to you? If the answer is yes, you have more in common with BDSM than you thought.

Sara Brookes is an award-winning, multi-published author who has always been fascinated by the strange, the unusual, the twisted and the lost (tortured heroes are her personal favorite). She is an action movie junkie, addicted to coffee and has been known to stay up until the wee hours of the morning playing RPG video games. Despite all this, she is a romantic at heart and is always a sucker for an excellent love story.

A MESSAGE FROM SARA: In honor of Perfect Limit's release, I'll giveaway a download of the book to one lucky commenter. Contest is open to all and I'll draw a winner on Sept 29th. Good luck!

A Super Review for I Kissed A Girl II!
Awesome news in my inbox this morning – I Kissed A Girl II: More Virgin Lesbian Stories edited by Regina Perry and published by Ravenous Romance got a fab review!
Blackraven's Reviews read and reviewed it, and here's what they had to say:
"I Kissed a Girl: Volume II actually started with a bang and ended with an explosion. While there are less than perfect moments throughout the entire collection, there is remarkable story-telling tucked away in these pages. Overall, I Kissed a Girl: Volume II is an anthology to read, and rejoice over the commemoration to F/F relationships it portrays." 4.5 out of 5

Totty Tuesday – Benedict Cumberbatch
Here's someone a little different for you for this week's Totty Tuesday! Now, I don't have a full on lusty crush on Mr. Cumberbatch (i.e. you probably won't see him appearing in any of my stories any time soon, but never say never!) but I can certainly appreciate his finer qualities.
Thrust firmly into the public eye by his appearance in the BBC's Sherlock (which is bloody good and I'm looking forward to the next series), Benedict Cumberbatch is definitely a rising star. He's been in other stuff of course (some of which I've seen, too, but I didn't realise until I just checked his IMDB page), but Sherlock definitely put him on the map.
He's since followed this up with a role in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, which I saw over the weekend. He has a fairly major role in the film and although his (and everyone else's) acting was superb, I thought the film was a real let down. It was incredibly slow paced and I sat there for much of it wondering if it was nearly finished – which I don't do very often. I'm not the only one either, I've never heard so much yawning and fidgeting in a cinema! Anyway, Benedict was pretty cute in this too – though his hair's better in Sherlock which is why I used this piccie. Enjoy!

Myth Mondays: Behind the Scenes with God of Pleasure by J. C. Martin
Please welcome J. C. Martin to Myth Mondays for her post on God of Pleasure, which is featured in Seducing the Myth. Take it away, J. C….
*****
Everybody knows Eros (better known as Cupid) is the Greek god of love. Some of you may know of Dionysus (Roman name Bacchus), the god of wine and merrymaking. But not many people know that old Dionysus is also the god of ecstasy. In ancient times, parties in his honour are commonly called bacchanalia, a mass orgy of dancing, sex and drunkenness.
Whilst he is often portrayed in modern illustrations as a middle-aged drunkard with an expanding beer gut, ancient carvings depict him with the usual godly physique and otherworldly good looks. When writing God of Pleasure, I imagined Dionysus to be much like one of those A-list celebrities of today: young, handsome, worshipped by gaggles of women, with a leaning towards booze and kinky sex.
Now, there are a wealth of tales about the sexploits of Eros, and the king of the Olympians himself, Zeus. But Dionysus has his own share of saucy stories, one of which I chose as the setting for God of Pleasure.
When Theseus travelled to Crete to defeat King Minos' beast, the Minotaur, he was aided in his quest by Minos' daughter, Ariadne, who fell in love with Theseus. When he agreed to take her back to Athens with him in return for her help, Ariadne gave him a sword and a ball of fleece, which he used to find his way back out of the Labyrinth.
After Theseus killed the Minotaur, he took Ariadne with him on his ship. However, Theseus reneged on his promise. When they made a brief stop on the small island of Naxos, he snuck off whilst Ariadne napped, sailing off without her and leaving her stranded on the island alone. Luckily for Ariadne, she caught the eye of Dionysus, who promptly rescues her.
And that is where I chose to begin my story.
