Eastern Cowboy – the Story Behind the Story
My mother and father live outside Baltimore Maryland in a condominium complex. If you read Eastern Cowboy, then you already know something about it because its their light blue condos that surround one portion of the farm in the story. All around their area are houses, condos, strip centers and a single farm. This farm is really old and looks rather forlorn sitting off by itself in the largely urbanized landscape. The are is called Shipley’s Grant. I must confess that I know very little about the property, but every time I drove by it, I couldn’t help thinking there was … Continued

Eating Sushi
Okay, yesterday I went to dinner with a large group of friends at the sushi restaurant at the Gaylord Resort in Orlando. I have to tell you that I am not a fish person in any way and this menu was very limited. So last night I actually had my first taste of sushi. I have to say that it was okay. I doubt I’m ever going to become a lover of sushi, but I have to say that it was pretty good. I only had shrimp based sushi, but it was quite good. Dominic has always said that I’m a … Continued

Marty on Being the Cover Model for Backward
Marty is the cover model for Backward and I asked him to write a few thoughts on being a cover model. He is a great guy and takes one heck of a photograph!!!! Last summer I was contacted by my good friend Jesse Jackman. He mentioned that he had recommended me for a book cover and that he and Dirk had done ones as well. He showed me theirs and I was floored! Such great imagery and the photographer really captured them well. Being a fan of both of them as well as close friends I was touched by their … Continued

Backward – The Cover
Marty Pfeifer is the model who posed for the cover of Backward. Once I had finished the manuscript, I asked Jesse and Dirk if they knew of someone who would be interested in posing for the cover of Backward. I asked for a larger man who was older. I didn’t want a young kid. They told me about Marty and sent me a few pictures. As you can see by the finished work, he’s a handsome man and was perfect to portray Harry on the cover of Backward. Joey Flyfoto agreed to shoot the images as he did for Jesse … Continued

A Brand New Release – Backward
Today is the release day for Backward, so I thought I would put publish an excerpt for you. I love this story and it has some really funny moments. I thought I’d share one with you. Sequel to Upside Down Bronco’s Boys: Book Three Club owner Harry Klinger has had his eye on Tristan Martin for months, but never had the nerve to approach him. He’s watched as Tristan dated Eddie and then reluctantly sat on the sidelines during the emotional breakup when Tristan discovered Eddie was dealing drugs. Now that Tristan seems to be healing, Harry hopes to … Continued

Be Prepared to Go Backward
Sometimes book covers have a story and this one certainly does. Backward is the third story in the Broncos Boys series and releases February 13. Jesse Jackman and Dirk Caber were the models in the first two covers. The third story, Backward has a friend of theirs, Marty, as the model. He is not an actor or model, but he did an awesome job. With the title, we wanted to get both the back of the model as well as his face on the so they used a mirror to get the image. Of course we didn’t start out with that concept. … Continued

Fire and Water – My Thoughts on Release Day!!!
Today is the release day for Fire and Water. Dominic came in this morning to say goodbye before he left for work and I could barely sit still on the sofa I’m so excited. This is a story that really touched my heart. I was the oldest growing up with a younger brother and sister. I heard over and over how I was the smart one and they were the ones with the looks. It hurt. Of course my peers reinforced that view. Anyway, I don’t want this post to be a downer and the point is that in Fire … Continued

Christmas with Andrew
I write blog posts all the time and sometimes I forget to write on my own blog. So I decided to write a post about Christmas with Andrew. Dominic is amazing and he cooks all kinds of Christmas goodies including cookies and fruitcake. He also does all the food for our huge holiday open house. He is an amazing man and I’m lucky to have him in my life. My contribution to the festivities are the decorations. I put up three trees, decorate the mantle, and the house. I love lights and if Dominic would let me I swear I’d … Continued

Winter Guest Post
Yesterday I did a winter blog post with The Blogger Girls. They were gracious enough to host me on their blog. “I used to remember at eight years old, laying in my bed listening to the wind. I’d get out and pad across the cool floor in my bare feet and flannel pajamas with cowboys on them so I could look out my bedroom window and watch the snow as it came down. More than once my mom scolded me to get back into bed. The power was out and we didn’t have any heat, so if I didn’t get … Continued
