Ready for digital pre-order! HIGH RISK
Yeah!!! So I now have a lovely cover, cover copy, and you can pre-order HIGH RISK in mass market paperback OR digital now!
So… what can I tell you about the story? If you like my contemporary cowboys–Six Pack Ranch– you’ll find a similar voice here. Instead of the Coleman clan there is the Lifeline Search and Rescue team–a band of friends who work together and thrive on high adventure situations. As well as the heroine/hero there are four-five other characters you’ll get to know in the book, including…damn, I want to tell you plot stuff, but I need to wait on that.
Marcus is probably the sexiest hero I’ve ever written, and one of the most tortured. (Yeah, tortured heroes!) Becki is one of those people who you’d love as a friend, because you KNOW she’ll stand up for you through anything, plus she’ll kick your butt when it needs it. I think Becki and Jaxi would be good friends, other than Jaxi doesn’t want to leave the ranch, and Becki left the family farm in Saskatchewan to work in the mountains of Yellowstone and Banff.
High Risk is the longest novel I’ve written to date. Not sure how it happened, but it’s the equivalent of 3 wolfie books, or both Xtreme Adventure books!
WHEEEEEEEE!!!
As soon as I’m done edits I’ll be able to start sneaking you more information about the story and the hero/heroine. I hope you’ll become as excited as I am to meet the team and watch Becki and Marcus find their HEA.

High Risk
Adrenaline, Book 1
LIFELINE: an elite search-and-rescue squad based out of Banff, Alberta. Specializing in high-risk rescue missions, this team goes wherever the job takes them…
Rebecca James was once revered for her devil-may-care attitude and backcountry survival skills. But ever since she lost her partner in a fatal accident, patches of her memory have been missing. And until she can recall those final, tragic moments before the accident, she can’t move on.
Since Marcus Landers was permanently injured during a mission, all his energies have been focused on his Lifeline team. When Becki—whom he had an intense affair with seven years ago—arrives in Banff, he’s inspired to reignite the spark they once had. Their mutual ardor slowly awakens Becki’s dormant, haunting memories.
New truths surface until Becki must at last confront her greatest fear. Remembering the past might mean a future without the man she loves…

Rocky Mountain Angel
Six Pack Ranch, Book 4
Sometimes even Angels must learn to fly…
Allison Parker needs a convincing excuse to come home to Rocky Mountain House. A hopelessly romantic reason that won’t let her mother suspect the truth—that Allison has discovered Mom is keeping a terrible secret from the family.
Gabe Coleman is struggling with two of the roughest parts of ranching: dealing with his bull-headed mule of a father, and making enough to pay the bills. When his old friend Allison offers to help him develop his ideas for organic ranching—in trade for pretending to be her fiancé—it sounds like the perfect set-up.
Yet the deception leads them in an unexpected direction, where their shared daily hells are erased by nights of heavenly distraction. It’s not supposed to be real, but once the gates are opened, there’s no denying they’ve found in each other a little bit of Paradise.
To break free of the past and face the future, though, will take more than temporary pleasures. It’ll take putting their hearts on the line.
Warning: Tortured hero with a guardian-angel complex, grief-stricken heroine willing to sacrifice everything for family. Break out the tissues, this trip to the ranch is a heartbreaker on the way to the HEA.
She’d meant it as a taunt. A bit of a payback for the mind-numbing impact of his kiss a couple days earlier.
But when their lips touched, joking was off the agenda. Now? She just wanted.
This habit she had of jumping in with two feet had gotten her in trouble before, and maybe this time it would as well, but with her fingers tangled in his hair she didn’t care.
She traced his lips with her tongue, tasting him slowly. He wasn’t moving. Not toward her, not away, so she leaned in a little harder and dipped a little deeper. Mmm, something about kissing him in the outdoors made it that much better. It was right, mixing the scents of the country with the taste of him, his firm lips moving against hers.
He must have finally given in, because his hands were on her hips. Not dragging her tighter, but at least not pushing her away. The gentle squeeze of pressure proved he was there willingly, and she concentrated on enjoying the kiss more.
She was up on tiptoe, breathing through her nose. The masculine scent of his soap and skin filled her head. His tongue brushed hers. A far cry from the passionate and overwhelming exchange they’d had at the start of the week. Somehow, it was just as perfect. Allison tugged him closer yet and he followed her lead. Bending over her, and allowing her to rest on her heels instead of straining to reach him.
His hands hadn’t moved.
The kisses stayed soft. Exploratory. When she would have offered more, an extraordinary sound escaped him, and this time he did pull back. Not far, only enough to rest his head on her shoulder and take a shaky breath.
She ran her fingers through his hair, the thick texture soft and yet firm against her palms.
It was reassuring and peaceful. The edge of sexual attraction there but dim enough all she felt was his presence. A comfort and an anchor.

Falling in love with my words
I’m getting together excerpts for Elle Kennedy’s and my upcoming blog tour, and a wonderful thing is happening. I’m falling in love with Rocky Mountain Angel all over again.
Maybe that sounds egotistical, but I’m okay with that. I figure if I don’t love what I write, neither will readers. I go back and re-read my own stories and I enjoy them. I even laugh in the right places.
Maybe it sounds odd for another reason– like don’t I love the book a ton? Well, I do, but here’s the reality. Since I handed in Angel to my editor I’ve written three other books, had two books release (thus promo for them), started planning three more books in different series…you get the idea. I remember the main plot points of Angel, but the little details are making me smile, or making my heart break. Like:
The ache inside throbbed like a living creature trying to break free.
You’ll get a chance to read snippets from Angel during the tour that begins November 12. In the meantime, I’m going to gloat that I get to read this really great, angsty-cowboy book. Yes, it’s my own.

New Book! Rocky Mountain Heat is available in PRINT
For all those non- ebook readers, the first book in the Six Pack Ranch is now available in PRINT. Yes, It’s a thrill to be able to have another print on the shelf, not because it’s more ‘real’ than an ebook (A book is a book is a book…) but because while I read both print and digital, I know there are still those who don’t.
Now they can start to enjoy the adventures of the Coleman clan as well. So spread the news–if someone you know who’s a die-hard print reader has wanted to try the Six Pack Ranch series, ROCKY MOUNTAIN HEAT is now available in trade paperback. Also? Amazon currently has it up for $8.40. Book 2 is coming December 2, book 3 in February and you can pre-order, and get all three books for one reduced price. (Barnes & Noble have matched those prices, btw)
