On research with Hampshire Police Marine Unit





Heading across to Royal Clarence Marina on the police launch On
Wednesday 17 February I spent the morning on research with the
wonderful Hampshire Police Marine Unit who I have a lot of admiration
for.  They police one of the busiest stretches of water in Europe indeed
in the World. And the marine unit features in my DI Andy Horton crime novelsFatal Catch, DI Andy Horton 12, is dedicated to Hampshire Police and the Marine Unit.

Enjoyable, absolutely fascinating was the verdict of the audience at Poole Library

Q & A - What has been your greatest struggle as a writer?

From the moment I discovered a wonderful place full of free books - my
lovely local library in Portsmouth when I was about eight - I was hooked
both on reading and writing. From that moment my ambition was to either
be an
author or a journalist.  I made it to being an author but it took a
very long time and I am pleased to say a highly successful career in
marketing and PR before I got there working for multinational companies
before running my own Marketing and PR Agency which I sold in 2003 to
concentrate on a writing career.

my crime novels and other topical matters  with his fellow guest, a
local councilor Lynn Stagg and school teacher ex army medic and fantasy
writer, Sean Beech.













Pauline Rowson checking the programme script with Chris Rider That's Solent TV 3 February 2016 The programme is aired on Freeview Channel 8 on 3 February at 7.30pm to 8.30pm and  again between 10pm and 11pm.



It is also repeated on 4 February at 10am to 11 am and again between 4pm and 5pm.

Video- From inspiration and ideas to plot lines, how to write a crime novel

This video was shot at a talk I gave at Sandhurst Library, in it I am talking about how I convert inspiration and ideas into plot lines



The DI Andy Horton  crime novels are set in Portsmouth and the Solent area, and the Art Marvik marine thrillers are set on the South Coast of England.
