CSI Gateshead with Pauline Rowson, Matt Hilton and Mari Hannah
Nearly a hundred and twenty people attended the first ever CSI Gateshead event at Gateshead Library on Thursday 25 April. Inspired by the CSI Portsmouth event, which I help to organise. The CSI Gateshead event was a huge success.
CSI Gateshead was modelled on the CSI Portsmouth event with some slight variation. The Gateshead event took place over two hours on an evening with one panel of crime fiction authors and crime experts whereas CSI Portsmouth is a full day event with two panels of crime authors and crime experts. Both events are proving to be extremely popular with crime fiction fans and those who enjoy CSI programmes on the television.I am also assiting with and appearing at CSI Basingstoke on Saturday 6 July and at CSI Portsmouth on 2 November.
To read more and see the photographs of CSI Gateshead and to find out more about CSI Portsmouth on 2 November 2013 and CSI Basingstoke on 6 July please visit my website at http://www.rowmark.co.uk
You can see details of all my appearances on the events page.

Pauline Rowson meets DI Andy Horton fans in Hartlepool and Whitley Bay
My mini tour of the North East of England was delightful and rewarding. Authors spend so much time working alone with only their characters for company that it is always good to get out and meet readers and that is just what I was doing in Hartlepool and Whitley Bay last week, and in Gateshead when I took part in the first ever CSI Gateshead, modelled on the event I help to organise in Portsmouth every year, CSI Portsmouth.
I met up with some stalwart fans of DI Andy Horton at Throston Grange Library in Hartlepool on Thursday 25 April and introduced the flawed and rugged DI to new readers. This was my third visit to libraries in Hartlepool in the last four years and once again I enjoyed it tremendously. Many thanks to Denise Sparrowhawk who is an ace organiser and marketeer and to all the fantastic library staff for making this enjoyable not only for me but for everyone who attended these events.
On Friday 26 April I met up with readers in the newly opened Whitley Bay Library. In fact it was so new that the sign was only just being erected as I arrived. It's a fantastic library in the heart of the small town and I was privileged to be asked to speak there. Once again I met some true DI Horton fans and hopefully DI Horton will charm his way into the hearts of those who are new to him.
My thanks to the staff of North Tyneside Libraries for asking me to speak and for all the superb organisation.
Happy to return to both if they'll have me.
