Hark, a Vagrant: Macbeth

I am enjoying the themed comics, as you can tell. Today we bring you more high school literature comics.

During my time in high school, we did Macbeth not once, but twice. Which was lame in one way because I still haven't read Hamlet, but on the other hand it was sweet, because Macbeth rules.

There is a copy of Hamlet sitting beside me now, though I spilled a drink on it earlier today. It's still...

Hark, a Vagrant: King of Portland

Hello everyone! Something different today!

My friend KC Green and I thought you might enjoy this little jam comic we made on the weekend. Couldn't resist going to Portland and poking a little fun at its most famous type residents. Ah, but I love Portland and all its bearded denizens. Such a nice place.

Well Stumptown is over, I am home. It was a nice laid back convention, and I had a good time! There was a...

Hark, a Vagrant: Aquaman

As new as I am to learning about superheroes, everything that is well known to everyone else - like the fact that Aquaman is regarded as kind of lame - is new and hilarious. I read a bit about Aquaman growing a beard and having a harpoon hand and living in a cave and talking to spirits or something, and thought, how can anyone not like this guy? This crazy dude living under the water. Anyway that is the only...

Hark, a Vagrant: The Great Gatsby

I had fun doing comics on a theme with Peasant Comics, so I thought I'd do it again! This time: a novel we all read in high school. Though in high school, I can't say I liked it much. It's hard for teens to relate to young aristocrats who are war veterans chasing money and throwing massive bootlegging parties and etc etc, I guess!

Still, better than the time I tried to read Ulysses because I was "so smart."...

Hark, a Vagrant: batch of comics five

Hello everyone! Here are some little comics for you. I am still in New York. MoCCA was so great, thank you to everyone who came to see me! I really enjoyed that show. Tomorrow I get to go to the New Yorker offices, how exciting is that? They'll know it's me because I'll be walking around with my mouth gaping open.

So professional!

Hark, a Vagrant: Laura Secord

Hello everyone!

I feel bad for Laura Secord because she looms so largely as a Canadian Hero blah blah blah but during her lifetime she fought until she was an old lady for anyone to recognize what she did at all. That sort of thing happened all the time, they can make a book about it called Bummer History.

I am in New York for the week. Right now I am getting ready for the MoCCA Comic Festival! Super...

Hark, a Vagrant: Tesla, Marconi, Edison

Way back when I first started making comics, one of the very first happened to be about Nikola Tesla. Don't pay attention to the comic number there because when we re-launched the site, the early archives were all jumbled. In any case, I still think the Tesla comic did more to spread my name around than any other since, very unexpected!

I didn't know at the time that Tesla himself was enjoying an enormous and b...

Hark, a Vagrant: peasant romance

Thanks for waiting for the late update guys! I made sure that it was a big one.

Items!

The MoCCA festival is coming up soon, in New York, and I will be there!

My friend Sean has made a pretty sweet artists' social hub with the website Pink Muse. If you are looking to stay in touch with other artists and see what's happening, sign up!

I started something of a meme with twitter videos called Art Book but I have ...

Hark, a Vagrant: vikings redone

Do you remember this viking comic? It is way back in the archives, and I had to redo it on a commission. More readable, no? Hope you enjoy!

There might not be a real update this week while I attend to a load of freelance work and other things that need to get done and need to get done now. It's worth mentioning here that this comic isn't my only job! Though the particulars there change week to week and some...

Hark, a Vagrant: 20 000 leagues

I love Verne. Did you notice? You probably did.

Thanks to everyone who came out to Emerald City! It was so busy, I darn near snapped my drawin' hand but it was nice to meet you all!

Hey remember those pony figurines I have been blabbin' about? Well, they're here:

And so you know, they go up for sale (at Topatoco )at noon EST this Friday, the 19th. There will only be 150 sold, and they are all hand made!...
