Mind Readers 3

I've gotten a lot of emails asking when the third book in the Mind Readers trilogy will be released... I'm hoping early fall! Yes, it seems far off, but hey, its sooner than the time period between book 1 and 2! lol.

As for the title...

My cousin Aaron (yes, I named evil Aaron from book 1 and 2 after him :) mentioned a title that really fit right. Only problem was that it sounded very similar to another YA that is very popular right now. I didn't want people to feel as if I'd copied. But he hasn't been the only one to like the title or suggest it. All of my writer friends think I should use it. So they've talked me into it. Are you ready? The third book will be called....

The Mind Games!

Yes, I'm sure you now know which book I'm discussing with the similar title. There are many books titled Mind Games, or The Mind Game, so I don't feel too bad using it. I just couldn't pass it up as it fit so well. Poor Cameron has had so many games played with her mind, how could I not use it? So there you go...

In early fall the third and final book, The Mind Games, will be out!

P.S. You can always go to my Contact Page and send me an email. I'd be happy to contact you when any of my books come out! Just let me know which one you're interested in!

In The News...

Hi everyone! Hope you're doing well. I have a couple of announcements...

1) The Mind Readers Series...
I'm so glad you guys are enjoying the second book! I was very nervous about it, but so far so good. As you probably know, there will be 3 books in all. I'm sure I could go on with the series, but honestly there is another YA I want to start. I have started the third Mind Readers, but it will be awhile before it's out. At least 6 months.

As for my more adult friendly books...

2) Unless you're a writer you probably don't know this, but Amazon has started a few publishing lines. Their romance is called Montlake. A few weeks back I got an offer from them... they wanted to publish book 2 and 3 of my Seduction books (first book: To Seduce an Earl). I was shocked! I had to go with my gut/instincts and say yes. But when you go with a publisher (rather than self publish), you have contracts and deadlines. So the books I'll really be focusing on right now are books 2 and 3 of the Seduction Series.

3) I will be doing a book 2 and 3 of the Night Series, but they have been put on the back burner because of the Amazon contract.

4) There will be no more of the Hunter series. But I do have another couple contemporary paranormals in mind, I just have to find the time to write them!

And last...

I just want to thank everyone who has left comments, emails and reviews for my books. You guys are all so sweet and it really helps me keep going! You don't know how much I appreciate you all!

The Mind Thieves Has Arrived!

It's a ... book! Yes, The Mind Thieves, the second book in the Mind Readers series, is finally available! I know, about time :) I'm actually pretty nervous about this book as it has definitely been the book people email me about the most. I do hope you all enjoy it! If you're interested, read the blurb below!

What would you do if someone told you that your past and everything you believed was a lie?

Cameron Winters is a freak, a mind reader who can hear the thoughts of those around her. Although her life has been far from ideal, she has finally found peace on a Caribbean island far away from her troubles. But her troubles are about to find her in the form of a gorgeous government agent named Maddox.

Maddox claims Cameron’s father sent him to protect her from encroaching enemies. There’s only one problem…Cameron’s father has been dead for over a decade. When men arrive, threatening Cameron’s very life, she has no choice but to trust Maddox and escape to the United States. Shockingly, Cameron realizes Maddox has been telling the truth all along when she’s introduced to her father, a man she barely remembers. Suddenly, Cameron has everything she has always wanted…a family and home. But as her powers are exploited by the very people she trusts, Cameron realizes the old adage is only too true…be careful what you wish for.

You can find The Mind Thieves here:

Coming Soon...The Mind Thieves!

I get emails daily asking when The Mind Thieves will be out, the second book in the Mind Readers series. Well, it's not ready quite yet...but soon. It will be out in April, although probably toward the end of April. Here are some facts you might be interested in:

-The title is, of course, The Mind Thieves and it will be around the same length as book 1, The Mind Readers (which is only 99 cents right now on Amazon).

-The book will be Ebook only (for now) and will be $2.99

-There will be three books in all, and I have no idea when book 3 will be out. Sorry!

This week I'll be at the Romantic Times conference in Chicago. If you're there, please say hello!

For now I'll leave you with an excerpt from The Mind Thieves ...

"Get down!" Maddox grabbed my arm and jerked me to the oil-stained ground.

The tap of shoes on pavement echoed through the garage, barely audible over the roar of blood to my ears.

"Come out, come out," a feminine voice sing-songed.

I knew that voice well. A shiver of unease raced over my body. Maddox's jaw clenched and unclenched, a pulse ticking erratically at his temple. His anger was almost tangible. I didn't need to ask him, I knew it was the woman from the plane. Cinderella had found us.

"Stay down," he whispered.

He hunched low and moved toward the bumper. His back pressed to the car, he reached behind him, taking a pistol from a holster underneath his t-shirt.

"How'd you get on the plane with that?" I whispered.

"Shhh!"

Was he seriously going to shoot the blonde? Wouldn't that only exacerbate the situation? Like, make us wanted for murder? I could see our mug shots now, "Wanted, for killing Cinderella." We'd put the evil stepsisters to shame.

I looked heavenward, to the cement ceiling, rumbling overhead from cars. My heart pounded madly. It hadn't slowed since yesterday. At this rate I was totally going to have a heart attack by the time I reached nineteen.

"Oh Maddox," Cinderella called out. "I know you're here. I can practically hear your mind spinning."

Tap. Tap. Tap.

Her footfalls came closer…closer. Maddox shifted ever so slightly, his thigh muscles bunching under his cargo shorts. I wanted to ask him what he was planning, but instead I bit my lower lip to keep from giving us away. Closer, those shoes tapped, so close she was almost on us. Suddenly, Maddox surged upward, pistol extended.

I braced myself against the cool metal of the car and started to stand. Before I could straighten, an arm wrapped around my neck. I was tugged to my feet, my back crushed to two perky boobs.

"You should know better." Blondie's melodic voice rang into my ear, but I knew she wasn't talking to me.

"Shit," Maddox grumbled. He lowered his arm and slowly turned to face us. He looked more annoyed than nervous. Why was he just standing there? Why wasn't he doing the crazy ninja moves he'd used on the intruders in our cottage?

"Surprised to see you," he said quite casually.

Seriously? Blondie might be skinny, but she had a heck of hold on my neck. If he wasn't going to help, I would. I started to lift my elbow, intending to jab her in her flat gut when I felt the distinct press of hard metal to my temple. A gun.

My blood went cold.

Goodbye, Jack

Today we had to put our dog down. He wasn't eating and his legs kept going out. We had him for nine, wonderful years and he actually lived about as long as a Golden Retriever usually does (10-12 years). But it didn't make it any easier. The last month or so we could tell he wasn't feeling well, but thought it was arthritis. So, it was a bit shocking to get the news that he was full of cancerous tumors. Golden Retrievers are great at hiding pain. He never whimpered, never cried.

When we lived in Michigan, Jack showed up one day, tail wagging, all smiles. No one ever claimed him and so we were fortunate enough to get to adopt him. I know most people think this, but he really was the best dog. So kind and loving. All he wanted to do was be with the family. He adored hiking and swimming in lakes. When my son was a toddler, he would crawl all over Jack, pull his ears and tail, but Jack wouldn't even flinch. I've never much considered myself a dog person, but Jack wasn't like most dogs. Jack was more human than pet. You could see the soul in his eyes, his intelligence, his kindness. There wasn't a person alive who didn't love Jack.

Most days it was just me and Jack when my husband went to work and my son to school. I'd be in my office and Jack would come in as if to say hi and see what I was up to.

I really can't believe he's gone. No matter how many pets you lose, it never gets easier. I guess all you can do is enjoy the time you have together. So Goodbye Jack, you will be greatly missed.

Giveaway!

Hello everyone!

Been awhile since I've done a giveaway here. Last weekend I attended a writer's conference in Florida, The Silken Sands Conference. I actually ended up getting a horrible cold while there, but other than that, it was great! Met some new authors, met some authors I'd known online but never met. Everyone was lovely and the best part was that the hotel was right on the beach! The weather was perfect, the beach was beautiful. Seriously, all conferences should be at the beach.

One of the best things about a writer's conference is that you get free books! I managed to grab some for you readers. So....

I'm giving away a signed copy of A Taste of Desire by Beverley Kendall (who was the Keynote speaker) and an unsigned copy of Devil's Kiss by Zoe Archer. Just leave a comment and email addy! I'll pick one winner.

P.S. These books are for adults!
