The Food of Festivities!

As you probably know if you've visited my blog in the past few months, my book launch is approaching quickly. There are many things to prepare, of course, but one of the big things I absolutely do not want to forget is the food! I think it's important to celebrate big occasions with extra-special food, and so I'm starting to compile my shopping list so I'm all ready for September the 7th!

But....it's no fun to celebrate alone.

Sneak Peek: The Prizes!

This is very exciting. I asked my fabulous publicist at Simon & Schuster if they would donate a few books for giveaways for my online and local launch parties, and look what they sent!!!

Am I a Jealous Person?

Well, yes, I am. Sort of. But is jealousy always a bad thing?

For those of you who are not aware (aka those who have been living in a cave for the last couple of months!) Kody Keplinger's debut novel, THE DUFF, debuts the same day as LOSING FAITH, September the 7th. THE DUFF has been getting an incredible amount of buzz, and rightly so! I've always wondered how debut authors manage to assemble "street teams"-- teams of people who will get out there and promote their books--before their novels have even released from the publisher. Expectations and Disappointment

When my husband tells me he'll pick me up at 5 p.m., I can usually be sure I won't see him until approximately 6:30. This used to really annoy me, and I admit, from time to time it still does. But for the most part, I've readjusted my expectations for him. He doesn't have a good sense of time, and that's not likely to change any time soon.
