Setting Goals

I don’t deadlines when it comes to my writing—I get enough of deadlines at work, I don’t need them in an activity that’s supposed to be a hobby.

But I am happy to set goals. Goals aren’t deadlines. Deadlines get you in to trouble if you miss them. Goals… Not so much.

So, my currently set goal is to complete the review of the first draft of The Truths We Live as soon as possible. I by as soon as possible I mean this weekend. Maybe.

We’ll see.

If I can do that, then the next goal t...

Facebook

Facebook is an odd platform, isn’t it? It’s a multi-billion-dollar company whose main income—indeed, I believe its only income—is advertising. And yet, when was the last time you can honestly say that you bought something, be it goods or services, because you saw an ad for it on Facebook?

More New Covers

Two more of my short stories that made their debut at Ruthie’s Club back in the day have also received new covers this month.

Public Performance is a story that may or may not be based on a real-life incident from my university days in Aberystwyth. Meanwhile, Private Party is very much a fully-fictional effort.

Both are available to buy on Amazon or can be read with a Kindle Unlimited Subscription.

Here are the new covers

New Covers for the Ladz Girls

The Ladz Local Lovelies series of four short stories are dear to my heart for the simple reason that they represent the first stories I ever had published when they were picked up by Ruthie’s Club.

Ruthie’s is no longer with us, but the Ladz series lives on as eBooks on Amazon, at just 99c each or as part of Kindle Unlimited.

As part of my continuing project to keep by Amazon offering fresh, these four stories have all received new covers this month.

And here they are…

The La...

New “Kissed by a Rose” Teasers

The designing book “Teasers”—small graphics for sharing on social media that contain a short little snippet of the book’s text—is a fun distraction from all manner of life’s travails. And whenever I’m trying to get back into the ‘role’ of being Marc Nobbs, it’s one of the things that I turn to as an aide.

So it should come as no surprise that I’ve recently designed some new book teasers for Kissed by a Rose. The book was re-released back in October, but I completely ignored the release, such ...

You know how that phrase ends, I’m sure. I had planned to post excerpts from all the books I have on Amazon KU over the first couple of weeks of January—one every couple of days was the plan. But, well, … Continue reading →
