Nerds vs Bigots at Comic Con

Apparently they think reading Batman is a threat to Jesus or some other nonsense. The nerds in attendance were not going to take this affront to their values laying down. The fans gathered cardboard, markers, and set up their own counter protest armed with little more than humor and customs (but isn't that really all you need?).

Carlton Mellick III in "The Ancient"

Carlton explains:

"About 5 years ago I was asked to appear in a low budget zombie movie called "The Ancient." They wanted me to play a demented doomsday priest that goes door to door preaching about the end of the world. It was a good time. The movie was only available for a few weeks and is now out of print, because I believe all those involved in making it are a bit embarrassed that it exists. I probably should feel the same way but there's nothing I like more than a bad low budget...

Kevin David Andersen reviews Shatnerquake

Shatnerquake (Eraserhead Press 2009) When zealot Bruce Campbell fans (Campbellians) set off a fiction bomb at the first ever ShatnerCON, all the charectors portrayed by Shatner come to life, with one mission. Kill William Shatner! Bizarro author Jeff Burk, creates a surreal world where TJ Hooker, Captain Kirk, and Priceline-Shatner all come together in a gory zombie-esq riot of cataclysmic proportion. Overflowing with pop culture references, that don't pander to the uninitiated...
